Melia Bilbao

Location: The hotel is conveniently situated near several attraction points, including the Guggenheim Museum. It offers easy access to transportation and provides a quiet atmosphere outside the main city area, while still being close to key attractions.(based on 3 reviews)

Stayed here in late August with my 2 sons and mother of 87 and wish I had never returned to Bilbao a city I had become very fond of in the last 4 years with 5 out of 6 memorable visits with the last at the Melia Bilbao the one we regret. If you are booking a level experience get confirmation that what you are booking is what this building is going to provide as they will without notice change your booking to a significantly downgraded experience so much that we were unable to leave my mother at the hotel unattended due to safety concerns in there so called deliberately downgraded Level room. Having stayed at other Melia hotels through out Spain this is by far the worst experience and they do the Melia brand a disservice. Despite 3 attempts to contact management at the building by email (and yes I did have the correct email address) with no reply it was only by contacting Melia Hotels International did I finally get a response from the Melia Bilbao and an apology that appears to have been forced upon them. I don't do bad reviews and shame on the Management at the Melia Bilbao for putting me in this position and I sincerely hope I never have to do this again. My advise if you stay here and a problem arises don't waste your time in trying to contact the hotel management or there guest experience manager but contact Melia Hotels International.
