Villa Las Tronas Hotel & Spa

So beautiful, so authentic, so charming- and most of all- the couple that own this hotel are so kind and wonderful. It feels like you are a guest in their beautiful mansion. The spa is so clean, so sterile, and private. The views are spectacular. The food is wonderful- especially the vongole - cooked very al dente and hot. This is the only place anyone should consider to stay in Alghero, and it is the best in Sardegna.

Absolutely loved it! At first we thought it had a Shabby chic look but the more we stayed there the more we LOVED it. We kept extending day after day and the reason was, we did not want to go anywhere else because this place was perfect. We had the Maestrale Suite which had a huge deck with hot tub. The staff was fabulous. The cocktails (and appetizers) were excellent and that is not always easy to find in Italy. They were prepared perfectly. The hotel is on beautiful grounds with a nice pool and steps into the ocean. The only thing that would have made it better is a little service poolside but it was late in the season. The walk to town is about 15 minutes and lovely and very safe. I discovered the spa too late and am still kicking myself for not using it every day. There is a lovely warm salt water pool and two types of steam rooms. It was dreamy!

A splendid holiday that was as reassuring as it ever was. A singular property, a location that defies a star rating ( Six is the current maximum) and the comfort of the same staff who are unfailingly a delight, breakfast on the terrace a remarkable way to start the day, a pool, access to the sea and a 10 minute stroll into town adds to the experience. We’ll be back next year, this is not a typical 5 Star hotel, but so much better that you can’t help feeling lucky to stay.

I honestly can’t believe anybody would say anything bad about this hotel. I travel quite a bit throughout Europe and this is one of my favorite hotels. You definitely feel like you’re living in the past when you step in. It’s kind of a magical hotel!! The furnishings are lovely and old and the floors are absolutely stunning with some sort of inlaid tile or something. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful. I would like to give a shout out to Mario the bartender —he was pleasant and funny and always asking everyone if they were doing OK. He seemed to work a lot so it was nice to have a pleasant person around checking on us. We brought my daughter and her boyfriend and they were both blown away about how nice the hotel was. It’s an extremely short walk to town and if you can’t walk that far, you probably shouldn’t be traveling through Europe. The gym is huge, which is nice for me because I like to work out. Plenty of places to get exercise and walk along the beautiful waterfront. We didn’t eat at the hotel except for breakfast, but it was very good. We got two balcony rooms and I would say that was so Worth the extra money. Every night we sat outside and looked at the stars and listened to the ocean crashing and again it seemed like something in a dream and magical. And in another note, if you are American as we are— news flash!!—. We are not exactly Europe’s favorite tourists right now. I never felt any animosity at all at this hotel by the staff but one of the taxi drivers not associated with the hotel was rude to us. The employees here are all a class act. Thank you for your kindness!! I didn’t take any pictures of the resort itself just pictures with us in them so sorry for that but you can see how beautiful the view views are from these pictures. We loved this place! The pictures don’t do it justice; it’s absolutely stunning and a beautiful and short walk to town. It’s super close to a cool beach club as well. The entire staff is super friendly, we especially loved Mario who went out of his way to play with our daughter Lia! Would come back here in a heartbeat. Only wished they played music at the pool but I’m sure not all hotel guests would like this.
