The Aberdeen Altens Hotel Reviews

Staff friendly, food good but rooms very basic and dated, no frills type hotel. Pool smaller than pictures appear, very small. Only bonus is the hot tub is super hot which is great! Overall it’s a place to put your head down, beds comfy but nothing much more.

Unfortunately our room smelt of damp/wet dog so went to reception to inform them and asked for an air freshener, the gentleman at reception went and spoke with someone else and then took me to see 2 other rooms, these rooms both had the same smell so we stuck with the room we were currently in as we had our 4 year old with us. The gentleman from reception came back with some air freshener spray which I was allowed to use and then he took it away again. We have stayed here a few times before and never noticed the smell. The carpet was filthy/old as well which was probably where the smell was coming from. The breakfast was okay, 1 pancake machine which took ages to make pancakes which our 4 year old wanted but because it was popular there was always a queue, could be doing with another couple of them? I don't think we will stay here again, which is unfortunate as it's where we usually stay as it's easy to get to and not right in the middle of the city and has ample parking.

Very consistent and the staff are lovely. The rooms need a little modernisation.

Excellent Hotel and Location near for City Centre and Places to visit Dolphins and Harbour.People who Work at this Hotel are outstanding and the Rooms and Breakfast and Meals are excellent as is the Leisure Facilities and the Housekeeping are so polite and Rooms clean.Have stayed here previously and extra Nights and same on this visit.Thank You.Have recommended to others.

Hotel was fine, rooms could do with some tlc. Both lifts were out of order.

A few minutes away from aberdeen. Be prepared to ride the bus or have a car/bike available. Hotel renovated in 2021, modern, clean interior. Spa includes a new and clean steam room and sauna at no additional cost. English breakfast & coffee were ok.

Beautiful hotel, very clean so lovely, breakfast n dinner was fabulous. I love this hotel very much when next I visit Aberdeen I must lodge there.

Great hotel

Room was not the cleanest but that can be rectified. The service and hospitality was 1st class.

A hotel with over 200 rooms and a beautiful indoor pool with a steam room, regular sauna, and whirlpool. Large rooms with very comfortable beds and pillows. A bright bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Large parking lot (fee 3 GBP/24 hours). About a 10-minute drive to the city center.
