Athens Tower

The great experiences for staying at Athens Tower . It is located at the c center of Plaka.

I stayed for few hours and didn't spend a night but was able to freshen up and take a shower. Its a budget choice. The location was great, on the Monastriaki square.

I stayed here for 3 days and chose it for the location, but I honestly regret it. There is no proper lobby, just a tiny office that looks nothing like what you’d expect from a hotel. When we arrived, no one was even there to check us in. We had to call and wait for someone to come. Once he did, he put us in the elevator, which got stuck for several minutes. When it finally moved, he told us it happens all the time and to just keep pressing buttons. That should never be considered acceptable in a hotel. Throughout the stay, I ended up helping multiple guests who got stuck in that same elevator by pressing the button from my floor or the ground floor when I heard the alarm going off. The staff member even told us to keep using that elevator to avoid delaying the line of people waiting, since it gets stuck with him multiple times a day. I refused. That is not something guests should ever have to put up with. Because of the rooftop bar, the elevators were always crowded and slow. Sometimes they reached our floor but the doors wouldn’t open. It was a constant source of stress. The room was unsanitary. I killed a bug on the bed and saw a spider right when I walked in. It was extremely loud all night, with street noise that made it hard to sleep. Housekeeping only came once during the entire stay, even though we never had a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. When they finally did come, they didn’t even replace the toilet paper or bring clean towels. This is not a 4-star hotel by any means. It was loud, dirty, and poorly managed. The only positive was the location and a kind staff member named Petros, but that doesn’t make up for the overall experience. I’d avoid this place.
