Wyndham Garden Anchorage Airport

You won’t remember anything about this generic hotel, which I guess is fine. It’s a place to sleep either before or after a flight. It’s less than five minutes from the airport. The room I had was very large, but it’s not your typical room. I’m guessing it was upgraded room 309 because I’m a Wyndham diamond member. It was actually so large. It was weird to sleep in. It appears that there was mold or a burn mark on the upper part of the shower curtain, the other nit I would pick is despite the room being created catered to business travelers, there is no notepad paper on the desk. It was kind of weird having a large conference table in the middle of the room. A complementary breakfast is what to be expected in a budget hotel. I can get that stuff, but if you’re cheaper in a hurry and need something to eat, it’s there.

We stayed on in July 2025 and this was a horrible experience. Was given a room with mold in the bathroom and front desk unhappy when we asked for other room.

The breakfast was excellent. However, for the room price, I was surprised that only the shower worked; I couldn’t fill the tub because it was only set on shower. The TV guide and actual TV channels were incorrect and I couldn’t find shows from the guide; the bathroom door handle was very loose, and only 2 of the four bathroom lights worked. When the cleaning people took our towels after the first day, they didn’t not leave ANY new towels or water cups. I did appreciate that the front desk held our luggage after we checked out so we did not have to carry luggage around all day at the hospital. That was very helpful.

Had a cancelled flight on midnight of 12th July (that’s around 2am on 13th). Called the Wyndham Garden Anchorage number on their google page and was very clear and confirmed multiple times that I need a stay for the for next 6-8 hours and not for the night of 13th. Agent confirmed that’s the case and I am in good hands. They charged my card and when I went to the hotel, receptionist told me they have no rooms available and the reservation in my name was for the next night. I asked if she can cancel and was told I need to call the customer care. I called right in front of her and was directed to the lady at the reception only! Then I was provided another number which I did call and after discussing for nearly 30 minutes, hey said hotel is refusing to refund. They created a support case and asked me to wait for a week for response! Now I am left with a $330 charge on my credit card for a reservation I didn’t ask for and a room I did not stay at. This is for all those who are making a late night reservation. Be careful and don’t make a payment till you reach the hotel in person.

Looking for a place to spend the night between flights into and out of Anchorage I opted for Wyndham. The hotel was just what I needed. It was clean and quiet, the front desk personnel were friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast was decent. The only hiccup was the airport shuttle. We were told it ran every 10 to 15 minutes,, We called after waiting 20 minutes and again after 30 minutes. The van showed up after a 40 minute wait. No explanation was provided. The next morning the van delivered us promptly back to the airport with no problems. It was a different driver. All in all a reasonable price for the service.
