I stayed for three nights. The hotel is located within the Tongtuo Muyu scenic area, which is small and not yet officially open, so there aren't many tourists, mostly local residents. The room was spacious, with the famous Chan River visible from the window. The windows were well-sealed; once closed, you couldn't hear the sound of the water. You can control the lights and curtains by voice, which is great for winter. The breakfast selection was rich, and the old lamb soup with bread (paomo) comes highly recommended (you need to go to the restaurant to eat it yourself). Both the staff and the cat were incredibly welcoming; the cat would even follow me to my room and actively ask for scratches. A small suggestion: the blue light on the smart toilet seat was a bit bright at night, and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off.

It was a really enjoyable stay: the location is very central and the subway line is only 2 mins walk away. So from the high speed line it will take you approximately 50 mins to reach the hotel. Taxi is sometimes not even fast - the price of the subway is unbeatable low compared to the taxi.
The room was very clean, quiet and ideal for a couple of days. The owner was very kind and even helped with the laundry. Wi-Fi connection was top.
Around the hotel you‘ll find loads of traditional restaurants, Cafés and supermarkets. A hidden gem, which I highly recommend.

The inn was so comfortable, we visited in Jan 2026, it was cold but we got heater and was warm. The smart controler was cool ( lights, curtains etc). The inn’s great is great as well. We were able to experience authentic ancient Chinese experience wearing hanfu and going through Shaolin temple - with nearby city, Dengfeng. We went Longmen Grottes, and beautiful buildings. The amenities were great.
The only downside could be the smelly air after air conditioner stops.

The best decision I made on my trip to Luoyang was choosing this guesthouse! The location is absolutely fantastic, just a few minutes' walk to the core area of Luoyi Ancient City. After an evening stroll, you don't have to rush back, and there are tons of authentic local eateries nearby. The guesthouse features a new Chinese-style courtyard design; as soon as you open the door, you're greeted by a small bridge over flowing water and lush greenery. In the evening, when the lanterns light up, the ambiance is incredible, and every photo you take looks like it's from a magazine.

The hotel staff is young, polite, and a bit shy. Check-in is fast, and a gift bag is provided, complete with all essentials, which is highly recommended, as it will be useful for visiting the Longmen Grottoes. Water and snacks are available in the lobby. The room was clean, and the air conditioning was adequate, though slightly chilly. There are washing machines and some fitness equipment on the basement floor. The breakfast selection isn't limited, but it's adequate, and the cafeteria staff are very polite. This is a must-stay hotel for those visiting the Longmen Grottoes, as it's only a ten-minute walk to the entrance! The hotel is also located on a pedestrian street, with plenty of restaurants and tea shops.

Finally got to visit Kaifeng! Our stay at 'Shangheyuan Folk Culture' was an absolute delight, definitely deserves a solid five-star rating!
🛏️ **Spotlessly Clean Rooms, Impeccable Details**
The moment we stepped in, we felt incredibly comfortable. The room was thoroughly cleaned, the bedding was soft and white, and the bathroom sparkled like new with no unpleasant odors. It's clear the owners put a lot of effort into hygiene, making our stay very reassuring.
🌿 **Elegant and Atmospheric Environment, Full of Ancient Charm**
The guesthouse's design beautifully blends Song Dynasty elegance with modern simplicity. Exquisite decorations and calligraphy artwork are visible everywhere, and the courtyard is serene, with a beautiful view at every turn. Sipping tea in the courtyard at night felt like traveling back to Bianjing a thousand years ago – the ambiance was simply perfect!
👏 **Exceptional Service, Felt Like Home**
From check-in to check-out, every staff member greeted us with a smile and provided warm, attentive service. The front desk attendant patiently explained touring routes and helped book tickets, always ready to assist, making us feel like part of the family.
🥣 **Amazing Breakfast! Auntie's Cooking is Superb**
I have to give a special shout-out to the breakfast! The variety was rich, and the taste was absolutely incredible! Hu La Tang, steamed soup dumplings, Dou Mo, You Tiao… all authentic Kaifeng flavors. The auntie who made breakfast was especially warm, constantly asking if we had enough and if we wanted more. Her cooking was fantastic, and her warmth started our day full of energy!
🔧 **Brand New and Complete Facilities, Comfortable Experience**
The smart appliances in the room, high-end bathroom fixtures, and the perfectly firm yet soft mattress all show the significant investment the owners made to enhance the guest experience. The Wi-Fi was fast, hot water was plentiful, and all amenities were of high quality.
In summary, this stay far exceeded our expectations! Whether it was the location, hardware facilities, or soft services, everything was impeccable. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Kaifeng – choosing here is definitely the way to go!

This hidden gem of a hotel was truly a pleasant surprise! The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and patient in resolving any issues. The courtyard is spotless and well-maintained, a perfect size that's just lovely to look at. My room was immaculately clean, came with complimentary snacks, and had a great wet/dry separation in the bathroom. I especially loved the lighted mirror at the sink – perfect for makeup, and it made for great photos! All the essential switches were voice-controlled. The blinds, while recessed and offering privacy, weren't completely blackout, as you can see in the pictures below. But overall, it was an absolutely fantastic stay, even exceeding my expectations. The minor drawbacks are easily overshadowed by its many positives. Just a heads-up for a truly objective review: when I checked out, the front desk even gifted me a box of flower cakes – a local specialty! If you stay multiple nights, make sure to eat the complimentary snacks they provide daily; there's a delicious surprise waiting for you! I highly, highly recommend this place; you can't go wrong booking it!

It's located about 1km away from the ancient town, still walkable but if you're feeling lazy, just grab a bike at the junction will do. Perhaps the only downside is that it's located inside a rather dark alley, especially when the night falls. Also, there's no lift in the building but the owner will help to carry if you have big luggage.

I stayed in a guesthouse I absolutely loved.
Location: It's a 5-minute walk from attractions (Luoyi Old Town) and the subway station. Plus, there are supermarkets, pharmacies, and restaurants all around, and the host provides a detailed introduction upon check-in.
Room facilities: The room is spacious enough, and the facilities are well-maintained. Disposable items (bath towels, face towels) are plentiful and of good quality. The air conditioning kept the room very warm in this weather.
Cleanliness: Super clean, even better than some more expensive hotels.
Service: They go above and beyond to meet your needs, big or small, and answer all your questions. They even gave us a fridge magnet as a parting gift.
In summary, this guesthouse has excellent facilities, and the hosts (a brother and sister) are incredibly kind and 'professional' in every sense of the word. I'll definitely recommend it to friends visiting Luoyang in the future.
May the scenery of Luoyang bring renewed joy next spring.

Very Good
GGuest UserFive of us came to Luoyang to play. We happened to see that this room type could accommodate 5 people and the location was quite suitable, so we decided on it.
The room matches the picture, I'm quite satisfied with it. There are two large beds, one can sleep 3 people, and the other can sleep 2 people without being crowded.
The room is quite large and the environment is very clean. I am very satisfied with my stay.
Because it is this room type, it is not in the location located. It is best to contact us in advance to confirm where the location is.
There are a lot of places to eat nearby. There are hot pots and so on in Baolong Plaza. There are also many restaurants on the streets nearby.
I forgot to take pictures of B&Bs, take a look at Luoyang

GGuest UserI have returned to Guangdong to work, but I still think of Luoyang, the people and the scenery there. With the annual pass for the Greater Bay Area, I can visit many scenic spots and the cost is not high. It is a very prosperous city.
To be honest, the boss was very welcoming. He helped us carry our luggage and gave us cherries to eat. The room was small but well-equipped. The location was good... You can walk to several nearby attractions. The bed was really comfortable. I slept until dawn and didn't want to get up.
The lady boss was also very enthusiastic in posting a food guide, but unfortunately, I didn’t have time to taste many of the food at the special forces tour.

GGuest UserThe guesthouse is nestled in the old town. Taxis typically drop you off at the main road, requiring a short walk of a few minutes to reach the entrance, as the narrow streets can be challenging for cars. On the upside, it's incredibly close to Yingtian Gate, and you can conveniently park electric scooters right outside! One thing to note is that there's a primary school nearby, so you'll hear morning exercise music around 8 AM. The soundproofing isn't the best, but the numerous benefits easily make up for it – I could certainly overlook this.
Cleanliness was excellent. Just let the owner know if you need any tidying up; they were incredibly attentive, restocking disposable slippers, toothbrushes, tissues, and even facial tissues every time we returned. Such a thoughtful touch!
For service, I booked after the Dragon Boat Festival, and seeing I was staying for an extended period, the owner generously upgraded my room type for free, saying a bigger room would be more comfortable – a truly wonderful gesture! There were also four kinds of complimentary snacks on the table. The guesthouse even offers Hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) styling and makeup services with a discount for guests, which is a great opportunity if you've ever wanted to try it.
VVelin PohHomestay owner 小杨 is a very nice and friendly handsome young man. He was very helpful to offer advice on where to visit, the eating places and how to get around. He even helped us to purchase online our entrance tickets to 白马寺 first when we had problem to access the local official website. Thanks again 👍🏼🙏🏼
Being a local homestay, the cleanliness part can be improved further as our room floor was dusty at the corners and also with footprints upon check in. However, 保洁阿姨 (housekeeping aunt) managed to mop our floor the next day after we feedback to owner and no more issue after that. I wld also suggest that the room corners, tabletops and bed head be checked to maintain dust/hair free We stayed 5 days 4 nights at this place.
Room had a lovely view of 丽景门 which we felt as if we had travelled back in time. Not as noisy as what we had expected prior to our stay from the reviews left by other guests.
Overall, we enjoyed the stay with the warm hospitality from the host and the housekeeping aunt. Aunt was very nice with us and reminded us daily to stay and wear warm enough clothing as the temperature turned cold halfway during our stay in Luoyang. Thanks and we would recommend this place! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
JJosh_mnWe had a great experience staying in the room type with two large beds and one bunker bed. We booked this room kinda expecting the bunker bed to excite our 4 and 7 yo and it definitely proved so. Room is clean, AC is great. The breakfast (made free with a trip.com promotion) is quite a treat. Even some might prefer hot coffee but honestly I cannot complain much with the offer of a hard boiled egg, two potstickers, one pcs of corn, millet congee, etc. The staffs are all responsive and ready to help with request like additional towels/bottled water/breakfast food. The owners had a friendly puppy called “fanfan”on site too. At the end of our trip one of the co-owners used his motorcycles to carry a heavy suitcase to the place we booked our taxi and as we can see they ride people to metro station as well. The location is just a short (maybe 100m) walk from the South Gate of Luoyi Ancient City. We took a night walking into Luoyi Ancient City from the north gate after eating dinner in one of the busiest places known for its street food and getting out of South Gate knowing the hotel is just minutes away. Would definitely recommend this one to others who want to stay near Luoyi Ancient City area.
KKaiputengyangIn fact, quite by chance, I arrived at this very mountain-like B&B. The boss has the style of a hermit. Although he doesn't talk much, he is very sincere. Objectively speaking, the details of the room are very good, and the linens are all hotel-level. Although there was a slight problem with bath water, it was quickly resolved.
It's very quiet here, except for the sound of wind and cicadas, there are only the sounds of kittens and dogs. There is a path leading into the mountain at the back. The lack of water during the dry season is probably the only regret. This place is connected to standard provincial highways and standardized roads. At the end of the road is the parking lot of the B&B. When you reach his house, your mobile phone will lose signal. Just connect to the boss's wifi as soon as possible. It is less than a 25-minute drive from Shaolin Temple, Zen Shaolin and other famous attractions. Even if you dine late in the city, you can get back here in no time. The road passing by Tangyao Village is quite bumpy for a while, and the traffic problem should not delay it for too long. The direct route to here is actually in the mountain nest. It is quite pleasant to live quietly for a few days and enjoy the tranquility between heaven and earth. The parent-child room for a family of four is quite satisfactory, but next time, I want to experience the private courtyard. I look forward to having a tea party with the boss next time. Love in early autumn, peace!
Tips: The last two are recommended by the boss, the Chu Zu'an Main Hall, and the Yongtai Zen Temple near the B&B. As a lover of ancient architecture, it is a worthwhile trip to appreciate the ancients while raising children. 🤣
GGuest UserThe room and the facilities were as advertised. I could book the taxi pickup they offer for 2-night reservations. Even with English I could text and book the taxi ride the day before arrival (SMS & WeChat). Also offered free snacks in the room. Also they helped me in identifying places to visit as Laojun mountain is closed for foreigners (I did not know before arriving). Longmen Grottoes is very close, you can walk there! Also there are busses connecting well with the Longmen city. The lady at the reception was helpful answering all my questions via WeChat as it translated the messages automatically.

GGuest UserWhat a hidden gem of a B&B! I was so pleasantly surprised! The location is superb, the air is fresh, and the room has an expansive view. I could lie in bed and enjoy the mountain scenery, and I even had the good fortune to catch a drone show – so happy! It was clean, the service was warm and welcoming, and the value for money is outstanding. I'll definitely be back if I get the chance!
