W Sardinia - Poltu Quatu

"This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff is very friendly and the concierge team was very helpful. The lobby is stunning. Breakfast was delicious with great variety. The rooms are gorgeous. You will be greeted by all Frette - linens, fluffy bath sheets, and slippers. The housekeeping was excellent, always providing waters each morning and at turndown, leaving a lip balm on one night. The pool is lovely. It is a pretty special hotel. The landscaping is very mature and, honestly, beautiful. Poltu Quatu is a tiny port. It contains the hotel, approximately 6 restaurants, and 4 shops. This makes it feel like one large resort. It's not walkable to any other areas. That said, none of Costa Smeralda is really walkable. We didn't rent a car and you aren't stepping foot outside of the hotel under 50 euro each way. We struggled a little because we didn't want to deal with parking and worrying about drinking and then returning back to the hotel. I'd probably rent a car next time. I just want to mention this to explain the setting. It's a sleepy and beautiful spot which gets lively for 9 pm dinner. This hotel is a 10/10. There is still a little construction but I think it's wrapping up and didn't bother me. It was pretty removed."

Hotel Cala di Volpe, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Costa Smeralda

"I honestly don't understand the pricing wisdom of the geniuses that run this hotel. They charge a fortune for the room which, to be fair, if you don't like it, don't book! However, once you get over the exorbitant room rate, don't charge €15 for a tiny Cola Zero or €18 for a double espresso. That is simply slapping the consumer in the face. I honestly would rather you charge a higher room rate and have all these minor amenities included. It would leave a much better feel for guests. Given how popular your hotel is, once you book in advance the pricing sting is taken out of the stay far in advance and expectations are high. But, then it is stupid prices for soft drinks, coffee, Padel and water sports. It all leaves a bad taste. A child can't have a soft drink anywhere in the property less than €15. Do you really need that F&B margin to survive? Price it into the room!!! I fully understand paying for alcohol. I'd gladly pay the extra cost for cocktails in your fantastic bar. That is a pure option and not all are alcohol drinkers. Your business psychologists are clearly caught between luxury European and American pay-for-every extra (as it is Marriott). I guarantee you that 90% of your negative reviews would go away by a room rate that includes (at a minimum) soft drinks and coffee. Same goes for tennis, water sports and Padel. Don't advertise great facilities if they are not included. For all your seemingly sophistication, you are missing some basic consumer fundamentals. Also, a tip on checkout for the hotel staff? Seriously? What a joke! Offer it to your wait staff or lunch bills. Why to the overall organisation? Back to business school...."

"This is a comfortable small hotel situated on a beautifully landscaped and maintained property in the country near Arzachena. The rooms are large and updated, with beautiful modern bathrooms in particular. Breakfast is generous and delicious and offered in a beautiful room indoors or on the patio. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend for anyone visiting this area."

"We didn't like Porto Cervo at all. It was a city built by modern people from wasteland. It has no cultural foundation and gives people a fake feeling. The waiters' attitude is also hypocritical. The prices are extremely high, and the restaurant's food is not authentic. This dissatisfaction has affected our correct evaluation of this hotel. We do not recommend it."

"I have been to Sardinia a couple of times but this was my first time on the Costa Smerelda and I wanted a hotel in a resort not in the middle of nowhere like so many seem to be in this area, so I chose Baja Sardinia and the hotel Cormorano. The hotel is very traditional Sardinian design, simple but comfortable. My room was a decent size and very bright, a comfortable bed, plenty of storage space and a large bathroom with a great walk in shower. I only had breakfast at the hotel but there was always a huge choice of fruit, cereal, hot and cold food and excellent tea and coffee from the machine. I loved the pool area of the hotel, always quiet and relaxing with a great pool bar serving drinks and snacks. The hotel is in the perfect spot in the resort, just behind the shops, bars and restaurants and just a couple of minutes from the beach. The staff were all Friendly and attentive, the room always very clean. Overall a very relaxing peaceful stay."

"“€100 per night — €80 for nature, €20 for what the campsite actually does” The location is absolutely stunning, but let’s be honest — that’s thanks to nature, not the campsite itself. You’re paying €100 per night, and it feels like €80 of that is just for being near a beautiful bay, while €20 goes toward what the campsite actually provides (and that’s being generous). The pizza at the restaurant is decent, but the rest of the food is below average. Entrance and exit times are unreasonably strict, making you feel trapped on-site, like a resort with rules — but without the comfort or facilities to justify it. The beach lifeguards are rude and unwelcoming, which kills the vibe fast. What really ruins it though is the nighttime noise. There’s a nearby beach club that plays music until around 2 AM — annoying but manageable. But from then until 5 AM, the bass hits so hard it feels like you’re in the crowd of a music festival. Getting any sleep is nearly impossible. Some toilet blocks are modern and well-kept, but most are outdated and clearly past their prime. The grounds are dusty, unpaved, and poorly maintained — nothing feels clean or fresh. Watch out for the so-called “premium pitches”: some are lovely, but others are right next to smelly toilet buildings with zero view or comfort. It’s a gamble. To be fair, the reception staff is friendly — credit where it’s due. ⸻ ✅ Final verdict: This place survives on its natural beauty, not on the quality of the campsite. Unless you’re completely deaf or don’t care about sleeping, don’t stay more than 1 or 2 nights. It’s absolutely not worth €100 per night."
