Shonai Hotel Suiden Terrasse

i loved it so much! this place is perfect to just enjoy the scenery and weather! the onsen was perfect! take note that there’s nothing much around the area and it’s recommended to drive instead! the interior of the hotel was lovely and i loved the smell of wood everywhere! i throughly enjoyed staying here. the walls are abit hallow can hear other people closing door loudly, talking really loud etc.. the corridors are abit cold, and i found that the G area was really cold! (onsen/gym/sake block) however that could be due to the renovations! i would stay again if i had the chance to!

When you arrive at Zao Station, you can call the hotel. There is free pick-up and drop-off at the hotel during the day. It only takes more than 10 minutes to walk. The hotel is quite big, with Japanese-style rooms and Japanese-style facilities. The area is also good. It is very spacious for 2 people. There is a snowy scene outside the window. The outdoor hot spring is also very good. You can soak in the hot spring and watch the snow scene. You can catch the snow with your hands. The cable car station for watching the snow scene and skiing is very close. There is not much food in this place. The hotel does not provide lunch or dinner. You have to go out to eat. It takes about 10 minutes to walk out to eat. There are more people on weekends and the prices are higher, so it’s best not to go there on weekends

A wonderful place to stay in. The service was fantastic. The room was huge, much too large for just a solo traveler like me but it would have been perfect if I had brought my wife and child along. The onsen quality was great, albeit the fittings at the shower area were a bit old. The food was hands down amazing and featured great local produce. Honestly there was too much for one person to finish! What I especially liked was that they had a separate room on the first floor where if it was too early for you to check in, you could drop your luggage off, change, and then grab your gear and head to the slopes. Same thing if you intend to charge the slopes a bit more on your last day, just leave your stuff in the storage room, hit the slopes, come back and change out, hit the onsen for the last time, then go off. Definitely recommending this place to my friends visiting Zao.

Access to this onsen is a little difficult. While only a 5 minute walk from the bus station, there are steep steps to the entrance. Although the website states that the onsen was founded in 1716 and is very historic, there is little evidence of that history except in the foyer and adjoining lounge area, which are quite pleasant and finished in warm timbers and have an antique feeling. The rest of the onsen is modern, but navigating is a challenge as there are many passages and stairways, all of which were underheated and drafty. Even the dining room where we ate our meals was chilly, with rugs provided for warmth! The food was excellent and the staff friendly and obliging. our room was adequate but nothing special and the baths were good, although the publicity picture of the outdoor bath is very misleading - it shows a view of trees whereas the reality is a close view of unsightly concrete reinforcing of the adjoining hillside. We were somewhat disappointed with our stay here, having expected to experience a more historic character and traditional experience.

It is an old hotel, so you may not want to take a bath in your room, but their public bath is good. This place is on the hill which means you will not want to walk by your own in winter because of the slippery Mountain path. But in other hand it is really convenient because they provide shuttle bus to bus station or cable car station. And there is a ski place just in front of the hotel, you can borrow the equipments from hotel.

I stayed in a room with foot bath and hot springs. I was able to disinfect my fingers at the entrance and disinfect the room at the front desk. In addition, it was the impression that Nakai would take care of the hot spring, such as the guide of the room at the front desk to prevent infection, and it was the impression that the countermeasure was firm. I was a little lost in a quite large building. I saw the mountain of Zao and had a good view from foot bath and hot springs. It was hot water. The female amenities had local cosmetics trials. I don't know because I don't use a large bath. I think the dishes were the amount of couples who were full in the morning and evening. Dinner was a plan to choose steak meat and rice. I think there is another plan. I was very good value for money because of go to travel. You may not stay in a room with a hot spring many times. . . But it was a hot spring that I wanted to stay again. It's a hard time, but I want you to work hard. Thank you.
Zaimoku Sakaeya Ryokan

After reading the introduction of this hot spring hotel, Zaimu Sakaeya Hotel was once a hotel in a logging camp and a timber wholesaler with a history of more than 100 years. The entire hot spring hotel uses a large amount of logs for decoration and construction, which is very unique. The single room I stayed in was very new and very clean. Breakfast is a set meal, and miso soup, tea, drinks, etc. are also provided. At this price, it's a great value. Since there is no shuttle bus, it takes about 15 minutes to walk from Kaminoyama Onsen Station to Zaiki Sakaeya.

There is no doubt that it is a first-class inn! It is an inn with great employee education. It's been a while since I've been in the room recently, but it was an inn that brought my luggage to my room. The inside of the inn is large and the garden is magnificent and too luxurious! It was like a maze. Supper is easy because you can have it in a private room. The explanation of the food was young, but it is very solid. There were many vegetables such as wild plants for breakfast, and there were many maba tofu and kotteri Chinese dishes, so I thought it was unusual, and the maba tofu I took was amazing. Of course, all the dishes are delicious, but the rice is what impresses me. Yamagata rice is really delicious. It was a long and elongated variety and I liked it very much. You may not be able to expect the view from the room because the room you stayed in was on the 3 floor. I really don't say anything, but if I say one thing, I was worried that when I left the room, I always smelled the food from the kitchen.
Super Hotel Yamagata Tsuruoka

The room isn't gorgeous, but it's compact but comfortable with a large desk and sofa. There is also a refrigerator, so you can drink the juice you bought cold. The wall-mounted TV is large, and if the weather is fine, you can always gaze out at Mt. Chokai from the window. The large public bath with alkaline spring quality is comfortable. I was able to check in quickly and relax. The welcome drink had a rich repertoire of local sake, and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks, so I had a good time every night. The dinner bento plan is a special mention, and every side dish at the city bento shop makunouchi is delicious. It may be the first time that I was satisfied with the meal at the makunouchi bento. Good breakfast. Tsuyahime was delicious, and I was satisfied with the side dishes made with local ingredients. Above all, it is the staff. Front desk staff, breakfast venue staff, natural smiles and voices. Regarding the corona countermeasures, I was very impressed with the fact that they were resolutely enlightened so that they could hear properly about wearing masks and gloves. The area around the hotel is quiet, but there is a convenience store next door, and there is a shopping center and a downtown area around the station within 10 minutes, so it was nice to take a short walk. Since I stayed for several nights, I stayed at the hotel during the day, but I was able to spend a very comfortable holiday because I was able to visit delicious foods in the city instead of visiting unreasonable sightseeing spots.

There are very detailed Chinese versions of accommodation, soup introduction and instructions in the museum. Whether it is the surrounding attractions, shops or souvenir introductions, it is very clear. If you have any questions, you can also ask the Taiwanese staff in the hotel, they are happy to help passengers. If you are too lazy to go out, there is a horse hall and the most famous sandwich selling Tibetan kings - ”shubing roman” and the famous mountain production ”Zhongtiao Shantou”, which is very convenient ~~ There are open-air hot springs and family box hot springs in the hall. There are also rock pan baths in the large baths. It is really healing! In addition to wanting to soak in the hot springs, I also want to experience Japanese hot spring cuisine. The dinner and breakfast at the horse restaurant are very rich and delicious, and there is a Chinese drink list. It is super convenient to order!
