I've been to this hotel several times and always stayed there. The sea view rooms are very convenient, but I have to admit I was very disappointed this time. The food was mediocre, the prices were ridiculous—higher than Singapore prices, but the quality was several times worse. The service was truly deplorable. I ordered room service for 200 SGD and asked for water, but was refused. I don't understand why you can have water in the restaurant, but not room service. There aren't many entertainment options near the hotel, and a two-night stay would have been boring. Renting a buggy was also confusing, and the staff were incredibly clueless. Overall, I wouldn't choose this place for my next short trip.

Room cleanliness is average. We observe small centipede in the toilet. Please arrange for fumigation more often.
On our first day, there is no buffet breakfast in the Mayang Sari facility. Request us to go to Nirvana Resort where the breakfast hall is very crowded and the food is on average only.

The scenery is great, the room is right by the beach, very comfortable. There are also several restaurants to choose from nearby, but the hygiene conditions are a bit poor.

The hotel is part of a bigger resort property. The hotel location is good and the staff service attitude is great. However, the quality of the foods served in the restaurants are not good. The goods sold in the Happy Marts inside the resort property are extremely overpriced which are 3 to 4 times more expensive than in Singapore. Further, the gym in the Recreation Centre has a very strong mouldy smell. The quality of the SPA is not good. The technique of the masseurs should be improved. Also, the air-conditioner in the massage room is broken. Not worth to have any SPA treatment there.

Amazing place to stay if you need to just relax and recharge in the calm. Just idle time sitting in the patio of your sea view villa and enjoy looking at the sea or walking by the beach collecting sea shells and finding baby mud crabs inside of the sea shells. It was not our first time staying at Mayang Sari or one of the other Nirwana properties. Hence, the smiling staff with their impeccable service levels is never a surprise but always a pleasure. Mayang Sari has its own restaurant, the Deli Cafe, where you can get local and western delicacies and drinks. The property has an Indian restaurant, Spice, which is a 5 minute walk from Mayang Sari, and Nirwana also has its own restaurant. They have a pick and drop shuttle from the ferry terminal, which makes it very convenient. Just a call put that this is Lagoi, so please don't expect to have malls around, and the city centre falls in the Tanjung Pinang area.
