MMichael & Nici Exploring China and Beyond2025.01.28
Well, it was adequate, the location is convenient to some extend.
Unfortunately, the facilities are aged, and there are some things that ”time”, simply erased, splendor, elegance, and stylish, perhaps fifteen to twenty years ago.
However, this is 2025, and the competition is fierce, at the risk of exaggerating, I simply can not believe that this hotel is worth the price.
The cost to value ratio, is simply not acceptable.
I'm sure that this was the ”place to be”, many years ago, but unfortunately, it's not the case now.
Perhaps, if the facilities could be renovated, it could return to it's initial state, whitout, it's simply just way past it's sellby date.
On a more positive note, the service receiving from all the staff, was excellent, and on standard.
Breakfast, was on international standard, and excellent, to say the least.
And as mentioned, the location is prime, and the complementary shuttle, is an excellent ”value added” service.
This hotel, remains a landmark in S.A. it's my sincere hope, that they would renovate the facilities and conduct routine maintenance.
Pleasantly surprised. Very convenient for a next day flight, and a good restaurant and buffet. I saw comments about not having water in the rooms, but there were water stations everywhere, so just a smart way to minimize waste (or costs, duh). It was well signposted all the way from the arrivals hall, and you don’t need to leave the airport at all.
It's a very fancy hotel. The staff are super friendly and helpful. It's super clean. The room is spacious and has an air-conditioner. It's got food and drink available even late in the night via room service.
This hotel was an excellent choice, free shuttle service was very convenient. The hotel design is very cool and the staff was also very very nice. The water pressure for the bathroom was very weak but it got the job done.
Morning I made bookings ad they where all cancellations we had to re book again firstly I
Mixed up dates ad had to cancel so i cancelled ad apologies made ad i rebooked bt all got canceled ad till now I hv bn refunded only one booking the hotel refused to help so we had to rebook ad pay as it was midnight
I recently stayed for a couple of nights, and overall, it was an average experience. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff was friendly, which I appreciated. However, the room itself could have been a bit more updated. While it was clean, the furnishings seemed a little worn, and the bathroom, although functional, had some minor issues like a leaky faucet.
The bed was comfortable enough, but I did find it a bit harder than I prefer. The hotel amenities were standard—there was a gym and a small pool, though I didn't have time to use either. The Wi-Fi worked fine, and I didn't encounter any issues with the air conditioning or heating during my stay.
One thing that stood out was the location. It was pretty convenient for my needs, close to a few restaurants and shops, though not overly special. I was hoping for a bit more from the hotel's restaurant, as the menu was somewhat limited and the food was just okay.
In short, it wasn’t a bad stay, but it didn’t blow me away either. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep without expecting anything extraordinary, this hotel will do the job.
We stayed for a week. It was a decent stay. It’s apartment style you can cook your own meals in your room and also there’s a restaurant you can eat and chill at
I enjoyed the whole experience, the hotel is located in a quiet and safe area so i felt safe the whole time. loved the facilities as for the food was always eating out at nearby restaurants. I will definitely visit again because I enjoyed and had a wonderful time at the hotel.
For the price of the hotel, we cannot demand too much.
It's a good balance for price/value ratio.
We had some problems at check in, but the duty manager solved the issue in a very good and patient manner.
Thank you.

GGuest UserFriends booked five rooms together, but one trash can was not emptied. The exterior windows of the two stores were being repaired from 2 to 5 p.m., and workers kept kicking and kicking the windows, making clinking sounds. I complained to the front desk manager, but there was no formal reply. In fact, repairs to individual rooms can be completely avoided. After traveling continuously for several days, it is impossible to take a high-quality nap.

GGuest UserEverything was Good. Pick up from the airport in a free shuttle every 30 minutes. Very helpful and friendly staff. Room small but neat, Good for just 1 night. For longer I would have choosen a larger room with a fridge. Nice facilities on the premises for eating out and shopping. Interesting exhibition on the history of democracy in SA.
CCarter07Located along Katherine St, really beautiful with delicious breakfast and dinner. The rooms are exceptionally clean, although a little bit small( we had so many bags). Mimi from the reception was really helpful and kind. Her services was top notch. Would definitely recommend this
LLisinkaMy experience wasn’t the best.
First, I’ve booked a queen size room. I checked in I went to the room and someone else was staying in that exact same room I got a new card for a new room that key card didn’t work. I went back to reception they said there’s a problem and maintenance is trying to fix it. They said there’s no rooms available. I can only get twin beds so I told him I paid for a queen size room. They need to make a plan.. eventually after while they came back to me gave me a room card went to the room and they literally just pushed the two beds together took out bedside table and we had to sleep like that. there was no kettle to make coffee and the room was smelly.

GGuest UserIt's giving more 3 than 4 stars? Customer service poor.
Holiday Inn was full so this was a close alternative.
Had amenities but their outlets were in the kitchen far from the bed? Not very business traveller or relaxing traveller friendly.
I booked a queen studio which had a kitchenette which was great for warming food etc. Decor a bit tired so could do with some love. But apart from a very dirty bottle left on the balcony it was clean.
Location is excellent for Rosebank Mall even if you have to play chicken to cross the road 😆
Customer service was severely lacking. I thought Radisson Red staff were slow but at least they were always there. You can't call frontdesk . It's all QR codes and WhatsApp. Late check out would be the cost of another night R1980. Staff had a, I dunno attitude and werent very helpful. 1 security guard and 1 young lady in the lounge are the only exceptions. Outlets in the lounge and office were local only and I had to really ask to get where I could buy adapters / converters.
Next time I'll go elsewhere. They're not customer focused enough for me.
DDeborah-AnneI have stayed at the Quatermain before, and I am happy to say that the whole experience was once again just lovely! I had arrived VERY early on my check-in day and the staff made sure that I had a room well before the scheduled check-in time AND they upgraded me too!
The staff at the hotel are friendly, helpful and all round just a delight!! Even with the ongoing challenges that loadshedding (scheduled power outtages) brings to the smooth operation of any business.
The gardens are immaculate and tranquil, and it is unbelievable to think you are in the middle of everything with the peace and quiet that pervades.
The little bistro / restaurant's menu is thankfully limited, as it means that the quality can be assured and anything that is made tastes deliciously homemade. The evening buffet is very good value for money!
Just a small note that due to loadshedding, sometimes the email/booking system gives some issues - so don't forget to just follow up once booked :)
GGuest UserA really enjoyable experience, lovely spotlessly clean, large, modern and new room with luxurious bedding and a superb shower. Located a 10 minute drive from OR Tambo, the only grumble is the transfer service which comes only once per hour. After a long flight the last thing you want is to wait ages for a pick up, especially when there are closer hotel options which provide more convenience. That's the only reason I would have second thoughts about staying here again, the hotel itself is superb.
GGS7The team at this hotel genuinely cares about their guests. From the warm welcome to the helpful advice, they go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay.”
10. ”If you're looking for a home away from home, this hotel is it! The cozy atmosphere, delicious breakfast, and friendly staff make it the perfect retreat.
