Amazing
BBryce van de LaarThe Solymar beach resort is not the most expensive resort in the Hurghada/Safaga area, but it’s also not the cheapest. Because of this, we were expecting it to be quite middle-of-the-range in terms of quality. At every turn, we were pleasantly surprised and delighted.
The staff were friendly and courteous - whether at the reception, in the restaurant, or walking past someone watering the grass, you are guaranteed a friendly greeting. Everyone is quick to know their customers - after just a day in our usual spot on the beach, Ahmed knew our usual order. The hyper-energetic Magic Entertainment team members were also quick to build rapport and make us feel included in the resort vibes.
We plunged immediately into extreme relaxation with a “honeymoon massage” at the spa, which included time in the dry and steam saunas, a special hammam exfoliation ritual on a heated marble slab, a full-body Dead Sea mud wrap, and an oil massage. The masseuses were talkative and playful - possibly not to everyone’s taste, but this seems to be the Egyptian way and certainly got me smiling and giggling along.
There is not a moment of the day when you might be at risk of going hungry. From the early breakfast in the main restaurant, to the late breakfast at the beach, to the drinks and snacks on offer throughout the day at the pool bar and restaurant, there is always a wide array of quality F&B choices. There is some variation from day -to-day options, and it’s always worth checking out the “fresh-from-the-grill” area to see what the day’s speciality may be. Part of the stay includes one complementary meal at one of the two a la carte restaurants (Italian/Egyptian) where the food is a level or two up from what’s served in the buffets. Go hungry - the Egyptian meal included a starter of hot and cold mezze, a soup, a main course and a dessert (with alternative plant-based and kiddies’ menus).
The resort has done a lot to ensure that it is eco friendly. Apart from the usual request to hang up towels to save water on unnecessary cleaning, they also purify their own water, which is left in your room in chilled glass bottles (it tastes a little weird, but it’s good for the planet).
Overall, highly recommend the Solymar resort.

Great
DDesha91This is my second visit to Rixos magawesh , one of the greatest resorts in red sea , my first visit was in 2022 and now after 4 years, I can say the amenities became more enjoyable, great landscapes all over the resort , spacious rooms and suites. The beach is so nice , the pools are great but needs more activities .. the food quality is good , Dinner is perfect but breakfast could be better .. the only thing I don’t like about the place is the standard of service not the standards I used to with Rixos group , is Rixos premium seagate in sharm was perfect but here I felt with the new expansion in magawesh , the guests are too much for the capacity of the place and the staff .. shuttle bus waiting time was annoying and needs to be improved. Over all it was a good vacation , and this resort with some care to service quality could be the best resort on the red sea .

CChunpuxiaoshaonianThe hotel was wonderful, and we had a great time there. The service was excellent, except for one incident at the beach bar. A waiter kept speaking broken Chinese and making jokes at my expense. I felt really disrespected and uncomfortable. It was not just his accent, but rather his attitude that made me feel angry. Apart from that, everyone else there was kind and friendly, and I did not want to let one person ruin my overall impression of the hotel.
This was the only unpleasant experience during an otherwise excellent stay, and I hope the management will address this issue and ensure that all guests are treated with respect.

AAnonymous UserNice new inclusive hotel. The staff is friendly. However, as a 5 stars hotel, I think that it should be normal to provide amenities such as toothbrush, etc.
For the food, very good (the buffet). The “fine dining” experience is actually just eating à la carte style and they should not market it as fine dining.
Very nice swimming pool and beach.
For the spa, the organisation is not good at all. We bought a combo, and they only gave us the massage. We had to tell the spa reception that we have not experience everything we bought. After the spa, we were all wet, no towels were given. My girlfriend and I had to go out, wearing just swimsuit to the reception to demand towels while we were drenched in water. But fyi, the spa is 3rd party provider, not Amarina it self, they just rent the whole floor to a spa. Anyways, they should have verified the spa and its service well before opening to the public. This is not acceptable.

PPSR215I recently stayed at Mercure Hotel, and overall I had a really good experience.
The food was alright—definitely better than what I’ve had in all-inclusive hotels in Turkey or Tunisia. There was a wide variety of dishes, including lots of tasty options, cakes, tea, coffee (which was actually good), cocktails, and decent beer.
The service was excellent. The staff were very polite and always willing to help—you can ask them anything and they’ll do their best. A special mention goes to Ahmed, the kitchen chef, who is an incredibly kind person. He really stood out, and I’d give an extra star just for him.
The resort overall is not as busy as many other places in the area, which I really liked. It’s a smaller hotel compared to others nearby, with a simple, nice look—white buildings with brown windows, just like in the photos. It’s not a big aqua park-style resort, but honestly that was a plus for me, as I could relax without too many kids around.
The beach is nice and quiet, perfect for relaxing. There are comfortable beds with shades/umbrellas around, so you can always find a good spot. The hotel has three swimming pools—the one next to the main restaurant is very large and usually empty, as most people stay at the smaller pool or by the beach.
The sea water was a bit cold for my preference, but it’s beautifully clear and very clean. Many people really enjoy it, especially for snorkeling—there are amazing snorkeling spots right next to the resort.
Rooms are cleaned every day, and you get two bottles of water per room daily, which is a nice touch.
There are also plenty of activities: you can play tennis (though they only have one set of rackets), mini golf is included in the stay, and there’s a gym which is usually empty. There are snacks available by the pools and the beach, and a bar in the main restaurant.
Outside the hotel, taxis are easy to find either at the lobby or on the street. Just make sure to agree on the price beforehand, or use the inDrive app—it’s usually cheaper than Uber or Careem, and you agree on the price upfront.
There are a few shops nearby as well. If you need medication, it’s better to order from Self Care Pharmacy (you can find them on Facebook). For example, I ordered Antinal and rehydration salts with delivery for only 250 Egyptian pounds. They can deliver pretty much anything you need, and it’s much cheaper than buying inside the resort—definitely good to be prepared for emergencies.
Overall, it’s a clean, more peaceful hotel with good service, plenty of food options, and lots to do. A great place to relax and enjoy the Red Sea.

GGuest UserI had high expectations for Steigenberger Aqua Magic, but unfortunately my experience did not match the reputation of the hotel. The first disappointment started at check-in. I booked two rooms and sent a request in advance asking for adjacent rooms because we are one family traveling with children. The hotel is very large and consists of several buildings, so it is simply not reasonable for my children to stay in one building while I stay in another. At reception I was told that there were no rooms of the same category available in the same building. To solve the problem, I agreed to pay around €100 to upgrade the second room. However, even after paying for the upgrade, the rooms were still not next to each other. They were only on the same floor despite my repeated request. To make matters worse, I received the key to the first room after approximately 3:00 PM, while the second room was not ready until after 6:00 PM because housekeeping had not finished preparing it. Waiting several extra hours for a room after paying for an upgrade was very frustrating. Then, on the day of departure, shortly after 12:00 PM I received a call asking me to check out immediately. I found this difficult to understand. If the hotel expects guests to respect the official checkout time, then guests should also expect their rooms to be ready at the official check-in time. The standards should be the same for both sides. Another disappointing policy was the specialty restaurants. Although I booked an All-Inclusive package, I was only allowed to use one specialty restaurant because my stay was less than five nights. I do not think this is a fair policy. If a restaurant is fully booked, I completely understand, but if tables are available, all All-Inclusive guests should have the opportunity to dine there regardless of the length of their stay. Restricting access only because of the number of nights makes the All-Inclusive experience feel unnecessarily limited. I also felt there was a noticeable difference in how some guests were treated. I paid in foreign currency just like many international guests, yet I noticed that the building assigned to us was occupied mostly by Egyptian families and its overall condition was not maintained to the same standard, especially the unpleasant smell around the ground-floor bathrooms. Another incident happened at the swimming pool where my children were told that inflatable toys and floats were not allowed, and we immediately respected the rules. However, only a few minutes later we saw children of other nationalities using similar inflatables in the same pool without being stopped. This made me feel that the rules were not being applied equally to everyone. I also remember another situation at reception where a foreign guest requested to change rooms and was offered several alternatives. When I requested the same, the receptionist briefly searched and then told me that no rooms were available. Seeing another guest receive multiple options while I was told there was nothing available left me questioning why the same level of service was not offered to me. I am not saying this based on rumors; I am simply describing my own experience during my stay. I sincerely hope the hotel reviews whether its procedures and policies are being applied equally to all guests. Despite these issues, I would like to thank the restaurant staff, housekeeping staff, and cleaning team. They were always friendly, professional, and helpful, and I truly appreciated the way they treated us. The hotel itself has excellent facilities and great potential, but the inconsistent service at reception and the feeling that some guests receive better treatment than others had a significant impact on our holiday. I hope the management takes these comments seriously because equal treatment, fair policies, and better organization at check-in would greatly improve the guest experience for everyone.

JJamie ThooWe had a disappointing experience using Uber while trying to go to Senzo Mall, which is actually very close to the hotel. The price shown in the app was 1 pound, but the driver asked for 5 pounds instead. This made us feel uncomfortable and sadly felt like we were being taken advantage of.
Because of this, we decided not to proceed and instead booked a taxi directly through the hotel. Although the price was 4 pounds, it felt much safer, clearer, and more reliable.
For other travelers, we would recommend using the hotel’s taxi service for peace of mind, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area.
As a small suggestion, it would be great if the hotel could consider providing a shuttle bus service for guests to travel around nearby places such as Senzo Mall, which would make getting around even more convenient and comfortable.

ЕЕFor the third time at this hotel. and every time pleasantly surprise. Despite the fact that the old hotel was always cleaned, the main restaurant was cleaned. They cook deliciously ... especially delicious beef and fish. Variously. Cleaning every day. drinking water in the room. the beach is clean, clean. Nice and polite staff.
For 3 *** it’s quite worthy ... and I know what I'm writing about.
If you need relaxation inexpensively, you can safely book

GGuest UserFive-star review! The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the front desk service was warm and attentive. The location is convenient and soundproofed. I will choose this hotel again next time!
The stay exceeded expectations! The room was spotless, the bathroom had a wet/dry separation, and the hot water was consistent. Service was prompt, housekeeping was timely, and it was convenient for getting around and finding food nearby. It was quiet and I slept well. Highly recommended!
Excellent value for money! Check-in was efficient and quick. The room was spacious and bright, with complete facilities and stable internet. It was quiet and not noisy, perfect for business trips.
Great location, close to attractions/commercial areas, making travel super convenient. The room was clean and cozy, the service was thoughtful and attentive, and breakfast was plentiful. Overall, it was comfortable and pleasant, a top choice for travel!
