Fantastic resort above Lago Maggiore
Very nice hotel with stunning views over Lago Maggiore. Super friendly and helpful staff all around. Very nice breakfast buffet with additional orders fresh from the kitchen. We unfortunately stayed only one night, but we will be back.

I was quite disappointed with hotel Casa Berno and the prime reason for the disappointment was the room. Other than the amazing view, the room did not feel like one that it could belong to a 4 star hotel. It felt like a very old room outdated bamboo furniture from the 70s, worn out carpet, bathroom that was very small with a very high bathtub and the fittings looked like they were from the 60s, very few electrical outlets - a very basic room that could not be called 4 star. I have stayed in better 3 star hotel rooms! There was not even a coffee maker in the room. I had to order tea and pay for it! The room that I had selected was a Panorama room, I had no idea that this room would be so vastly different from a “modern” panorama room that I happened to visit as our friends were staying in a “modern” room - the two rooms could have been in different hotels. The reason I give a rating of 3 stars and not less is because of the beautiful location, amazing view of the lake, beautiful outdoor pool, terrace, pick up service from Locarno, shuttle service, wonderful breakfast and efficient polite service across the board.

Fabulous hotel - amazing views (we had a room on floor B) and had an unobstructed view of the lake and towards Ascona. The staff are fabulous - very friendly, helpful and speak fabulous English. The breakfast was great - continental style and constantly replenished. The pool is amazing - loads of sunbeds dotted around and again, amazing views. Ample car parking and shuttle bus to and from ascona. We had a fabulous time and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the hotel to friends and family.

Kurzurlaub mit dem Hund. Das Personal war durchgehend sehr freundlich. Auch wenn der Hund nicht mit ins Restaurant darf, durfte er zu meiner Überraschung mit auf die Terrasse, was auch super passte. Auch da war das Personal sehr entgegenkommend und freundlich. Zimmer so wie online beschrieben und gezeigt. Aussicht wirklich top (v.a. wenn dann mal schön Wetter wäre). Umgebung sehr schön, ruhig und abgelegen. Der Shuttle nach Ascona funktionierte auch super. Sehr schöne Atmosphäre

L'ensemble de l'hôtel à la vue sur le lac. Chambre spacieuse avec grand balcon, bien propre. Restaurant et terrasse avec magnifique vue, les plats sont délicieux, le petit-déjeuner est parfait. Piscine, sauna et bain vapeur très propres et services top. Service navettes pour le centre d'Ascona impeccable.

Nach einem unkomplizierten Einchecken erfolgte eine Einweisung. Unser großes Zimmer mit direktem Seeblick war hervorragend renoviert und erstklassig möbliert. Das W-Lan funktionierte einwandfrei, der Safe ist leider nicht laptopgeeignet. Das Bad hat eine optimale Größe, ein Doppelwaschbecken und eine begehbare Dusche. Einen Adapter für die Steckdose kann man problemlos an der Rezeption ausleihen. Das angebotene Abendessen war von hervorragender Qualität und auch der Service vorbildlich. Bei gutem Wetter kann es auf der Terrasse mit grandioser Aussicht auf den Lago Maggiore eingenommen werden. Parken ist in der angrenzenden Tiefgarage oder auf einem teilweise überdachten Parkplatz oberhalb des Hotels möglich. Tagsüber gibt es mehrmals einen kostenlosen Shuttle nach Ascona. Fazit: Das hervorragend geführte, gut renovierte Privathotel können wir uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.
