I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Centre for one night during my solo travels, and I couldn’t have been happier with my choice.
The location is absolutely fantastic—right in the heart of Auckland, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city. Many attractions, restaurants, and shops are just a short walk away, which saved me a lot of time and effort.
What stood out most, however, was the excellent staff. They were not only friendly and professional but went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. Whether it was check-in, providing local recommendations, or assisting with my queries, they were always helpful and approachable.
The room itself was clean, modern, and well-equipped, offering everything I needed for a comfortable night’s stay. The bed was cozy, and the overall atmosphere made it easy to relax after a day of exploring.
For solo travelers like myself, I highly recommend this hotel for its prime location, attentive staff, and excellent value for money. I’ll definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Auckland!
Luxurious and excellent stay in the heart of Auckland. Booking here was a no-brainer as it's one of the newer and more modern hotels in Auckland CBD + the newness of the bedroom amenities and hotel facilities really showed. The footbridge on level 4 connects this hotel to the older SkyCity Hotel across the street and made it really easy to take shortcuts to avoid traffic (plus great to use in wet weather). The only thing I raised with reception though was I specifically requested a room with nice city views, but was advised I'd have to pay an extra ~$350 NZD per night as these rooms were located on level 8 and onwards. I only knew of this after I entered the room, and noticed a distinct shadow being cast into the room. Turns out we got a room facing the new multi-level carpark being built, so didn't get direct sunlight or nice views. The other thing to note is, this hotel doesn't have a pool. Otherwise, if you're looking to stay somewhere close to shops and restaurants, this is a great option as everything is close in walking distance.
Park Hyatt was exquisite! Room was spacious and clean, and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended for those who are looking for a stylish, extravagant stay in Auckland.
Wow wow wow. We were amazed at our time here. We were not expecting such quality from an airport hotel. The room was lovely and modern with a great view. The most spectacular part was the hotel restaurant 10/10. The food was glorious. We had just come in from 18hours of travel. Dinner was out of this world. If you stay here the restaurant is well worth the added expense.
Service was really good, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean. The shuttle service from and to the airport was amazing but the only problem I had was the constant banging noises throughout the night, we were itchy sleeping, like bugs were biting us all night and the sewage smell that continually came up from the drains in the bathroom smelled really bad.
Awesome location in the central, few minutes walk from sky tower, supermarkets, Viator harbour. Rooms are spacious, clean and helpful reception. Yg was a helpful reception. Safe and clean place. Coffee, hot chocolate and varieties of teas are provided in the room. Good job!! Wish they could provided pair of room slippers.
The facilities are complete, and there is a commercial center across the road, which is very convenient for daily life and shopping. There is a transportation hub in the center, which is also convenient for travel.
Chose this accommodation as it is a 20min drive to the airport. The location is great because Westfield is just 3min walk away. The carpark is hidden around the block, it's easy to miss. Stayed on the 10th floor, the hotel door couldn't lock. I believe you need to lock inside before closing it. The apartment was a bit small but good enough for 3 adults. It is ideal for 2 adults and kids. Sound proof was good between the 2 rooms (just in case you have a loud snorer).
There is no WATER BOTTLE in the room , they told me $12 for water bottle.
There is no comb , tooth paste tooth brush.we cant expect these things as the were ask $12 for bottle.
I have no issues if that is part of there business policy , but come on how much person can drink water in 2 days!?? 2 bottles !? For comb and tooth
Brush may be $2 !?
Very clean rooms and its new build!
The location is very good, the Parnell area is close to the CITY, it is very convenient to go to the city center, a big downhill is here, of course, walking is not enough. The apartment is on a road and it is easy to drive. The hotel has a parking space with 22 knives a day. There is a Auckland War Museum to see. The size of the suite is still very large in Auckland. Clean, tidy, comfortable, quiet and well equipped. I especially like the Thai sister at the front desk. I am very warm and thoughtful, thank you very much. I will choose to stay here next time.

GGuest Userhad to book a lastmin overnight stay due to flight delay. Can take yellow bus or an Uber to the hotel. Price is the same if you are 2 adults. Note that no supermarket near the hotel but the restaurant inside is surprisingly good and affordable. No complaint.
Room is just standard and clean.
TTaylor Alicia JosephineBeing in town for an overnight staycation with attending to Auckland Cabaret Festival event, I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of Marsden Viaduct Hotel. My room was beautiful with a wonderful balcony view and bubble bath to pamper in as highlights. Within close walking distance to bars, restaurants and a captivating vista of the viaduct, it’s a wonderful way to feel elsewhere on holiday whilst being in the heart of the city. I’ll definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
JJon-MLHKThe experience was mostly good... staff were quite helpful except for 1 thing.... (see below); place was well located, clean.. ambient temperature was good even though there was only 1 a/c unit.. maybe be different in high summer..
encountered 2 issues:-
1) The door to balance is left opened.... hotel would not provide a key to lock it... as no key is given out... the lock may be incorporated in the door handle when lifted.. appeared this particular door may not be installed properly..
2) Very strange - The receptionist refused to reserved a parking space for me for some reason... (under 3 separately occassion, day after check-in, day before needing to use and the actual morning of the day of use).. and when i drove the rental car to the hotel.. it was full as apparently; i did not book....

AAnonymous UserWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location near the CBD was convenient, the accommodations were clean, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
GGuest UserWe’ve been using Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre for years, and it’s always a fantastic place to stay. The facilities are excellent, and the team consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly.
On the rare occasions we’ve had any issues, they’ve been quick, professional, and accommodating in resolving them. We really appreciate their great service and hospitality — highly recommend Waipuna to anyone looking for a reliable and welcoming venue.
MM. SoA clean and trendy hotel located at Upper Queen Street. The hotel has a gym, massage and an Italian restaurant downstairs. Staff were friendly. Convenience stores, bars and late night restaurants on Karangahape Road were around the corner. The core CBD was only an approximately 15-20 mins walk. Recommend!
