Absolutely delicious — fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully served. But what really blew us away was how Kemrose pulled off a last-minute gorilla safari for us. We thought it’d be impossible on such short notice, but they made it happen, and it was hands down one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives! We also explored stunning crater lakes and went on epic hikes through breathtaking landscapes, even checking out natural hot springs. "My daughter and I stayed here for two nights in the Abwooli Room. It was VERY comfortable and roomy as well. The grounds are gorgeous and the view of the crater lake is stunning. Joffrey graciously took care of our laundry and Stephen was an excellent server. The food was delicious and I even asked for seconds of dessert one night. The pool is pristine and overlooks the lake. In addition, the manager, Brian, was very friendly and took time to teach us about the area. One other bonus of this lodge (as compared to others we stayed in in Uganda) is that the grounds are fairly level so you don’t have to hike up and down hills to get from the room to the lobby. Highly recommend!"

"If you are coming through beautiful western Uganda, and plan to stay in Fort Portal, I would highly recommend the Dutchess hotel and restaurant. Not only are the rooms extremely clean, but they are very large, pleasant views, and the food is amazing. For Westerners, please note that they wash the food, including the salads, with purified water. I also cannot say enough about the management and the staff at the hotel, both of which were wonderful. The manager accompanied us to a local printer shop, and the staff was nothing but fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone."
