Tired of the urban jungle, I yearned for a getaway to the mountains. So, I drove over a hundred kilometers to Ji County's Zuowang Mountain Resort, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations – a definite five-star review!
This isn't your average B&B; the resort is expansive and built into the mountainside, with picturesque views at every turn. The facilities are comprehensive, featuring two koi ponds and an Instagram-worthy infinity pool that really sets the mood. Multiple viewing platforms at various heights offer progressively stunning vistas.
Outdoors, the natural mountain scenery is breathtaking, offering expansive views of the village and countryside. The in-room amenities were a delightful surprise: a Mousse mattress ensuring a soft and comfortable sleep, Bulgari toiletries with a sophisticated and elegant scent, and even a Marshall speaker. Every detail exuded quality. It's a perfect blend of natural mountain ambiance and modern, luxurious facilities, balancing scenery, comfort, and quality.
The food also completely surpassed my expectations. The freshly made flatbread for breakfast was crispy and delicious, and the à la carte home-style dishes were authentic and flavorful.
It's the perfect place to completely unwind and destress from city life. Spending two days a month here, immersing myself in the fresh air and relaxation, is incredibly blissful. And a big thank you to the owner for the complimentary hawthorn snack souvenir – it was soft, fresh, and tastier than even Jinye or Yida!

I personally verified that it's close to Jinwan Pier and the subway. The subway station is just around the corner, which makes it absolutely the best hotel I've ever found. There's also a laundry room on the second floor. You definitely need to rent an electric scooter when you go out, it's super convenient. The front desk staff was very good; they helped clean my room every day for the three days I stayed.

ChuchuyaThis hotel is a renovated building, originally a century-old structure. The bathroom is quite spacious and very clean. Choosing a room facing the residential area ensures a quiet stay. Breakfast is served until 12 PM, which is perfect for late risers, and the coffee is absolutely delicious – highly recommended! 👍 They also replenish the food promptly. The front desk staff are all young and very friendly. 👍 The hotel's laundry room only has two washing machines and two dryers, which can be a bit insufficient during summer when more people are doing laundry. The hotel is located right on a pedestrian commercial street, making dining, shopping, and getting taxis super convenient. It's also about 1 kilometer away from famous attractions like 'Porcelain House,' 'Xikai Church,' and 'Haihe River,' making it a truly recommended place to stay.

MoguxiaojiebushidusheEven an old Ferrari is still a Ferrari. Although this hotel has been around for a long time, its standards are still top-notch. The rooms have everything you need, and the view outside the window is superb. The butler service was very prompt, and the front desk staff at check-in were very friendly. I'm someone who doesn't like to be disturbed, and throughout my stay, they were there when I needed them but otherwise kept a respectful distance, never bothering me with unnecessary service, which I found to be a perfect fit and very important to me. There was a small misunderstanding with Ctrip in the middle of my stay – they had prepared a children's themed setup for me. Even though I'm not a baby anymore, it was really cute, so I didn't ask them to change it. I had a wonderful, childlike dream. Finally, I recommend the hotel's small bar by the Haihe River downstairs. The night view is excellent, and the drinks and food are great. Even my local friends commented on how they'd never discovered this hidden gem before, haha. I'm very satisfied! 👍

Guest UserThe hotel, a beautiful old castle, truly evokes a medieval European atmosphere. I loved that you could customize the room key cards and I'm especially fond of Ritz-Carlton's signature 'misty blue' color palette. The service was absolutely superb; they contacted me in advance, the hotel itself is grand and elegant, and they were very accommodating with a late check-out. I arrived around 9 AM and had my room by 10 AM, then headed straight to the lounge for breakfast. Every staff member – from the lounge, front desk, and housekeeping to the concierge – was warm, friendly, and courteous. The breakfast on the first floor was extensive, and the wontons were particularly unique. The lounge's lunch and dinner desserts were also delicious. The location is excellent too; it's right opposite the Astor Hotel, just a few minutes' walk to the Haihe River, and very close to the Wudadao area, making it perfect for a city walk. The rose-scented bath salts were lovely. The surrounding area is also charming, and I picked up a neck pillow and a phone charm. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. If I ever come to Tianjin again, I'll definitely choose this hotel!

Guest UserI absolutely love it here! It's perfect for relaxation, swimming, and working out – a complete package. The room is spacious, and the bedding is comfortable. The hotel's infinity pool is huge with amazing views, and there's a fantastic gym! Every detail is thoughtfully taken care of. The service is simply outstanding! Downstairs, you have Kerry Parkside, making dining incredibly convenient. Behind the hotel, in the residential area, there's a lively atmosphere; it's a great spot to grab authentic Tianjin breakfast in the morning without having to go out of your way. In the evenings, there are various street food stalls and BBQ. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time.
Oh, and the hotel is very close to the subway station, just one stop directly to Tianjin Station!

Guest UserThe Astor Hotel is the top choice for a solo city walk in Tianjin. Founded in 1863, it's known as the first hotel in China and is a national key cultural heritage site.
It's less a hotel and more a living museum of modern Chinese history that you can actually stay in. Initially, I was concerned about the facilities being outdated in such an old establishment, but Ms. Chang and Ms. Ning's professional and attentive service immediately put my worries to rest. After check-in, a staff member escorted me to my room, providing detailed explanations about the hotel's historical and cultural background and the room's amenities along the way – very thoughtful and friendly.
I stayed in the old wing, and the room was spacious. They even thoughtfully arranged a street-facing room, offering excellent views of the park opposite.
Its location is superb. Stepping out, you're right on Jiefangbei Road, which leads directly north to Jiefang Bridge. The area is dotted with historic buildings, making for a very charming walk and perfect for a city stroll.

I stayed at the Marriott with my kids for a competition. It's right next to the exhibition center; you can walk from the Marriott lobby to Entrance 25 of the exhibition in just two minutes. There's also a connecting corridor to the Sheraton. The Marriott rooms are quite spacious, and they have bathtubs. The electricity turns on automatically when you use your key card. The bed was very comfortable, the shower pressure was great, and the soundproofing was excellent. Breakfast is from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM and is very rich and comprehensive, offering everything you could want. On the 6th floor, there's a gym, swimming pool, and a kids' play area. The kids' play area is a lot of fun and is open until 10:30 PM; hotel guests can use it for free. Laundry is a paid service. Food delivery isn't allowed to rooms, but there are delivery lockers outside the lobby, which makes picking up food very convenient. The yellow broth beef noodles at the Noodle Hall on the second floor were delicious – not spicy and very tasty. The Chinese restaurant on the first floor has even better à la carte dishes, highly recommended. Emily at the front desk was very attentive and patient during check-in, helping us resolve all our questions. I'll definitely choose the Marriott again next time.

Guest UserCame to Tianjin for a family trip with the kids. Didn't have to make up beds individually, which saved a lot of energy. The room had plenty of storage, so it was easy to put away the kids' toys and our luggage. The starry ceiling was a big hit with the kids; they kept asking to go play in the lobby every day. Plus, there's a snack street right downstairs, making it a one-stop shop for eating, staying, and having fun.
