I booked the bunker bed for one night in mixed gender dorm. The location is great. Right next to the Cameron Highland clock tower thingy. It was clean and had a dedicated fan which was really good to have. The atmosphere was amazing. Everything smelled good. There was enough luggage storage space available and a personal safe/locker as well (included in the booking). Dining area, waiting lounge, kitchen and toilets were up to the mark for me (considering it’s a budget stay). Nothing super fancy but, all I wanted was a good night sleep before next day. Hotel staff is super easy on you.
You can find food or anything easily and it’s just a short walk away.
Just two things I’d like to suggest:
1. Using toilet barefoot isn’t my thing. Having a pair of slippers would’ve been great.
2. I didn’t bring any personal towel with me cuz normally hotel provides them but they didn’t.

I was very satisfied with my stay at Tanjung Inn Cherating. The location is excellent, with plenty of cafés and shops within walking distance, and the property connects directly to the beach. The only downside is that the hotel is on higher ground, so getting to the beach means walking up and down a sandy path without proper stairs. Service was generally good, and I found WhatsApp to be the fastest way to reach staff — when I reported a plumbing issue, it was fixed immediately after I texted. Amenities are thoughtful, like the mosquito repellent provided in the room, though the water dispenser was broken and housekeeping doesn’t clean daily or replenish water unless requested. Despite these small inconveniences, the atmosphere is peaceful, the surroundings are charming, and it feels like a great place to slow down and enjoy Cherating. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would happily return.

Guest UserHonest review: I think this place is worth the money if you aren't so spoilt for hotel stays or resorts where you pay the money for the experience of the stay. Instead here you pay for the stay and to sleep; that's it. There's everything you need for you to get by to stay for the night/s you stay.
I stayed for one day here and only came back to the hotel at night and slept. Some guests complained the bed is overall a little thin as well as the pillow but I didn't notice any issues with this and was able to sleep well snd feel refreshed in the morning. The toilet and shower facilities are good although you need to bring your own toiletries. Overall would definitely book this place and come back to cameron highlands again!

Guest UserThe soundproofing is quite poor, and noise from outside can be easily heard, which made it difficult to sleep.
The bathroom door also felt somewhat lacking in privacy and security, as silhouettes can be seen through it.
The listing stated that air conditioning was provided, but in reality there was none. Instead, there was only a small fan beside the bed. The fan speed could not be adjusted, it could only oscillate up and down, and the cable tended to come loose and required readjustment.
Showering was a little uncomfortable because the floor drain was located directly beneath the showerhead.
There was also an unpleasant odor in the room. The host may wish to consider providing an air freshener to improve the overall experience

Hamidah HanipiahThe front desk is located right in the middle of the building. Parking is available on both the right and left sides. When we arrived, we parked on the left side, went upstairs, and found the front desk easily. Check-in took less than 5 minutes. Our room was in the right wing, and it wasn't a far walk at all. When we went out later, we switched to the right-side parking, which made things even more convenient. The room was incredibly spacious, clean, and comfortable. The fridge worked perfectly, which was great because we drink a lot of cold water. There's even a sofa in front of the TV and a dining table. I felt like I could just live there!

The rooms are clean and comfortable, the environment is quiet, and while the facilities are basic, they're complete – perfect for backpackers, couples, and budget travelers. The staff are friendly, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. Overall, it was a good stay with great value for money, making it a worthwhile option when visiting Cameron Highlands.
