The hotel staff (especially in the restaurant) discriminates against people who are not German. We reported the problems encountered to the hotel manager and no goodwill gesture (except €6 for free parking!) was offered unless we came back to the hotel! We also had a problem with the curtains in the room (which are too small and therefore wake you up at 6 a.m.). The bedding is a bit hard and there is no headrest so it is quite uncomfortable when you want to read. Breakfast is okay but they do not restock and provide insufficient quantities compared to the number of guests. The restaurant staff does not speak English or almost not and is totally disorganized and disrespectful. There is a coffee machine but the staff does not want to use it to serve you (or at least not if you are not German!) (and it is not usable by the guests themselves so you are only allowed a coffee in a thermos). Paid parking (12€ per night to be close otherwise you have to park at the entrance to the city and pay 3€ per night!). The hotel is also quite old and could do with a refresh and cleaning of the carpets on the 3rd floor (big stain right in front of the elevator). The area is pretty and full of other hotels, so avoid this one.

We booked a double room with half-board for three nights over Easter. Upon arrival, we had to wait three hours for our room. It turned out we were assigned a single room. I tried several times to convince the receptionist that we had the wrong room (15m² instead of 26m² and a bed of 140x200cm instead of 180x200cm), but she kept insisting it was the right room. After 20 minutes, she lied, claiming she had called me the day before arrival and that I had agreed to the small room........????!!!!!!! According to the hotel, we hadn't booked half-board. After I proved we had, this was eventually corrected. The "cheaper" wines were out of stock at dinner, even though they are listed on the menu. The fish fillet was full of bones!! The next evening, when I ordered a 0.5-liter beer at dinner, I received a 0.4-liter one. The third evening, we had to wait an hour for the main course. The hotel couldn't handle the crowds at all. Far too few staff at reception, the restaurant, and housekeeping. The bill at checkout was incorrect. (Dinner was charged even though we were half board.)

We went to the restaurant today for Mother's Day. There was a four-course meal, and I have to say, we haven't eaten as well as we did tonight in a long time. It was delicious, beautifully presented, and at €49, a real bargain. Highly recommended!

Wir waren schön mehrmals dort und kommen immer gerne wieder. Nach dem Besitzerwechsel gab es einige Veränderungen aber wir haben uns weiterhin sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und versuchen trotz gelegentlich knapper Personaldecke den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Besonders die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption sind hier hervorzuheben ( Frau Sartika und die andere junge Mitarbeiterin). Auch das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet. Das Schwimmbad und der Saunabereich sind ohnehin konkurrenzlos. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Ein NoGo für den Preis. Als Gast mit Halbpension eine Stunde auf einen freien Tisch warten, Frühstück halb zehn,keine Auswahl mehr und der Kaffee zum Frühstück auch ein NoGo. Zimmer nicht so sauber für ein 4 Sterne Hotel und der Service recht unfreundlich. Keine Empfehlung an das Hotel und wir werden auch nicht wieder kommen. Sehr enttäuschend!

Het hotel zelf is prachtig, maar wat ons verblijf echt bijzonder heeft gemaakt, is het geweldige personeel. Vanaf het moment dat we aankwamen, voelden we ons enorm welkom. Kadisha bij de receptie was allerhartelijkst en zorgde voor een warm en professioneel welkom. Ook de twee dames in de bediening – de Aziatische dame en de blonde dame – hebben ons verblijf extra prettig gemaakt met hun gastvrijheid, aandacht en glimlach. Bij het ontbijt viel het op hoe de kok persoonlijk langskwam om te kijken of alles naar wens was en of alles goed aangevuld was. Dit oog voor detail en betrokkenheid maakte echt het verschil. Het hele team droeg bij aan een verblijf waarin we ons helemaal in de watten gelegd voelden. De wellnessfaciliteiten in het hotel waren ook top: fijne sauna’s, een heerlijk zwembad en alles tot in de puntjes verzorgd en schoon. De kamer was van alle gemakken voorzien en bood veel comfort. Kortom: een plek waar je niet alleen komt voor het prachtige hotel, maar vooral voor de mensen die het met hun warmte en toewijding bijzonder maken. Wij komen zeker terug!

After the change of ownership there is still room for improvement. Ms. Sartika from reception and her colleagues are very friendly. Our room was clean, the wellness area was good, breakfast was good and sufficient but there were not enough staff; the staff who served us on site were very friendly. You can see that everyone is trying hard and I also noticed what the expression "skilled labor shortage" means. My wife wanted to order a glass of Crémant, but the server didn't know what that was - oh well, it can happen. But I think that in time the Fürstenhof will shine again in its former glory like it did under the Häcker family - that would be great! We would definitely come back if there was an offer like the one from Hotel.de.

Wir kommen schon seit über 20 Jahren regelmäßig mindestens 2 mal im Jahr in den Fürstenhof. Bisher waren wir immer sehr zufrieden. In diesem Jahr war das leider nicht der Fall. Das fing schon bei der Buchung an. Wir wurden von der Zentralreservierung (Castlewood Hotels) und der Reservierung Hotel Fürstenhof hin- und her geschickt bis jemand unseren Reservierungswunsch entgegen nahm. Beim Empfang gab es keinen Gepäckservice mehr, der uns beim Koffertransport zu unseren Zimmern behilflich war. Das Frühstücksbuffet war, bis auf die aufgebackenen Brötchen ok. Es fehlte uns leider das Glaubersalzwasser. Auch die Küche für das Abendessen hat gegenüber früher doch sehr nachgelassen. Das Essen war sehr ölhaltig Das Personal war wie immer freundlich aber zum Teil total überfordert. Positiv geblieben ist die Wellnessabteilung und der SPA-Bereich mit den beiden Top-Masseurinnen. Unser Fazit ist, dass Preis und Leistung nicht mehr übereinstimmen (1 Stern zuviel). Ob wir noch einmal ihr Haus aufsuchen werden steht noch nicht fest.
