The hotel was in a great location right on the slope, very easy to ski out but to ski in you had to get the button lift before they closed at 1630 otherwise it was a walk uphill back to the hotel with skis. Ski storage was included at the hotel which was good. The rooms were basic but functional, lots of space for clothes, nice little balcony. There was no shower curtain so the bathroom was a wet room that dried very quickly. The buffet breakfast and dinner were not so great, the hot food selections were often lukewarm warm or cold. They had lovely cold food selections, nice fresh salads/vegetables. Swimming pool and sauna was much needed and it was clean, good size and pleasant after a day on the slopes. This hotel was fine for us as a couple but lacking in activities or atmosphere if you were to bring children. Overall we really enjoyed our time here, the staff were very polite and friendly.

Great location & it really is ski in/out with the boot room just a few steps from the slope! Room was clean tidy & our balcony faced the slopes which was nice. The breakfast & dinner was a buffet with good choice. The hotel reception staff were always very helpful & Elena in the bar/restaurant was so friendly & always welcomed us with a smile & is an absolute asset to the hotel!

Although the hotel was excellently located ,well presented and clean ,most of the staff weren’t very accommodating and quite miserable. It came across that they preferred looking after the locals rather than overseas visitors. We were on half board. Both Breakfasts and evening meals were served buffet style but ALL the food was laid out at the start of service , the equipment didn’t keep the food hot during service, resulting in lukewarm food for the majority of the service , the head waiter shuffled around with his head down only looking up when he begrudgingly offered a drink. The most annoying thing about this “4 star hotel” was it charged for both use of the pool and ski boot storage. I truly believe that under a better management this could be a little gem.

Terrible, Very negative review for Hotel Musala Borovets. - cold water in the pool, stay warm but unrenovated, balconies peeling and dirty. No variety in the restaurant. The children's corner is outside the hotel and is paid for. Staff very frowning The only good thing is that it is on the track. We wouldn't do it again. Price quality under any criticism.

Great ski hotel - superbly located just off one of the Nursery slopes and easy access to the main ski lifts and a v short walk into the centre. Rooms are fairly basic but spacious and clean with probably one of the best bed mattresses ever ! Staff v friendly and helpful Would definitely recommend and will definitely return on next trip to Borovets.

I am currently on the final day of my stay at Masula (formerly Yanakiev) Hotel and I would like to leave a huge amount of praise for the staff at this perfect hotel in Borovets. LOCATION - This is a perfect ski-on/ski-off location with convenient access to their ski school, learning slopes, button lifts and chair lifts. SERVICE - I had a couple of unforeseen circumstances which meant we had to be a fussier customer than I'd like and leave a day earlier than anticipated, but the staff were impeccable, courteous and nothing was trouble to them. The restaurant staff, bar, cleaning and reception staff made our stay comfortable and pleasant. Big thank you to Bilyana and her colleagues on reception for accommodating our requests with nothing but care & a willingness to help. FACILITIES - We used the spa/pool area which was clean, adequate and very useful after a morning's worth of skiing. We even paid for massages which were of an excellent standard. Overall, thank you Yanakiev/Masula for making our stay a positive experience ❤️👏🏽

*********** will not publish my review which suggests the scores are manipulated. We were allocated rooms 210 and 225 each room for 3 people. However the Z beds were old and kept collapsing. In fairness one was replaced after the 3rd night. When comparing the room sizes on the fire plan (pictured), we were given the smallest rooms with barely enough room to walk into the room. Breakfast was uninspiring and by the 3 day it was hard to get motivated to get up for it. We were told that since we booked through *********** the sauna and steam rooms were extra cost. After showing the reception our booking they conceded it was a mistake and removed the charges from the room. We will say the staff were generally friendly and helpful. It appears *********** guests are treated differently to others!!

My two children 6 and 9 and myself stayed here for the first week in January. The hotel is situated just off a nursery slop and just 5 minutes walk into town. The hotel is clean and we found all the staff friendly. Breakfast was more than acceptable with lots of choices. Evening meal we all liked which had good choices and was nice too. My only aim for the week was to get the kids sking, we used the hotels ski room to organise this. The staff down there where brilliant, they realy looked after us. I booked Jess to instruct and teach the kids. She had my little girl 9 skiing on the first day by the end of day 5 she was skiing down the mountain. . My boy 6 wasn't far behind. Jess was great with the children and I can't recommend her enough.
