Highly recommend this hostel. It was my first stay in a hostel as there was a big event happening this weekend and hotels were very pricey. Therefore I thought I would give it a try as it looked very decent from the pictures and reviews. I was correct! I stayed 3 nights. Very clean and over the top helpful and friendly staff. Especially TELMA! She was awesome! You can tell all the staff actually cared about their jobs and made it that much more inviting. Comfortable sleep and very close to everything. Even helped me with airport transfers, day tours and general knowledge of the island. Loved my stay! Sincerely, Daniel

Horrible experience!!!!!!! They record a video of the room before they stayed (even if it wasn't useful for us) because they accused us of ruining the air conditioning, because we did not do it and asked us to pay €70, because we are not the first to pay for it because there are more people to do so. reclaming the same. When we left the room the air condition was in the same conditions as when we arrived and only after we had already left, they called us because they said the air condition was broken, it was equal, and when we entered, they didn't realize anything, The lady of cleaning certainly went there to move deliberately because you already knew, there are more people complaining that they paid a conditioned one that they didn't ruin, that would probably be the same and they always charge. They are thieves, because they must have done it in advance, the workers there are very antipathic and uncomfortable, it has no means to communicate even with customers. I liked the Azors very much but the hostel really ruined, now we had to pay €70 for something we didn't ruin and it's quite frustrating. I don't recommend!!!!!!

Sometimes the staff was very kind and helpful and sometimes rigid and hard. There is no kitchen or refrigerator to accommodate customers. The bedrooms are very small and the beds are noisy. On 6 beds, both of the center have no take or light. No serviette or soap provided. Healthcare is far from the bedrooms. The toilets were running and there was always water on the floor. No air conditioning, no ventilator and the boxes are not barriered. To finish on a positive note it was clean and the architecture of this old building is beautiful.

Among the youth hostels already frequented, it is one of the best. We had a room on the 2nd for the 4 of us overlooking the swimming pool with a balcony, quiet (the rooms on the cobbled street side must indeed be noisy). Beds are so comfortable. The TV lounge is spacious with soft sofas. Men's bathrooms on the first floor, women's on the 2nd. The 2 shower cubicles have a common entrance The welcome at the reception is warm. Breakfasts are included. The rate of 25*4 or 100€ per night is adapted. Rental of towels in addition. The swimming pool is very pleasant in August. It's just a little too hot at night, even when sleeping with the window open. A fan would be welcome.

The location of the hostel in views of the Bucht of Praia da Vitória is very good. The rooms are clean and lovely furnished. The service is very friendly, but not around the hour on the ground (a telephone number is still deposited). The rooms are equipped with all necessary, but quality and cleanness in the community kitchen are only provided.
