The Salty Soul is a cozy, bright, and cheerfully decorated cottage in the heart of the Outer Banks. Nestled between the highway (US 158) and beach road (NC 12) in Kill Devil Hills at MP 10, it is conveniently located to restaurants, shopping, mini golf, and more. Our cottage even backs up to Kill Devil Grill--one of the best restaurants on the beach! Getting to the beach is easy with two nearby accesses...one at Lake Drive a little north, and a parking access at Eighth Street just a little south (still walkable, though). Or walk a footpath north of the cottage... about a 3 minute walk. The Salty Soul is perfect for a couples retreat, small family, or a quiet friends weekend. The lower level (and entry area) of the cottage has a convenient heated and cooled room with washer and dryer, utility sink, extra refrigerator, and a private toilet. Upstairs features an open living room with a cozy deck overlooking a large fenced in backyard, kitchen & dining area, as well as a large ensuite bedroom that has a king size bed and a bathroom with double sinks, toilet, and a tub shower combo. A queen size bed in a spacious room is on the top floor. Working space is available with desk and chair. This bedroom has a large full bathroom. Off this 2nd bedroom is a walk-through closet leading to the 3rd room that has the full size bed in it and a nightstand with light. Great for the snorer in the family or someone wanting privacy. This small quaint room is best suited for children or 1 adult. Note: This 3rd room has no windows and accesses the bathroom through the 2nd bedroom. The outdoor space is spacious under the house, on the back deck, or in the fenced in yard area. You can enjoy eating outside, playing corn hole, or grilling out on the gas grill. After a long day at the beach, you can rinse off in the outdoor shower and relax by the fire pit with a cold drink in hand!Things to note:- You must be 26 or older to rent the home- We have irrigation in the front and back yard, so please do not park on the grass- We DO NOT allow pets, so please do not ask or bring one to the cottage- Access is given via a key box in the outdoor shower - Property backs up to a small local restaurant's parking lot, but it closes early--just worth a mention- Smart Roku TV’s in living room, king bedroom and queen bedroom. For safety purposes we recommend that you head to 5th Street or Hayman during the busier times of the year because those access points have a stop light with a crosswalk to cross N Croatan which can be busy during peak times. As for the Avalon Pier access, if you walk straight down Sportsman to the beach, you can access to the right of the pier entrance!Kitty Hawk Bay is due West from our house down Sportsman. We highly recommend you head down that way for sunsets at night, but also at anytime during the day because the Bay Drive trail runs along the bay for several miles in each direction. You can use this for walking, running, biking, but it also leads to the Avalon Beach Kitty Hawk Bay Boat Launch where you can launch boats, jetskis, canoes, kayaks, etc.The shed in the backyard will have 3-4 bikes for your use. Also in the shed is a Solo stove fire pit for your use (wood not included). We also have a paddle board that we provide at your request. Tiki Tides is situated at Milepost 7, truly the heart of Kill Devil Hills. This central and sought-after location allows guests to get anywhere on the Outer Banks, from Southern Shores to Roanoke Island, in a matter of minutes. A movie theater, mini golf, grocery stores and a variety of shopping and dining options are located within a mile radius. Nearby restaurants and night life include local favorites such as Goombay's and the Jolly Roger, both within walking distance.Please Note: - Upstairs and downstairs are not connected internally, allowing for privacy downstairs.- Outdoor water is turned on April-October.
