Ghion Hotel Reviews

I usually do not write reviews but I feel I have to make an exception this time. I am a frequent traveler and from the reviews of this hotel, I thought I give this hotel a try since I have stayed in worst rated hotels before - however this hotel turns out to be the worst hotel I have ever stay in my 18 years of travelling for work almost every other week across 5 continents. First night, I had to shower in another room because there was no water to my room, Second day, water heater was fixed only late at night. Fourth day, no water again - could not shower. Some bulbs in the room are not working, data roaming only accessible near window. Have directed 5 of my colleagues arriving tomorrow to stay at other hotel. Would not recommend this hotel to anybody. We have business dealing in Addis - I will not return to this hotel ever again.

The breakfast and ambiance were highly rated. The facilities were lacking. The staff's hospitality and the manager's level were both rated 59. The surroundings were excellent.

Pros 1. Centrally located, convenient for major commercial areas 2. Comfortable environment, quiet amidst the hustle and bustle Cons 1. The bathroom floor didn't drain properly, allowing shower water to flow into the room 2. The hot water wasn't hot enough 3. The staff was poorly qualified and often ignored questions 4. During holidays, there were outdoor events, resulting in loud noise until midnight 5. The breakfast was expensive and of low quality
