My usual stay in Shantou is International Hotel although older but is exceptionally good . This time we decided to try out the newly opened Hampton by Hilton and we were very impressed with its use of latest technology eg : contactless card key which gives direct access to the floor level that one is staying with a swipe of card and prompt response from the housekeeping with the use of robot delivery. The front office staff are very helpful and informative and they helped us to book Didi to our destination when there are no taxis available. The breakfast is varied and good. Of course I still prefer the breakfast at the revolving restaurant on top of International Hotel

As a frequent business traveler, I have stayed in many hotels, but Shantou Garden Hotel really impressed me! This time I came to Shantou to meet clients, and chose this old four-star hotel. I was worried that the facilities were old, but I found that it was completely beyond my expectations. I must praise it! There is a bus directly to the high-speed rail station at the door. It only takes 40 minutes from Shantou Station. There is no need to drag luggage to squeeze the subway or take a taxi. It is too friendly for me who is in a hurry. And sisters who drive by themselves don’t have to worry about parking at all. The free parking lot is super large, and you can still walk around after parking. Go to the small park to eat or go to Longyan South Road to eat noodles. It takes more than 10 minutes to drive. The location is not far, not close, but it’s just right! The garden environment is amazing, and you can live in a holiday feeling I was amazed as soon as I entered the hotel! The 15,000 square meter garden is full of green plants like a small forest. When I took a walk in the evening, I saw many guests walking their dogs and taking pictures. Even the air was fresh. The room was renovated in 2019. It is simple and warm. The bed is as soft as a cloud. I, who likes to sleep on the bed, slept until dawn! The most surprising thing is that some rooms have bathtubs. Take a bath at night and light the small aromatherapy provided by the hotel, and the fatigue is instantly eliminated. However, some sisters complained that the toilet occasionally has a cleaning dead corner, but the overall hygiene is still good, at least the sheets and quilts feel clean. The service details are in place, as considerate as a friend The front desk lady is really enthusiastic! I took my suitcase upstairs, and they took the initiative to help press the elevator, get the room card, and kindly reminded the hotel robot to deliver food. Once I needed to add a pillow temporarily, someone delivered it within 5 minutes after calling, and the efficiency was full. What touched me most was that they actually remembered that it was my birthday the next day, and sent a small cake to the room in the morning. Although it was not expensive, I really felt valued! However, during holidays, when there are many people, the elevator takes a long time to wait, but the staff will take the initiative to help press the floor, which is a plus! Breakfast and supper, foodies are ecstatic! Breakfast must be praised! Chaoshan rice noodles, rice rolls, salty rice cakes, sand taro... local specialties are all available, even colleagues from Guangzhou praised them for being authentic. The freshly caught seafood in the Chinese restaurant is also amazing! Several of my colleagues ordered salt and pepper mantis shrimp and steamed grouper. The chef said that they were delivered from the market that day. They were so sweet that they even wanted to drink up the soup! For supper, try the Kung Fu tea in the lobby bar, chat with snacks, and the night view of the garden outside the window is particularly healing. Surrounded by fireworks, experience local life There are many treasures hidden near the hotel! Walk 5 minutes to the flower and tree market. At dusk, the vendors finish work, and the ground is full of cheap and fresh flowers and plants. I couldn't help but buy a pot of succulents to take home. The night market 1 km away is even more lively at night, with licorice fruit, rice noodle soup, oyster omelette... 30 yuan per person to eat until full! However, I would like to remind my sisters that the hotel itself does not have a swimming pool. Families with children may need to bring their own toys, but the fact that children get free breakfast is still a plus! Summary: New vitality of old hotels To be honest, I chose this hotel purely because of its convenient transportation at first, but after staying here, I found that it combines ”old brand” and ”new trend” very well. The service is impeccable, the environment is quiet and suitable for relaxation, and the surrounding area can meet the needs of eating, drinking and having fun. As for the price, 400-500 yuan a night in the off-season, the cost performance is really high! If I have to say a disadvantage, it is that the location is a little off, but because of this, there is less noise from tourists and more leisure of locals.
