Overall, this hotel was a superb experience.
We arrived around 18.00 in the evening after a long drive. Unfortunately some technical error in their system required us to wait in the lobby for about 30min, but we were swiftly compensated in the form of free parking and a complimentary prosecco in the room.
The room itself was beautiful. Amazing view, very comfortable bed and TV placement, a very long bathtub. The only mild annoyance was that the bathroom light was finicky to turn on and adjust.
The spa is a must-experience, especially after a long drive from one side of Sweden to the other. It was excellent; nothing to complain about.
The best thing about Upper House however, is the breakfast. I have never had a better breakfast experience anywhere else in the world. I would gladly stay again just to eat their breakfast menu.
Very excellent stay, great service and great food. A solid 9.5/10 experience.

Transportation: We arrived in Gothenburg by train. The hotel is about 3 kilometers away from the train station. You need to take tram No. 2 or No. 4 to get there (note that the directions of No. 2 and No. 4 from the train station to the hotel are in opposite directions). ). Taking a taxi with Uber costs between 100-200kr. If there are 3-4 people traveling, the price is similar to that of public transportation. A single bus ticket here is 36kr. Uber prices change at any time, so the range is a bit wide.
Room: We booked a family room that can accommodate up to 5 people. It was considered a small suite. The big bed was separate from the other three beds, and there was a bathroom in between. The room is very clean. There is enough space.
Breakfast: There are many varieties, which is quite rich, but there is no salmon in terms of meat. All kinds of sausages and hams. Vegetables were few, just cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce.
This hotel is next to a paradise, just like domestic paradise hotels. If it is weekends and holidays, there will be many families with children staying. It will be a bit noisy at night and breakfast will be crowded.
Overall satisfied.

Very new hotel, we had a good stay experience. The hotel is in a good location. You can take the free ferry in about 2 or 3 minutes from the hotel. After getting off the ferry, you can reach the center of Gothenburg in about 10 minutes. The front desk is very enthusiastic and answers all questions. The breakfast is definitely Western style, and there are also many Swedish specialties. The bed is moderately soft and hard, and the pillow is a little short, but very comfortable. If you are lucky enough to stay in a room with a sea view (the photo is the night view outside the window), that is a plus.
I was a little surprised that there was no USB charging port in the room, after all, it is a newly opened hotel. But this does not affect the stay experience. The parking fee is not cheap, but the price is the same in the city center. In short, I will stay in this hotel if necessary.

Dusty and super cold room, they came with a hot air fan that barely helped but sounded like a fan. No ceiling lights so hard to get light in the room to see, only night lights. The location is great and the staff is good, but you shouldn't have to freeze and ceiling lights are a must if you need to be able to see clearly like me.

The hotel is very good, clean and tidy, the service staff is warm and thoughtful, and it is close to the lake with great scenery. If you want to go to the town hall and the church, there is a free ferry about 500 meters walk from the hotel. After getting off the ferry, walk about 800 meters to get there. You can also go shopping. Unfortunately, we arrived at night and didn't visit many places.
I'm deaf person and the hotel staff was very nice and helpful, we talked by writing in notebook too, and breakfast was yummy :) I was there in a expensive weekend than to other weekends, but what to do.. But the view from the window at the night was nice and making us calm. Unfortunately there in the TV I couldn't find subtitles in English language.
Good with few limitations
The hotel is very centrally located. The price is also positive: a good price-performance ratio, very friendly staff, includes dinner (a day-to-day dinner, soup and salad from the buffet, good and rich) as well as coffee/tea/cacao plus cakes in the afternoon.
Negative: a small room, sticky at night and a small bed (1.40m) with very soft mattress. The room was so small that we hardly passed each other. The request for two single beds and a hotel parking was not answered. The hotel has only a limited number of parking places, we found a cheap at the university, about 3 minutes walk.

DDejan SkaljacThe location could not be more central in the heart of Gothenburg. The hotel is a stone's throw from both the train and bus stations and walking distance from tons of restaurants and shops. The service is impeccable and the cleanliness exemplary - high gloss is the word!. I am not a pet owner but this little detail will warm the cockles of any dog owner's heart - the doggo welcome corner by the lifts across the aisle from the reception, with a bit of water and some dry nosh. (see picture). Great experience. A heart-felt recommendation for the hotel ,and a rave review for the breakfast!!!
AAnonymous UserReally close to train station and bus terminal, so perfect as for location. Good view at upper floor room, and surprisingly have air con. But no slippers and toothbrush, toothpaste provided so gotta bring your own or buy at reception.
AAnonymous UserSuper great hotel! It is recommended to book a superior room of 30 square meters, which is really large in Northern Europe. It is very cost-effective. The superior room has enough space to separate the bathtub and shower. It has double sinks and is very comfortable overall.
The toiletries have a very special smell, and the Chinese character ”Jing” on the bottle is very friendly. The hygiene is very good, and the cleaning staff is also very easy to communicate with. Even if the room is full of people on weekends, the cleaning is very fast!
The breakfast is good. There are free coffee machines on each floor, milk plant milk, as well as croissants, sandwiches, and snacks for you to enjoy. This is very special! You can enjoy the centuries-old castle architecture without leaving the hotel!
The rooftop swimming pool is said to be good but I didn’t go there. I might give it a try next time!
The location is undoubtedly the best choice for taking the train. The train station is very convenient for business and there are many restaurants and supermarkets. Accommodation is very convenient!
Gothenburg is not big, but the Volvo Museum and the Art Museum are more worth visiting!
special reminder! This city is nicknamed ”Little London” in autumn and winter because it is foggy and rains almost every day! But it’s just light rain, and it will stop for a while, so it’s best to bring a waterproof hard-shell windbreaker to wear over your down jacket! very important! This way you don’t need to bring an umbrella!
The restaurant on the second floor of the hotel! delicious! The sommelier is an Italian guy who is very talkative and knowledgeable about wine. The wine pairings he recommends are very good! It would be great to stay in this hotel and go directly to the second floor for dinner. The set menu is very cheap at four to five hundred Swedish kronor per person for three or four dishes, but I personally prefer a la carte! Recommended raw beef tartare is delicious! Fried artichokes are delicious too! Flounder is also good! Highly recommend this restaurant!
The restaurant is also very loving. It is closed on Sunday night in order to give homeless homeless people in Gothenburg an early Christmas and feel the warmth. All the restaurant chefs and service staff went to cook for them! On the big weekend, it was indeed Nordic style! Thumbs up!

SSean-168It's my third time to live in this hotel! It's very comfortable, convenient, very near to the airport! Free shuttle-bus to airport.Quite good restaurant and delicious breakfast!
NNaomi JadeLoved the location of this hotel as well as the downstairs communal areas. Also the size of the room was great.
Unfortunately the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and cheap so I barely slept a wink in my 3 nights there. I asked for an extra pillow as you only get one and that still didn’t help.
Staff were lovely when I did speak to them, but you can easily go by your whole stay without talking to someone which is a shame as you don’t get told any information.
There was also no fridge or safe in the rooms which I thought was pretty standard.
Food at the breakfast buffet was really good though. Great options for vegans/gluten free too.
YYogesh KaliaIts a great location, great bfast and very comfortable. rooms were bit cold but hotel staff helped their best in the situation and also provided with an extra heater that helped a lot.
