Comfy futon and convenient location to drive to town. Only downside was the shared bathroom (no baths after 10pm) and as rooms were on the second floor, luggages will have to be climbed up a flight of steps. Otherwise pleasant stay with friendly couple owners who live next door.

My favorite place on this trip was Biei. It was very quiet with few people in the off-season. The B&B was small but beautiful. The breakfast made by Yuki was delicious. The power-assisted bicycle allowed me to see the sunset and sunrise perfectly. There is no convenience store nearby, so it is recommended to replenish food near the station before coming. I will stay here again next time.

We stayed three nights at Megumiyuki. It is an unpretentious facility but it provided us with a perfect home from home. The pension is tranquil but a short distance from Biei and its facilities. Yorisho and his wife are great hosts and also provide a sumptuous breakfast. Yorisho’s English is good and he provided us with lots of invaluable travel advice.

I stayed at a lodge that allows dogs, but the curtains in the 4-bed lodge were thin and woke me up at 4am. Both my dog ​​and I. Bath towels are 100 yen, but I was surprised that they were an additional charge. I had to contact the owner by cell phone to ask for help.
