Mad Monkey Vang Vieng has a fun and social atmosphere, and the staff are generally friendly and energetic. It’s a great place if you’re looking to meet new people and enjoy the party vibe.
However, some areas could use improvement. The rooms and facilities can feel a bit worn, and cleanliness is inconsistent at times. Depending on when you stay, noise levels can be quite high especially from other visitors, even late at night, something to keep in mind if you’re hoping for rest.
Overall, it’s a lively hostel with a strong social scene, but not the best choice if comfort and quiet are your main priorities.
Great and helpful staff service. Free breakfast is a bonus. The only letdown us the wifi, which at times drop connections. But i give it full marks for having clean shared toilets, with hot-cold showers, and available (so what aged) scooters for rent at competitive prices...

I booked a one person private room and very pleased with the bed. The shower on the other had is very bad. Toilet is right next to the shower and if you want to sit on the toilet you need to adjust yourself so you can fit. It’s a a small corner. There were also some ants in the room.

A great hostel for backpackers. The facilities are old and basic, but worth the price. There's a beautiful swimming pool. Free breakfast is served poolside in the morning, along with free self-service tea bags and coffee. The location is excellent, right in the middle of town. Eating and shopping are very convenient. There's an abandoned runway next door. There's a Mixue Ice Cream shop right outside. Mostly foreigners; didn't see any Chinese. Backpackers' Home, Santana—actually, they're all the same place. Several locations are marked on the map. I don't know why they have so many names. You have to take off your shoes before entering. It's relatively quiet for sleeping. My roommates are all quite quiet.

Excellent location- few steps to 7-11, mini mart and ATM; plenty of cafes and local food shops along the same street, 5 min to night market.
Great breakfast- 5 types of fruits and decent portions of eggs breakfast to choose from. Coffee, tea, juice available during breakfast time.
Reception- helpful, English speaking staffs
Cleanliness- considered very good, washroom and shower room are clean and not wet.
Vibe- mostly teenagers to westerners aged 20’s, who seem get along and enjoy spending time at lobby area during evening till late
Downsides
1)AC off from 10am to 6pm; renovation of swimming pool started from 8am and it’s hard to chill or relax at lobby area during my 2 days stay.
2)Sleep- my room is the nearest to lobby area, the guests were loud talking, laughing the whole night till 2am + on my first night( I couldn’t fall asleep at all) the 2nd night karaoke and music bombarded from 9pm to 11pm, thereafter guests continued talking and laughing loud till late.
Perhaps earplugs and eye mask could help with coping the downsides, given the overall consideration, it’s not bad for a quick night stay.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to spend a day here in Vang Vieng. While looking at the mountains spread out like a folding screen, eating and drinking a cup of coffee with a free breakfast, you'll feel like you've entered another world for a moment. The price seems to be very cheap. If I go back to Vang Vieng, I'll come here again.^^;;

I might stay in this hostel again because of the delicious breakfast 👍👍👍. The 3rd floor of the hostel is mostly backpackers. If you are alone, you can quickly find tourists from various countries who are traveling alone in the room. They are all very friendly and you can travel together. Turn right and there are restaurants on both sides of the road, including Chinese, Laotian, Korean, and bars. Go straight for about 300 meters and you will reach the night market, where you can buy some local specialty items. It is very convenient.

Ppepper008Location a bit far up. Anyhow vang vang is small. Is walkable. Room is ok. U. Can view hotair ballon at the pool. Air cond is shut off during mid day. Cleanliness ok. Hot shower is great.
GGuest UserThe view is beautiful, the food is delicious, the coffee is good, and the service is great. There are a few bugs, but it's a hotel in nature, so you have to accept that.
