The best ski in and ski out and Onsen hotel in Japan so far!
We loved the hotel so much in Oct 2025 so we rebooked and came again from Dec 20-24, 2025.
1. Very convenient for ski experience. Ski in and ski out. Ski rental and ski coach school are just besides hotel. Good experience for rentals and coaches hiring.
2. Breakfast and dinner buffets are great and so yummy! The food does change every night to give you diversified variation to choose from. Very delicate food preparations by great chefs so don’t worry you will never get bored.
3. Onsen is also great great great! Great view and women and men get alternate the hot spring pool everyday.
4. First floor relaxing area is great great! You have self service bar of juice / soda / coffee and popsicles.
5. The hotel staffs are so nice and make you feel at home. Motoyo-San is extremely friendly and her English is so fluent!!! We were very lucky to have her help out during our stay.
6. 3rd floor is newly renovated so pls try this beautiful room next time!
Highly recommend!!!! Great for family and couple trips!
How do I describe this hotel? In one word: amazing. It was my first time experiencing a mixed-gender bath from over a century ago. I was truly impressed! The elderly gentlemen were just casually strolling around without a care in the world. Families, you absolutely must try the mixed-gender outdoor hot spring bath. It's located in the old wing of the hotel, a bit of a walk from the new wing, but once you're in the hotel, just grab a map and you'll find it. You can also take the opportunity to peek into the rooms and dining hall of this century-old ryokan. As for the room, it goes without saying that upon entering, you're greeted with a flood of green, which was quite a pleasant surprise. The only minor point is that the Hozawa River was a bit murky. I drove upstream along the river, and soon lost cell service, so it is quite remote, but definitely worth a visit. The two meals were decent, nothing spectacular but perfectly acceptable.
Very good feeling, as soon as you arrive at the hotel, there is a friendly staff reception, help to help with luggage, the check-in process has a detailed explanation of the service staff, smiles, kind and cute, and at the same time explain the hotel facilities and the layout of the room. Space, we are here during the period, Had a wonderful dinner (kaiseki cuisine) and a hearty breakfast, everything was very good, I hope to stay next time.
I had visited Momijikan on a day trip to the onsen before and loved it. This time, my boyfriend and I booked a great value room (randomly assigned) and were given a tatami room.
We got up early to see the sunrise over the snow-covered ground – the view was beautiful.
We asked the front desk to book a shuttle bus for the next day the night before, so we could go directly to JR Hanamaki Station after check-out – very convenient.
The breakfast selection was extensive and delicious – I highly recommend choosing a hotel with breakfast included when booking!
The hotel staff are very warm, polite and attentive. Very satisfied! The room I booked includes a semi-open-air bath, which is a great environment. The room was also cleaned very well. Breakfast and dinner were also very rich and delicious. Highly recommended!!!!
Stayed there for 9 days.
Location in the middle of the mountain
Ten minutes drive from Xiayou Plateau Ski Resort
The environment is very comfortable
The meal with the room is not bad, but it is a bit tired to eat every day.
Going out to eat, you need to inform the front desk that you are not dining at the hotel.
But it makes people feel a little confused if they don't refund the cost of not eating.
Everything else is fine.
The hot spring pool is very diverse
It is most suitable to soak in open-air hot springs when it is snowing
Superb onsen hotel. We took sea view and it was superb with a small balcony. Room are very confortable and big. Onsen was excellent with an outside bath looking at the bay.
We had dinner also and it was 5 star.
Staff were super helpful (front desk, restaurant etc)
Great little Inn, lots of charm. Think of it as a 5 star B&B.

LLanie KirklandA group of four of us booked a cabin on a whim, and I’m so happy we did!! We did a two-day ski trip to Geto Kogen, and I cannot stress enough how convenient these cabins were to the resort itself. We stayed overnight in between two days at the resort. The drive up to the resort was less than 20 minutes. The cabin itself was super cozy, so comfortable, had great amenities for the short time we were there, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Everything was very clean, the heater was already on when we arrived, which was a very thoughtful touch, and we were able to hang all our snow gear to dry thanks to the copious amounts of hangars available. We felt it was a crazy good deal based on the price, location, and availability to book it just a few days in advance. We will definitely be back in the summer to use the grill and go golfing at the country club!
GGuest UserThis time I booked Arts Color, but I actually stayed in the owner’s other main building with a restaurant, Life is Beautiful (should be called Beautiful Life~). The B&B is about 10-15 minutes’ walk from Appi Ski Resort and Shirakaba Hot Spring. It’s not too far away. Dinner at the key B&B looks simple, but it’s super delicious. It’s at the level of a French restaurant. There’s free pick-up and pick-up at 8-9 am & 16-17 pm (Appi Station or Appi Ski Resort), and there’s a Japanese-style hot spring bath at B1. , just like the size of a personal hot spring in Yangmingshan, but it is really relaxing to take a dip after skiing. There is also a beautiful and atmospheric APPI House bakery and cafe opposite the B&B, and there is a ROCKY BBQ restaurant next door, in this countryside At night, there are already a lot of such shops, because there is really no nightlife here at night. You can consider going to Baihua Hot Spring for a bath (open until 23:00). This is a solo trip, and the cost for one hotel and two meals is NT2100/ God, I think it’s a great value and worth recommending. I hope I can visit again soon.
Watching the sunrise from the open-air bath with a view of the snow made this a truly unforgettable stay. Dinner was a wild vegetable buffet. Everything had a gentle, comforting taste that was so good for the body. We stayed right at the end of the season, and the road was closed due to snow, but they kindly provided transportation, which was a great help. I imagine running an inn deep in the mountains must be very difficult. The hot springs were truly wonderful! I would love to visit again during a time without snow!
MMrs_KlisThe proprietress is super nice and loves life. Although the English is average, she did her best to help us and took us to the supermarket to buy things and sent us to the train station to clean up the hotel. My mother can't speak a word of Japanese but she became friends when we left. Not willing yet
GGuest UserIt's a bit far from the station, so it's difficult to get there without a car, but the hot springs are very nice. The breakfast included furikake, which made the rice go down really well.
