Always wanted to experience Aman Beijing, finally booked a one night stay. Upon arrival, Jason at the front desk was very helpful and patient in explaining various items and was pleasantly surprised to hear my room had been upgraded. The property and the room are just like the photos but actually physically being there and seeing all the details of the architecture, courtyards, and surrounding nature and birds is like being transported back in time to another era. In this sense, Aman Beijing accomplishes what no other modern five-star luxury hotel can come close to achieving - making one feel a certain emotion or feeling that they've never felt, or perhaps only experienced in their dreams. Everything from the furniture to the layout to the art to the lighting is so tastefully executed and done, the courtyards and grounds are kept immaculate (saw people sweeping away leaves), they even have the older style bicycles available to ride there. Ate at the Chinese restaurant twice, the environment and lighting is so nice, their dumplings are excellent and also really enjoyed some of their soups and vegetable offerings, very delicious. Unfortunately, I was quite sick that day and also had injured my knee the day before. One of the staff at the front desk noticed my limp and asked if I was okay. I told her I was fine, just a little sprain. She went to the back and brought out a traditional Chinese 'Ban Lan Gen' pain relief spray can which she kindly gave to me, saying I could use it and take it with me, very touched. I think it is moments like these which one will remember many years later. All the staff I met there were very kind, during lunch was fortunate enough to meet Ivy, the F&B Manager who was very warm and hospitable. Then during dinner, after I saw down, a restaurant staff asked if I would like an ice pack for my leg, I asked her if she thought it would help and she replied, "Yes." They proceeded to bring out a huge ice pack that was able to wrap around my entire knee, providing instant relief. Finally, when it was time to leave, the very lovely and kind Lucy asked if I would like more ice packs to be sent to my room so I could ice my knee before retiring for the night. Even though I was not feeling well, it was an unforgettable experience due in large part to the kind and wonderful staff there.

Great place with Great Price

The Aman Summer Palace is like living in a fantasy. If you love the Summer Palace but want to avoid the crowds this is your choice. They have their own private gate. The staff are so friendly and the service is just amazing. I would give them more than 5 stars for service If I could. I am an executive for Resort development with Universal and I got a lot of great ideas during my stay. It is very quiet and peaceful and especially at night. I also had one of the best massages I can recall with a Shifu massuer. I am not sure what herbs he was using and I was dubious at first; but the proof is in the results. You just have to stay here at least once in your life!

First of all, I am very satisfied with all kind of service in Aman Summer Palace. All staffs are very kind and sincere. And I praise Jojo Feng who really helped us stay comfortable and enjoyable here. I felt that my family were likely to become part of Ming & Qing dynasty and travel back in the past. Definitely we will visit Aman summer palace again soon. This place really harmonizes with Yiheyuan very well.

Obvious it's been 3 years without international tourists. Time to restart service trainings including language and culture skills.

The service is really good. The response to any questions is very quick and efficient. The enthusiasm is bounded. I was a little worried after reading the bad reviews, but it turned out that I was overthinking. I participated in the facial painting class in the hotel's cultural activities. There are many movies to choose from in the private cinema. It feels so comfortable to watch it in a private theater. I heard that the spa in this hotel is remarkable. I didn't have time to experience it. I will definitely come again next time. If you want to better experience the various activities of the hotel, I really recommend staying for two consecutive nights. The back door leading to the Summer Palace is super convenient. The filming that the hotel cooperated with is also worthwhile, and the makeup and photography are very good. When checking out, we were given a luggage tag with a customized name, and as it was close to the Lantern Festival, we were also given glutinous rice balls. I was really super satisfied with this stay.

The best location, quiet in the middle of the city. Outside the wall are bustling tourists, inside the wall is a courtyard of business. The service is warm and thoughtful, and they can proactively provide convenient solutions for guests. The room is quiet and comfortable, with all kinds of facilities (except the movies on the TV are a bit strange). I like the design style of the hotel very much, which has a little royal but also old Beijing family atmosphere. You must book the roast duck in the Chinese restaurant, it is absolutely worth the money!

Overall satisfactory. The basic room type does not have a bathtub, but the location is close to the front desk and the restaurant. The cinema service is an old-fashioned paper movie list, which is a bit unexpected 😂. The breakfast is semi-self-service, and it is a bit hectic when it is full. Fortunately, the service staff handles the problem very promptly and their attitude is also comfortable.

The package is well worth it, the rooms are nice, there are plenty of activities, and it feels like living in the Summer Palace. Every dish in the hot pot is exquisite, and the cooked food for breakfast is freshly made, reflecting the feeling of old Beijing.
