Bog Hotel

Breakfast: Users consistently praised the breakfast experience on the first floor, highlighting the excellent service and pleasant environment. These aspects contributed significantly to their positive overall impression of the hotel.

Charming, elegant, great location. My wife and I stayed here for 4 days for two reasons – good location AND a room with a bathtub (hard to find in Colombia). We selected a Business Suite the only room with a bathtub. First, every single employee was polite and charming. The only name I remember was a wonderful charming efficient Venezuelan waitress in the buffet breakfast named Leidy. The buffet breakfast was fresh and excellent with some of the best arepas, eggs, salmon, fresh fruit, fresh juice (I am not a fan of arepas but these were good). The design of the hotel is efficient and pretty. Nice lap pool with bar and views on the roof. Small gym downstairs but big enough for only 4 or 5 simultaneous users. 2 blocks from Avenida Calle 85 which is restaurant row. Easy to get a taxi or Uber. So now let me share why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. First the room – lovely to look at , nice shower and bath – but 2 flaws – the layout of closets and furniture made opening closet doors too close to the bed. A window was blacked out and it should have been left clear or greyed out in a way to allow light and some visibility. Not enough outlets and no USB ports. Next the bar – the wine they served, then the Dubonnet, had obviously been sitting open for weeks and was undrinkable. While the bar manager tasted and agreed – it looked like he kept the bottles instead of trashing them. (I might have seen wrong – but that is what I saw). Not okay Next the tiny gym. 2 guys (a Colombian with his American friend) used it two consecutive days. One ran on the treadmill barefeet. Both were shirtless and dripping sweat. While it is not the fault of the hotel that two patrons were thoughtless, and I did not complain, with a gym that small they should keep an eye out. Most staff spoke very little English but that is normal for Bogota – and fine for us since we speak passable Spanish. B.O.G. is affiliated with Hyatt, but no longer lets you use Hyatt points to book. When I spoke to a Hyatt agent, she recommended the Hyatt Regency Bogota. The H.R. is a luxury five-star hotel with outstanding service and design (I stayed there on a separate trip). But the HR is in a less convenient neighborhood. Perhaps I would give B.O.G. five stars if I did not have the Hyatt to compare it to. Would I go back to B.O.G.? Yes but primarily for the bathtub.

I always stay here when I am in Bogota. The hotel is great in every aspects. - The people are so kind and took into account my requests as much as they could. - The hotel really has everything of a luxury hotel. - The place is ideal for my business meetings. I let you discover the roof top bar and swimming pool (you can discover it in a Netflix serie too!)
