We chose the Anantara Riverside to celebrate New Year by the river, but were very disappointed. We paid around 14,000+ THB per night and stayed at the hotel for 4 nights from December 29th to January 2nd.
The service was consistently good and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We received a warm welcome, but unfortunately we were not given any information about the New Year's Eve activities, such as the fireworks or where to watch them. It was disappointing that we, as normal hotel guests, felt excluded from the gala dinner guests.
The breakfast was good and offered a decent selection.
The biggest problem was the condition of the hotel. It is very old and you can see that everywhere. The room looked outdated and shabby. The balcony was particularly bad - absolutely not inviting, constantly dirty with bird droppings, and everything in general looked dirty and dusty.
The location of the hotel was also disappointing as it is very remote, which made our stay even more difficult.
We had high hopes for our stay, especially given the high price, but were disappointed overall. We were glad to be able to leave the hotel in the end.
