Andriyala

We stayed here for one night as part of a tour. We arrived late in the day and the staff were quick to bring our bags down the steps as it was a climb from where the car dropped us. We were given a nice choice for our evening meal and asked what time we would like to eat. Our room was in the main building and was spacious and clean. It was really very pleasant. There was no bar and drinks had to be requested from a member of staff, most of whom had retreated through a rear door and there was no easy way to request help or a drink. Unfortunately for a 'hotel' the drinks were seriously lacking with only beer or soft drinks available. It was also difficult to make ourselves understood as staff did not appear to understand or speak English. This was evident at breakfast when I asked for toast but they didn't know what I was asking for, perhaps try a written menu of what is on offer? It's a lovely setting, with very nice rooms and the food was good. For a one night stay it was fine but I wouldn't really want to spend longer. It was adequate for one night but more a B&B than a hotel.

Selected the location for our hillside getaway around in Haputale/Diyatalawa. Great place with a stunning view of the hill side. Have to mention that this is a English colonial era bungalow which is over 120yrs old. I think they have renovated it to a reasonable level whilst retaining the colonial era outlook. They have 02 separately built suites/chalets with private pools as well. (newly built) Garden is nicely maintained. However, recommend a redo for the pool deck area. Staff was very good, pleasant and helpful. Food of course should mention is exquisite. We really relaxed and enjoyed our stay..

We stayed here for one night and only wished it was more. Absolutely glorious bungalow with a lovely pool and private dinner with an open fire by the pool and an early breakfast as we had to leave early. Wonderful service, amazing setting and one of the most special places I’ve ever stayed in. Will return!
