Bluesea Playa Azul ★★★

📍 Passeig Marítim, 27, Cala en Porter

"What a good find. We came for a short break to relax and have some peace and quiet and thats exactly what we got! The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff all very friendly. The pool area is lovely and perfect for relaxing. The views are stunning with the beautiful beach right in front of the hotel. Bars and restaurants just a minute around the corner. We got the bus from the airport which was around 4 euros each and took around 30 minutes but got a taxi back to the airport which the hotel booked for us. Was 20 euros and took 13 minutes. We loved everything about this hotel and location and will definitely return"

📍 Urbanizacion, Son Bou

"Ok , great location without a question . Small rooms we can live with that. Food was flavourless in the main and often barely warm. Of course there were some better evenings. We came just before the season started the pool area was lovely but the pool was freezing. I would imagine if the hotel is full there will also be a lot of waiting for lifts . It was a pleasant stay but we will not be returning."

📍 Carrer Atalis, 102, San Jaime Mediterraneo

"Lovely part of Menorca! The room suelta tad damp upon arrival but it was huge. Breakfast was awesome and a decent gym. Staff was lovely and there is a good shuttle bus which takes you to the nearby beach. I recommend staying here - didnt try the pool as the weather wasnt great but it rather large."

Castell de Lô ★★★

📍 Av. Central, 75, Illes Balears, Cala en Porter

"It is not a place to rest, there are construction noises and it is impossible to sleep on the mattress. I was in a room for one person with a small bed and the mattress sank. I had to put my head where my feet go. They have to change the mattress."

📍 Ctra. Mao, Km.10, Cala en Porter, Alaior

"Nice place to stay. Good restaurant, jacaranda. Servicelevel dropped during our 4-night stay. A formal complaint to the hotel's manager was not answered at all and upon check-out she totally ignored us. I am not sure it was worth the 7K in total expenses. After Torrelbenc, we went to Mallorca and finally came back to Menorca at Gran Faustino Hotel in Ciutadella. Definitely, the latter has a much better service level."

📍 Playa de Son Bou, s/n, Son Bou

"Returned this July for 10 days having had an outstanding visit in June last year. The food was as good as last year and restaurant staff work tirelessly to clear tables and help guests. We stayed on an all inclusive basis and felt food offered a good variety during our stay. We preferred La Basilica for breakfast as was next to Kikoland and Los Olivios for dinner. Lunch in either snack bar or at Los Olivios and also offered good variety. Drinks were good quality and table service during nightly entertainment and at dinner was a nice touch. We stayed again in a one bed pool view apartment with sofa bed in lounge for children. This felt quite a small set up both years but as we were AI we didn’t need the cooking facilities. The view to pool was great. Kikoland is without a doubt the standout of the hotel. My 11 year old took part in activities all day (football, table tennis, water polo, aqua dance etc) and loved the Royal Club in evening with friends where they played pool, table tennis and PS5/Nintendo, all whilst supervised by entertainment staff. Although my 6 year old was more hesitant with activities, we stayed with him in Kikoland and he loved the colouring in, soft play, bouncy castle and the foam party. Special mention to Serj, Claudia, Leonard, Anna, Edu, Sezar and Rosa who are a credit to the hotel (and many more whose names I didn’t get). We had a 10 day break from start of July and the first week felt a lot more relaxing and calm. The last few days there was an influx of new guests and things felt a lot busier. Restaurants required a small wait at door to let tables finish and for staff reset tables (not a big issue as was done very quickly). Restaurants as a result felt much much busier when dining. This was not the case end of June last year or our first week in July. Another niggle in final few days was the reserving of sunbeds. We had no issue at start of break returning from breakfast around 10 and securing pool side beds. However, at end of stay all beds were reserved, yet sat empty, some for long periods. The hotel states reserving is not tolerated and a note attached to each bed. This is as absolutely not enforced and I spoke to other guests sharing similar frustrations. Final niggle was the sound proofing in apartments. Our bedroom backed onto another apartment and we had many wakeups due to crying, shouting and general noise through the wall. We didn’t experience this last year so we’re perhaps just unlucky with location. Overall another great stay and we will consider returning next year, earlier than we did this year. It’s an outstanding hotel for families and one I think we will struggle to beat. Thanks to all at RSB!!"

"Located in a beautiful part of Menorca, Son Bou is a lovely place to visit with plenty of good, local restaurants. We eat out regularly and the food was great! Beach was only a 2 minute walk from the hotel! Now the hotel.. We stayed all inclusive. Hotel wise, it was clean with daily room cleans and towel changes. The pool was nice with a robotic pool cleaner cleaning away each evening too. The beds were terribly uncomfortable. Very hard and stiff mattress, we did not enjoy a single nights sleep! We complained and we were offered a mattress topper, which was exactly that! a thin piece of fabric which made no difference what so ever. Beach/pool towels are available at reception which were of a good size and were used a lot during our stay here. Food - by far not the greatest. Plenty of options but we found ourselves eating fruit and salads as occasionally we’d try the meat dishes to find bacon half cooked, chicken pink in the middle or pork that was all grizzly and chewy hence why we eat out a lot! The Staff never appeared to be happy apart from the entertainment staff. Bar - we often found ourselves lining up at the bar just to be ignored completely and they’d serve others behind us in the queue first. Drinks were often messed up due to a language barrier and they operate by giving you a token on arrival, you exchange the token for a drink (in a plastic beaker/cup) you get your token back when you hand back your cup. Pool tables in the bar area kept on playing up, swallowing money and not giving the balls out but reception would always refund you. Language barrier - we’re not great at Spanish and many staff members aren’t great at English, making conversations, drinks ordering etc difficult. Over all, if the mattresses weren’t so uncomfortable I probably would stay here again but I wouldn’t opt for all inclusive. The location is faultless with plenty to do on the area and regular buses available to take you to other areas in the country."

"We spotted the Hotel and Restaurant on Google maps whilst in Menorca on a family holiday . The lunch menu looked good so we decided to book a table . Whist driving through the main gates and towards the venue it didn't take long to realise this is a very special place indeed. The hotel and restaurant is absolutely stunning and the staff were very polite and helpful. The food was amazing and we literally wanted everything off the menu. Afterwards we went for a walk to the cliff edge where the views were incredible. A very good afternoon with good memories."

"our children have bought a voucher for a menù degustaciòn & cata de vino to celebrate our 40th anniversary of wedding. Upon our arrival we asked what the menu was including in terms of wine and the waitress told us with nonchalance that we could take a bottle of wine. We have chosen one of your Torralbenc white wines, which honestly speaking was not what we expected from a location and wine maker such as you're supposed to be. On top of that, boh waitresses had major difficulties explaining every dish course which made the experience even more difficult. We must say that this experience was rather disappointing both in terms of food and wine. Nobody told us that we paid a surcharge to taste more than only one wine - at least the experience could have been a bit more exciting. Anyhow, be sure that we will not recommend your location."

"I returned a few days ago from our second lovely holiday here with my family. We stayed in the Hooky sea view room. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. The food was buffet style and very tasty, I ate fish and veg every day. My 5 year old son had everything he liked- they cater very well to children!. The pool is fab and to be honest we spent most of our time here enjoying the sun and swimming. My favourite activity was pool aerobics and dancing, the staff made it so fun, extra points if you do it drunk. The best thing about the resort is the staff, they are so welcoming and accommodating. I’m particularly grateful to Anabella for helping to organise a cake for my husbands birthday up in Los Olivos, It was so last minute that I asked and she still pulled it out of the bag for me, Fernando was also amazing here too, thank you. Iker and Jorge were wonderful, they went the extra mile every day, were lovely with our son and with us. It was great to see them again. I hope that the hotel recognises and rewards staff like them. The children’s activities are good at Kiko land, the splash pad is a nice addition. The children’s club staff work really hard putting on shows and running activities during the day in the boiling heat. They do such a great job. We are booking 14 nights next summer. And looking forward to returning. I think this place is worth coming to, it’s very family oriented and caters well to that demographic. If you come here you won’t be disappointed."
