We loved it here even though it was only for one night. The hotel and room were beautifully designed. The room was clean and had many amenities and lots of seating options. The bed was so comfortable and towels were plush. The shower was great and many areas to hang towels/clothes. It may be something silly but I hate when hotel bathrooms only have one hook to hang things. The most annoying thing was the walk to the room. The floors have thick carpet so it makes rolling a suitcase difficult and it can be quite a walk. I felt like I was on a cruise ship walking to my room. We ate at the restaurant and the food was delicious. The staff were lovely there as well. Hotel is in a convenient location, very close to shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again if back in the area.

Overall great after a minor hiccup. Vishnu and team made our stay pleasant and answered our questions satisfactorily. They were flexible with our multiple changes on our last day due to flight issues.

The Good: Good free WiFi Chromecast that actually works (a rarity in hotels) Good location, easy to walk everywhere downtown. The breakfast and evening drinks at the on-site Crimson restaurant. The coffees in the lobby coffee shop. The Bad: Front desk would not provide me with a receipt for the $400 deposit they took on arrival or confirmation it had been released when I left. Read a few reviews saying people were still chasing their deposits weeks later so hopefully it comes back in the next few days. The hotel is huge so you spend ages walking thru corridors, the lift by the reception goes to the 3rd floor but when you get out you have to walk down 6 stairs to get to the rooms so it’s not suitable for any one with a mobility issue or moving heavy luggage, instead you have to haul all the way down to the back of the hotel trying to wheel suitcases across thick carpet, a massive design fail. The room was mostly clean when we checked in, save for a few bits of plastic wrapping under the sink that had been missed. But during the course of our 4 night stay there didn’t appear to be any further housekeeping until on the 3rd morning we put the ‘request housekeeping’ sign on the door in the hope of fresh towels etc then went out for around 4 hours. When we came back the cleaning carts in the hall had hardly moved and our room hadn’t been touched. We asked the cleaner in the corridor who said some rubbish about not being allowed to clean the room if it wasn’t on the list - then what is the point of the signs to hang on the door in the room? - but she would try and get to it ‘soon’. We went to sit in the lobby and wait… after an hour we went to check and still it hadn’t been started… at this point we went up the front desk to see if there was something they could do. The assistant manager Kameron went to check and assured us it would be done ‘soon’ - I should mention here it happened on my birthday… so whilst we waited he did bring me a birthday treat in the form of some fried Brie from the kitchen, and said he would comp us breakfast, both kind gestures much appreciated. Eventually after another 45 minutes, the room was finally done - all in all I spent 1 hour and 45 minutes of my birthday sat in a lobby waiting for new towels in my room and for that reason I cannot rate this hotel any higher than a 3/5. Overall had the above incident not happened I would’ve given it at least a 4/5 but it definitely dampened my birthday and that I can’t forgive.

The Wildbirch hotel is a rebrand of the hotel to a Hyatt property along with a renovation. The hotel is located in downtown Anchorage in close proximity to some great restaurants and close to the shore. The reception area is nice and cozy with a fireplace from which you can see the bar and restaurant of the hotel. Check-in was smooth and I had no issues. There is a charge for parking per day of $15 which in at the back of the hotel on the 1st floor. The rooms were nice while a little small, but still clean and newly refurbished. The room had a refrigerator, safe, TV and coffee maker. There was no microwave in the room. I found the bed to be comfortable and the sheets to be very clean. The bathroom was also very clean with no mold anywhere. While I wish they opted to refurbish with a full shower, the tub was fine. I found the water to be hot when needed, but lacking a bit in pressure. The towels were large and much better than most hotel towels I have used. We did try the restaurant one night and only found the food to be okay and not great. Luckily there are some fantastic restaurants within a block or two of the hotel. While not noted, there is a workout facility on the 1st floor that has a lot of equipment including free weights and a Peloton. However, the workout room is basically all glass and next to the event area, so if there is an event going on, they are all watching you workout. I feel that they really need to frost the glass here. All in all, I would definitely recommend staying at the Wildbirch hotel.

The location is excellent. The restaurant offers a nice variety of foods and everything I've eaten during two trips to Anchorage has been well prepared/presented. The resident rates are very reasonable and the attention to detail with the interior design really shows!!
