Ancient City of Kashgar
1. Location: In the west of the ancient city, very close to a gate of the ancient city. Then go out of this gate, cross the road, and walk a short distance to the right to reach Nuolan Hotel, a relatively good local restaurant with many locals. The hotel is decorated very distinctively and the service attitude is good. I ate roasted pigeon, lamb skewers, pepper chicken, strawberry milkshake, etc. I think the taste is quite good 😄. There is also an ancient city performance downstairs at 7 o'clock in the evening. 2. Room: The room is very clean, the bedding is comfortable, and I like the layout very much. The bed is against the window. When you open the window, you can see the ancient city street. The sun shines in and it is very warm. 3. The boss: very enthusiastic, and also invited us to eat the dates grown by ourselves, which are very delicious. There are also two cute cats. Our girl likes this homestay very much 😄, and is vying to write a review. Kashgar is a place worth visiting again. Next time, I will choose Qingfeng Yage

Ancient City of Kashgar
This hotel is not perfect but overall I had an amazing stay. First, the woman on reception is very friendly and helpful. She let me check in early as I arrived from Urumqi at 8am. Thanks to her I was able to get a good sleep before I started exploring the old town. She even gave me yogurt and granola so I wouldn't have an empty stomach. Despite the language barrier, she was patient with me and was always willing to help. The location could not get any better. It's inside the ancient town so you can easily walk to shops, restaurants and cafes. Cars are not allowed in the ancient city but that wasn't a problem -the hotel is roughly a 5 minute walk from one of the entrances to the old town so it's very convenient to walk there to take a taxi, find a bus stop etc. The decor of the entire hotel is beautiful and fits in very well with the asthetic of the old town. I just wish the communal areas on the roof top was better maintained. It is starting to look a bit shabby. Overall I was happy with my room but there are some things I wasn't pleased about. First, apart from the tables on both sides of the bed, the other cabinets in the room were for show -they don't actually open, meaning there is very little storage space. Also, I like having a window I'm my room so I can feel less claustrophobic. I paid extra for a courtyard view. That's because I wanted to see the courtyard. However, I opened the curtain, and I found out that the windows are opaque. I opened the windows as far as I could without banging the TV, and there's a barrier over the windows. I understand they have these measures for privacy but in my opinions, curtains are enough. That definitely dampened my experience. Lastly, the walls are extremely thin, meaning almost every night I was woken up by other people making noise in the courtyard. Overall I am happy with my experience and I would book here again next time I visit Kashgar, but I would book a room with a city view instead for the reasons mentioned above.

This is definitely the best hotel I have stayed in during this trip to southern Xinjiang! No one else! It is better than most five-star hotels! Environment: The scenery is very good, facing the snow-capped mountains, and the sun shines on the golden mountain every day. In front of us is Toglenxia Village, the best village to experience humanities and nature Service: The boss and staff are very enthusiastic. They will take us on a tour when we check in and tell us how to use the room facilities. At night, the car got stuck in the wetland and couldn't get out. The hotel staff was so busy that they were exhausted, but they kept helping us find a way. They helped for five or six hours until the car was out. Thank you so much. I didn't sleep all night because of this. 🫨 Facilities: The room is very spacious and tidy! ! ! ! Although it is a newly opened hotel, there is no taste of decoration at all. The bedding is also very good, the mattress is very comfortable, and even the toiletries are Hermes! It is completely comparable to the five-star hotels outside! ! The room faces the snow-capped mountains and the Jincaotan Wetland, and the scenery is amazing! And the food is also very delicious😋

The best youth hostel in Kashgar! Benguoguo certified! The bedding is good, there are curtains and private space, the bathroom equipment is also good, rolls are prepared for you, and there are baskets for dirty clothes ~ unlike some hostels where there is no place to put the shower gel, they give it to you Shower gel and hair dryer are prepared~ The boss is also incredibly nice, and the kitchen can be used. I really want to eat vegetables🥬, you know? Hahaha, a group of people are having so much fun eating green vegetables~ The boss even occasionally makes mutton hot pot to entertain everyone~

The facilities are complete and clean. The most important thing is that the boss is very nice and the service is considerate, just like family. Free pick-up and drop-off to the scenic spot, thank you very much 😊, the second floor of the homestay can also be used for cooling off, overlooking the alpine meadows, the geographical location is excellent. I will definitely come again next time or recommend it to relatives and friends.
Bafeng Retreat

Easily one of the top two or three guesthouse experiences I’ve had traveling China over the past decade. While it’s certainly on the higher end of the price spectrum, you definitely get what you pay for and more. The level of detail is immaculate: given how hot and dry Turpan is, they give you as much bottled water you need & leave hydrating facial masks in your room every day. Also, shoutout to the beds—one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on in China—and Japanese toilet. The facilitates and service touches are on par with the best luxury hotel brands which probably go for twice the price or more. But ultimately the people and location are what make this place special. Everyone from the owner to the cleaning staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I ran into the owner at a restaurant and he bought me dinner and introduced me to some local dishes I would have never known to order. The location is 🍇 valley. It’s a quaint little grape producing village with friendly locals and amazing fruit. All in all, Bafeng Retreat is a special place that is perfect if you’re looking for somewhere to unwind and take life slowly. Highly recommended.

The B&B is very beautiful, in a relatively remote place. You can see the river and beautiful mountains in front. The scenery is very beautiful. You can see the beautiful scenery when you open the curtains. The yard is also very comfortable. The boss and staff are very warm and friendly. However, because it is by the river, there are many mosquitoes in the room, so the boss enthusiastically bought mosquito coils for us. The recliner in the room was not easy to use. I fell down when I sat on it. Wi-Fi is also not easy to use, and basic apps such as WeChat group, **, and Taobao cannot be opened at all on the second floor. Management needs to be improved. We were only given one toothbrush and three towels for the four of us. Breakfast also starts relatively late, which is not suitable for people who need to go out early to visit attractions. In addition, the hotel does not have a washing machine, so it is inconvenient to not be able to wash clothes if you are traveling to Xinjiang for a long time. In addition, it is very inconvenient that there are no curtains in the bathroom. When taking a shower at night, you can see the shower area just by walking through the path on the back. Overall, it's a very good accommodation, recommended!
Jingyi Homestay (Kashgar Ancient City Branch)

Ancient City of Kashgar
I wanted some place inside the Old City that accepts foreigners. This one does accept foreigners, for all foreign travellers out there. The homestay I booked was closed unnoticed. I showed up at the place completely getting confused. But after some body languages later I finally found some help on the street to talk to the owner through phone. He came to pick me and took me to another homestay of his sister which is also in the Old City complex. The room was smaller than the one I booked but I agreed to stay anyway. Trip Customer Service contacted later to apologize for the inconvenience amd compensate me with Trip coins which I was fine with. The home owner (Han people) was warm and welcoming so I will leave the unlucky event off my mind. All convos between me and the owner are via translation app since no one speaks English and it is all going well. Helpful people. The first photo was the Jingyi homestay which was closed for the season. The rest of the photos were the other homestay within the Old City complex that I was taken to, not far from Jingyi.

It was my first time to visit Keketuohai. I stayed at this B&B and it was clear from the interior design that the owner was very attentive! The atmosphere created by the colorful chandeliers is very warm, and the carpets and pillows with ethnic patterns are very local. When the oversized floor-to-ceiling windows open the curtains, you can see the snow-capped peaks and pure snow scenery. It is very beautiful🥹 It's like being in a painting. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city. It is also very convenient to go to the ski resort, which is very suitable for those who want to experience skiing! The living facilities are also complete. The boss entertained us very warmly. The experience is very good and the price is high. I will choose this hotel next time I have the opportunity~
New Dap Hostel (in Grape Town)

This place has the soul of Uyghur people. The round bread you can have next to the hostel is incredibly delicious. The whole road is where the Uyghur people lives. The city center has very different vibes. We had a good time taking a tour of Turpan with the driver the hostel organized. The weather got too cold in the desert area so we could not stay longer here. I hope to come back here in my life. Just one thing, some trains coming to Turpan is very early in the morning. It would be nice if the reception could open earlier in certain days.
