"What a great experience! Very glad we spend one night at this unique place. The staff was extremely helpfull and kind.
The rooms are very decent, considering it's an old sleeper train. Just keep in mind the rooms are quite narrow so there is not a lot of space to keep luggage in the room.
And the other facilities (bathroom, common rooom) are not abundant, but clean and very much so sufficient for spending a night."

"Even in Hitoyoshi, a small town with a population of 30,000, Sagara Onsen Priority, located on the outskirts of Hitoyoshi, helps you feel the sensibility of a small Japanese city with your whole body. Friendly host, quiet and clean nature, cost-effective and spacious room, hot springs where you can see the stars at night. If you only want to have fantasy about Japan, I recommend visiting this place. I stayed for 2 nights as a rare Korean, and it feels like locals are visiting by hanging up their regular tickets. However, it is a bit unfortunate that the 24-hour convenience store is 40 minutes walk one way away from the city. You'll have to be thoroughly prepared in advance so that you don't have enough food."

"The hotel decoration for Christmas was superb & beautiful.
Initially when we checked in, the passage way at level 2 had an unpleasant musty smell but a few hours later the smell was gone. I think the hotel should look into improving the ventilation & add some aromatic scent.
The breakfast spread for 1320 yen was excellent. There were Japanese as well as Western food choices."

"The hotel is a very traditional hot spring hotel, which is very suitable for checking in and staying in Hitoyoshi as Natsume's Book of Friends. The small street directly opposite is Kagyecho where ”Tateyama Shoten” is located. The rooms are very spacious and Western-style. The breakfast buffet and set menu are all very good, including the specialty honeydew melon. Facing the Kuma River, the ruins of Hitoyoshi Castle are across the river, and the scenery is beautiful!"
