Old hotel in need of a refurbishment. As it is outside the city, the hotel relays on income coming from events organised at the hotel - and the staying guests are missing out. The hotel pool is open to the outside guests (events attendees), the outdoor area of the hotel restaurant is only available for the hotel guests after the events are concluded. The alternative is to have dinner inside - not the best option. A very disappointing end to our visit to Dong Hoi and the nearby national park.

Hotel breakfast is very poor, maybe there are very few people staying in the hotel, some words slippers, the price is not high

We booked two rooms with city views. Positives include the location and the rooms. Beautiful building (externally and internally) sitting opposite the main river, across the road from the Dong Hoi market (fresh fruits and food a plenty) and adjoining the Vincom Shopping Plaza. The rooms are clean and spacious, plenty of room to move about and for excess luggage. I think a deeper clean would make it even better as there were some stain marks around the bathroom and walls; the floor to ceilings windows could also do with a clean. Bed was very comfy with a 3 pillow selection. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided which were good quality. We swam at the indoor heated pool which was nice, 1.2m depth all around and water temp not cold but not overly warm. There is also a seperate large jacuzzi area near the pool. One of our party had a slip incident poolside due to excess water on the floor, but the response from the hotel staff was quite surprising. Not only did they stand back and not offer assistance or ask if he was ok, we were pulled aside and told that any damages caused by the slip may be charged to our rooms. We raised this incident with the hotel management and they acknowledge that more training for staff will be provided. Also, we found that from 5pm, kids (approx 30) start swim practice so the pool becomes very busy and noisey; we also raised this with hotel management. This disrupts the enjoyment of patrons of the hotel so there ought to be some notification of this so we can avoid this busy period. We ordered pizza and fries from poolside; pizza was okay but the fries didn’t taste fresh. We didn’t try the buffet breakfast so can’t comment. Checkin was swift; no request for credit card imprint or deposit which was unusual as there is a mini-bar and foods/services can be charged to the room. Check-out was straight forward. There is free underground parking available. We chose this hotel based on our previous stays at other Melia Vinpearl hotels and the reviews online. Regrettably, we found this particular hotel fell short of our expectations in terms of their service. Note to management: A genuine smile, positive attitude and confidence to converse with guests can make an average stay become a great one.

We had a very quick stop in Dong Hoi and this hotel was amazing value for money for us. We checked in early in the morning and basically just needed a place to rest, shower and charge our phones, so this place exceeded our expectations. The room was big and clean, the AC was good and the bathroom was clean and good. 7 minutes drive from the train station. Great value for money!

We stayed for the tour of the Fonna Cave ＋ Cave of Heaven. There is no terrace, but it is a good location with a river view from the window. No air conditioning, refrigerator, TV, valuables box problem. However, WIFI is weak or unstable at 々 hours. Breakfast was a Viking style from ６ hours and the menu was ２ day rotation. Vietnamese and western food was delicious with half 々. Fruit only ２ types. No problem if there is a little more variety. Unfortunately, the taste of coffee. It is the feeling of sugar thickness in espresso. ２ I made tea from the day. The pool seemed to be a service stop, there was no mat or towel lending, and I felt that the pool water was also stagnant, so I stopped using it. A few minutes walk from the hotel, there is a VIN COMMERCE complex, and there is a supermarket on this ２ floor, so it is also convenient to buy and buy. My company organized a tour to Quang Binh and we stayed at this hotel. Comparing with other hotel in this city, it is not the best one. However, it was beautiful, the rooftop bar is amazing with nice view and nice drinks. I will come back if I come to Quang Binh again.

It’s the first time to come to such a small remote place in Vietnam. It’s OK to find this hotel. I can speak a few words in Chinese the day before yesterday, but I can communicate in English. (Unfortunately, I can’t speak English). It is generally not up to Da Nang, but it is worthy of the house price😜😜😜
