Has a great stay and will be back. The hotel is conveniently situated on top of the shopping mall and next to train station. Parking is just in b1 and the hotel will give you discount when parking in b1 which cost only 1.000 yen for overnight parking. The room is nice and super comfy to stay. The staffs are all so attentive and friendly.

I recently stayed at a wonderful hotel in Aso, and it was an unforgettable experience. The location is absolutely stunning—nestled in the heart of Aso’s beautiful nature, with breathtaking views right from the room. The hotel’s onsen was a highlight, offering a relaxing and peaceful way to soak in the scenery. The food was also incredible, with delicious local dishes that really captured the flavors of the region. The vibes throughout the hotel were warm and cozy, making it feel like a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle. The only downside was that the bed was a bit small for two people, so it felt a little tight. But everything else more than made up for it. The hotel also offers plenty of parking, so getting around was easy. The price was definitely reasonable for the experience, and given the amazing views, great food, and tranquil onsen, it felt like a great value. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of Aso!

Great value for what we have paid for. Efficient check-in process. High quality public bath facilities with two hot hot springs (one indoor and one outdoor), one sauna and one cold water pool. Although this hotel is listed as a 3-star hotel, we would say it is much better than many 4-star hotels in many regards. The employees at the check-in desk speak decent English too.

Disadvantages: Old five-star hotel, the facilities feel old, there is air conditioning in the room, but it only provides heating, can not be switched to cooling, the window needs to be opened, probably because March is still considered winter, the waiter said it will cool down at night Advantages: convenient location, close to Mount Aso, with convenience stores and gas stations nearby; although the hotel is relatively old, it is still a five-star hotel, the service quality is still maintained, and the cost-effectiveness is high; the hotel lobby is very large, there are many rooms, divided into several buildings, the surrounding environment is beautiful and quiet; there is a free parking lot; I booked a Japanese-style room, with a Japanese-style mini living room and a Western-style bed, and the space is quite large; the hotel provides yukata and bath products; there are several baths, of course, divided into men's and women's baths, and you can also book a private hot spring from the hotel, there are three options, the time and charge of each private bath is 2000 yen per 50 minutes; you can also purchase a buffet dinner and buffet breakfast when booking a room, there are many types of food, and the quality is quite good.

Bath areas on the 12th floor are also quite nice and have a range of offerings inside. Breakfast was included with the price we paid, however, all the food was a little tasteless, if paying for breakfast, it is easy to go downstairs and get something but I’d probably go somewhere else if paying.

It is located near the golf course hotel halfway up Aso Volcano. It has a beautiful environment and you can see the stars in the sky at night. The dinner buffet style includes delicious long-legged crab legs, as well as all-you-can-drink hot and cold sake. It takes just over 20 minutes to drive to the Aso Volcano Museum.

I stayed at this hotel twice. The second time (this booking) we had a room on the older (?) wing and it was almost twice the size of the first one. So for this review I will only share feedback on this “older” room. This room was big and thus good for us as we had 2 large luggage and more space in the room allowed us to open and pack our luggages with ease. The bathroom was large with the large traditional bathtub. Toilet had bidet and etc but lacked heating which made it very cold in the winter. Basin tap was still the old turn types which was not eco friendly as it’s more difficult to shut it off. Location was just opposite the train station which was excellent. But the nearest convenience store is also only at the train station which is about a 5-7mins walk away. Breakfast was curated to suit the Japanese palette more and ends at 9a.m which is really way too early!! We left something behind in the hotel but they managed to send the item back to us at our new hotel (still in Japan) which was highly appreciated. Despite a few minor shortcomings listed above, the pros still outweigh the cons and I’ll definitely be happy to stay here again.

It takes a long time to walk to find a convenience store downstairs. The room is of moderate size, the hotel service is very good, and the price is very affordable, just over 300 on weekends, and it was only over 900 for three nights. There is an artificial hot spring on the 3rd floor of the hotel, which is actually a large bathhouse. It is said to have the effect of relieving back pain, shoulder pain, etc. The environment is not bad. After a day of playing, it is very refreshing to go back to the hotel and soak in the hot spring. It is recommended not to take a bath in the room, as the bathroom is a bit small. Overall, if you can continue to live here at this price, it is very good. If the price is higher, it is not recommended.

The service attitude of the counter staff was good, and the accommodation rules were clearly explained. The public bathhouse on the first floor is well-equipped. There was a little girl crawling in the outdoor female public pool on the top floor, so I didn't go there. There are many types of breakfast, and there is unlimited supply of Aso milk. When I was looking at the photos, I didn't know that it was Tata me. I was not used to the small size of the room. Compared with the hot springs in Ureshino, the hot springs are obviously not as slippery. But if you really book this hotel, it would be better to book one with a bed frame. But fortunately, the distance is good, and the scenery is super beautiful after the rain! So I pushed the suitcase and took a photo without knowing it. ～ 1. There is a sister at the front desk who can communicate in English, and the basic communication is completely fine! The accommodation is on the second floor. Although there is no elevator, the clerk super nice helped us to send it to the room ～ 2. When checking in, you will choose dinner and breakfast time. According to the time, you can arrange the hot spring ♨️ time reasonably! 3. Dinner is relatively simple, you can choose your favorite from the package provided; breakfast is also quite satisfactory. Compared with the hot spring hotel of 2000 per person per night, the overall price is full, and the door is an oversized family, we also like convenience store food! 4. We chose the hot spring after dinner ♨️ You can take it if you have not been taken away in the hot spring key box at the front desk. It is limited to one hour (but we will not be able to do it in 20 minutes, hahahahaha). Change to a bathrobe and go to ♨️, the three of us make a soup, the space is completely OK. There are even two soups indoor and outdoor ～ 5. In the surprise link, my friend saw the favorite Gundam in the store, and he couldn't move his footsteps for a long time. After being seen by the beautiful and kind clerk sister, she asked her to choose the favorite as a gift to take away 🥹. I was so touched. (Reminds me of watching bags in the window of Dubai counter, the news of bags being sent by local tyrants...) All in all, I have soaked a few Japanese soups, but the previous ones are relatively high-end and expensive. I will not have psychological deviations for this house at all, and I am even very warm. I would like to call it the king of cost-effectiveness. ～ is the level I am willing to go again! 👍

I also really liked the hot springs ♨️. Both the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast had a wide variety of dishes and were delicious! On New Year's Day, they even served zenzai and kinako mochi. After checking out, we got a free ticket to the nearby bathhouse (Agannasse), where we enjoyed the open-air bath and rock sauna until after 3pm. I went with my daughter, and she also said it was a nice change of pace and she really enjoyed it. 😊

A beautiful and cozy Ryokan located in a quiet town. It was the new year when I booked a stay with them but I was still able to find stores that are open for dinner. Staffs were able to speak a little English, sufficient enough for standing and communication. They made effort to remember every guests who have checked in and you can only make reservations for their private bath onsen upon check in. Breakfast was sumptuous and needed to be booked as well. If you have more time, I would recommend to book and recharge for two or more nights instead. Will definitely visit again.

The hotel room is spacious and looks towards Mount Aso. The large bathing hot spring is very large, very comfortable, and the hot spring water temperature is very good. Shower and toiletries are very complete. Available in stores.

This time to Aso Volcano decided to stay in a more traditional Japanese hotel, of course, can not communicate in English, but can more experience local life is genuinely great, the hot spring is very good

Breakfast and dinner are both provided by the hotel. Dinner is served in a separate room, and breakfast is served in another public room. There is a unique menu for dinner, with staff introducing each dish. There happened to be a few people who knew Chinese when I checked in. The staff introduced it, the dishes were rich, and I was very satisfied. When you have a meal, the staff will go into the room and lay out tatami mattresses. There are no private hot spring baths, there are open-air public baths. There are only two independent indoor hot spring baths for the use of the entire hotel. There are two keys during the period. After the guests return the keys, they can then take them out and use the independent private baths. Fengli, unfortunately there is no reservation service, so I don’t know when other guests will return their keys. 

There are many public and private bath to choose from in this ryokan. Plus you can get the kurokawa onsen pass (tegata) which gives you access to 3 external onsens in the town (most ryokans in town are participating) within one year of purchase of the tegata. We didn’t book dinner at the hotel, and used the diner time to try Nonohana お宿 野の花 and Ryokan Konoyu 黒川温泉 旅館 こうの湯, then next morning before breakfast I went to most of the onsens in the hotel, then after breakfast we checked out and tried Miyama Sanso 山みず木別邸 深山山荘, all four places (including this hotel) have amazing onsens and views. We drove so it was easier for us to try onsens far from the hotel, but driving in town wasn’t the easiest given narrow roads. The parking lot is a few minutes walk from the hotel, we kept the key with us for easy move around.

The hotel is located at the centre of 黑川溫泉區, which is quite rural so highly recommended to go by car. The service is excellent! The staff helped us to park the car and take the luggages up the stairs to our Japanese style family room. We have ordered full board package and both meals are gorgeous. There are many onsens in the hotel which are non-reserved and private, allowing family to enjoy onsen together. One drawback is that there are many stairs so elderly might have to take it into consideration.

This hotel is a standard Japanese inn. The whole room is about 100 square meters, with a bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom and private soup room. According to the administrator, the room can accommodate up to five people. The kitchen can cook by yourself. There are microwave ovens, induction cookers, coffee machines, pots and pans. The bus arrives, and it is only 90 meters away from Menglongdan. You can go in and contact the waiter. There will be a van to take you to Menglongdan Huabo. The distance between the two sides is very close. There are cars to take you to dinner time and bathing in the evening. Breakfast and dinner are kaiseki cuisine, with many varieties, which is worth experiencing. I wrote so much mainly because I asked Ctrip before. The so-called AI knows nothing about anything. A wonderful Ryokan. There is an onsen for your feet in the yard. Inside there is an onsen with an opening window for a sense of freshness from the street. We lived in a Japanese-style room with futons. The toilet is in the room, and the shower is shared. Also, upon check-in they give you a ticket to the neighboring hotel Yukio no Hibiki Yusai with a very good onsen with two pools, one inside, the second outside almost above the river. Very cozy in the evening to sit and warm up.

Ryokan Yumotoso is in a perfect location in the quaint town of Kurokawa. There are about 12 rooms only, hence its quite a quiet and small establishment. Service staff are all great, and the room view is fantastic looking over the beautiful river. The open onsen also overlooks nature, and private onsens are rustic. As per Ryokans, breakfasts and dinners are included, and so far, we have never been disappointed with food in Ryokans, including Yumotoso. Do note that parking lots are limited, and the lane leading to Yumotoso is rather narrow. Would recommend Yumotoso for its great location, fantastic room view and rustic environment.

The location is very good, it is very convenient to go to Aso Volcano in the morning! There are plenty of parking spaces, which is very good for self-driving tours. The rooms are relatively Japanese-style and old, but clean! The room is very spacious and there is also a hot spring to soak in! There are both outdoor and indoor facilities, so it’s very suitable to reserve time to soak in the hot springs.

The hotel is right by the river, with two buildings connected. Generally, the baths for men and women are separated, and there are also family baths, but it seems to be on the men's side. The room is very large, with 2 bedrooms, 1 bedroom has two beds, we can also connect to the yard on the first floor, 1 bedroom is used for tea, and if there are more people, you can add a bed in this room. The bed is 1.2 meters and very comfortable. There are a series of products for washing face, skin care and bathing, which are very useful and complete. The breakfast and dinner are rich and delicious. There are also Chinese and English waiters. But cash is used for checkout

For some reason, the information about this hotel is so limited on Ctrip. If you want to choose a room with indoor and outdoor private hot springs, this is a great choice. The location is not in the town center, but it takes more than ten minutes to walk. There is a car to take you there, and the service is very good. Most rooms in the town center are small in size, and they are not likely to have private hot springs or courtyards. The rooms here are all large. We stayed in a double-story room. The first floor has two private hot springs inside and outside, which are very elegant. There is also a massage chair and a bathroom. The second floor is a tatami bedroom, including a reception area and a small bathroom. The area is very large and the price-performance ratio is good. There is also a large room on the first floor with a private hot spring, which should be a more comfortable choice for living. I want to complain to Ctrip about the food. I have replied in the final confirmation email of the reservation that I do not eat horse, beef and mutton, but I found that I did not receive any information from Ctrip when I arrived at the store. I could only temporarily change to tofu and duck meat, which affected the experience. It rained heavily on the day of check-out. The staff did not hold an umbrella themselves but carried our luggage and held an umbrella for us in the heavy rain. This professional attitude deserves praise. The photos cannot capture the beautiful atmosphere. I hope more people will experience taking beautiful photos.

We are a couple from Australia and I only speak a little Japanese. This was a truly AMAZING experience! The staff were so kind and friendly, giving us assistance was no issue for them. The location is stunning, the private onsen was glorious and the dinners and breakfasts were bigger than we could possibly eat (and we love our food). The price point for this experience was so good - fantastic value for money. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a little adventure in the heart of countryside Japan. If you get the chance to also visit Minamiaso (they will take you there at no extra charge) for the day, grab some e-bikes and have a ride around- take in the beautiful scenery and wonderful food options.

Last week, I stayed at Kurowakaso for one night~~! First of all, I really, really recommend it👍🏻 Go there a hundred, ten thousand, and a thousand and five hundred times!! The staff are very kind, and the hot spring facilities and room condition are the best! I was able to try on traditional Japanese clothes, and the food was especially the best! The food was really good, and they gave me so much food that I almost burst😂 I was lucky that my group and I were the only ones in the family bath and large bath, so I took pictures, but the hot spring for guests only is also amazing! It was a good memory~ A lot of Korean tourists are going to Kumamoto these days, so if you're thinking about visiting a hot spring, I recommend this place👻 (By the way, there's a staff member who speaks Korean really well♡)
