Overall a good experience with this hotel. Stayed here for 3 nights. There is a hot spring in hotel level 2. Bed and pillow was comfortable. Room was slightly small but cozy. Worth the price paid for.

My experience at Rhiga Royal Hotel was deeply disappointing. At hotels, I encountered many staffs (almost all) who appeared indifferent, cold, and emotionally detached. There were no smiles, no warmth, and no sense of welcome—only rigid, mechanical interactions. Despite paying a high price for accommodation, I felt like an inconvenience rather than a valued guest. Japan was once famous worldwide for its exceptional service culture and gracious hospitality. Based on my recent experience, that reputation no longer holds true. What remains is efficiency without kindness, politeness without sincerity, and service stripped of human warmth. This was not just disappointing—it was disheartening. The hotel appears to be quite old and poorly maintained. The condition of the room shows clear signs of long-term wear and neglect. As shown in the photo, the door frame and lock area are visibly damaged, with peeling paint, cracked surfaces, and poorly repaired sections. This is not a minor cosmetic issue but a sign of aging infrastructure that has not been properly renovated. The overall atmosphere feels tired and neglected, and the property would greatly benefit from serious renovation and refurbishment.

Cozy hotel with spacious rooms, and great onsen with indoor and outdoor shared bath. Place is clean and has a nice vibe to it. Walking distance from Kyoto station, but that’s also the closest subway station which is not ideal. Hotel is really strict with checkout, I have moved out of room right after 11, and while closing the door I could already hear the phone ringing. Each extra hour cost 3300 yen, which I think is crazy when you compare to the room rate. Other than that hotel has washing units separated by genders, a lot of vending machines and restaurant that serves Sukiyaki/shabu-shabu

The hotel's location is super convenient, with a bus stop nearby making travel a breeze. It's only a few stops from Kyoto Station, and you can get there in under 10 minutes by bus. The family room was great, especially having an extra small bed. There's a FamilyMart convenience store right across the street, and a cafe and breakfast spot downstairs. We tried breakfast both at the hotel and at a nearby place.

The room, while not large, was very well-designed. It was clean and hygienic, equipped with a small fridge and a safe, and the soundproofing was quite good. My room's orientation meant that the noise from motorbikes speeding down the main road at night wasn't much of an issue. The location is absolutely fantastic; you can drop off your shopping and head back out. There are 7-Eleven and FamilyMart convenience stores nearby, and directly opposite is the Bal department store. Just a short walk away, you'll find Uniqlo, Loft, Don Quijote, Takashimaya, and Nishiki Market... There are several bus stops for various routes nearby, and both Keihan and JR train stations aren't far. Plus, there are plenty of great restaurants. Overall, I highly recommend it. For those who are light sleepers, I'd suggest bringing an eye mask and earplugs.

This is my second time visiting Kyoto, and I opted for the Royal Garden Hotel Kyoto Nijo again. It's conveniently located with easy access to transport, and there are large supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The automated check-in and check-out process was also very smooth and convenient. On a hot day, being able to grab a cold drink at the lobby's beverage bar was a definite plus.

The room isn't small, it's very clean, and the view is great too! The staff are all super enthusiastic, speak English, and there's even a front desk attendant who speaks Chinese. There's a hot spring bath on the 13th floor ♨️, soaking in it after a day of exploring is just the best! The hotel's location is also excellent, with bus routes 80 and 5 nearby, and Gojo subway station is also close, just one stop from Kyoto Station. The surrounding area is lovely, quiet yet centrally located. Highly recommend!!

The hotel is conveniently located very close to Kyoto Station, making it incredibly easy to access transportation and shopping, all within a 10-minute walk. The room itself was quite spacious, equipped with a sofa, coffee table, and a desk, and a kettle was also provided. The entire hotel was very clean. The lobby felt grand and upscale, and the front desk staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

My family enjoyed our stay at Daiwa Roynet Terrace Kyoto Hotel. We booked 1 twin room and 1 triple room for 2 nights. We highly recommend this hotel of the following. Location- 3 minutes walk from Kyoto station, Nouhi bus stop, convenient to travel to other parts of Japan either by train or bus. There are a few shopping malls nearby and there is a 7 eleven store on the 1st level of the hotel. The hotel staff provide very excellent service. They even assist us to arrange for the delivery of our luggage to another hotel stay. Breakfast is good and there is a variety of food to choose from, traditional and western food. It is a new hotel and very clean. There is a wide range of amenities from the hotel lobby that we can pick up.

The room was spotless and well-equipped, though the space was quite limited. The staff were truly considerate; I wasn't sure how to sort the fruit, yogurt, and instant noodle packaging from my child's meal, and a hotel employee simply handed me a trash bag and offered to take care of it. For breakfast at the restaurant, the steak was my favorite, and my child enjoyed it too.

GGuest UserThe room was quite spacious, about 20 square meters, so there was plenty of space to lay out luggage without any worries. The bathroom was also a good size with a separate wet and dry area. However, I didn't use the shower there as I went to the large public bath on the 9th floor instead. Soaking in it was a great way to relieve the fatigue of a day of travel. The hotel is conveniently located right next to a bus stop, offering easy access to places like the National Museum, Ichiran Ramen (Shijo branch), and Shinshindo Bakery (Shijo branch).

__zfb2088002094772335The room was very quiet, and the breakfast offered a choice of Japanese and Western buffets. There's a souvenir shop next to the lobby that closes at 5 PM, where you can buy gifts. The location is very close to Nishi Hongan-ji Temple, and the giant ginkgo trees there are beautiful. It's about a six or seven-minute walk to the subway.

IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves. When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service. The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point. There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.

GGuominziThe attention to detail at this hotel is exceptional. The hotel's brochure provides incredibly detailed information about all facilities and their origins, covering everything from furniture and bedding brands down to the specific brand of mouthwash cups. The rooms are also spacious, and the air conditioning is remarkably quiet. The bakery in the ground floor lobby is delicious – truly, good ingredients make for great taste! I particularly liked the greenery right at the hotel entrance and the overall decor of the lobby. The only minor drawback is the lack of a convenience store nearby; you have to walk about 500-600 meters to find a FamilyMart.

MMiwangdenvhuangdiThe location is superb, right by Kyoto Station and just a two-minute walk from the exit. As a designer hotel, it certainly met expectations; the staff's strong service-mindedness made for a very comfortable stay. However, the lack of basic amenities such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower caps, and cotton pads was a letdown. For a supposed five-star hotel, I found this to be incredibly cheap. Especially considering the high nightly rate; a two-night stay certainly wasn't inexpensive.

GGuest UserHotel Granvia's location is absolutely fantastic! It's right on the second floor, accessible by elevator on the left once you enter the main entrance of Osaka Station. Plus, there are several other entrances, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. Even just around the hotel, there's so much to explore. Inside the station, you'll find both Isetan and Porta shopping malls. The ramen at Ramen Street on Isetan's 10th floor is also delicious – I recommend the tantanmen; it's spicy and incredibly satisfying! When checking out, I bought a Hello Kitty Haruka e-ticket directly on Klook, and I could just scan my phone to enter and exit. The entrance is also right downstairs from the hotel, directly opposite the Kyoto Station entrance. If it's your first time visiting Kyoto, I highly recommend staying at Hotel Granvia.

GGuest UserOnline hotel bookings can often feel like a blind box draw, but Dusit Thani was definitely the right pick. Every staff member I encountered had an excellent attitude, the room was spotless, and even though the turndown service only provided a bottle of water, it was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Thai brands truly excel in their service consciousness and aesthetic sense. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and with no other guests in the public lobby areas, I thoroughly enjoyed the bliss of reading a book alone.

Gglow28Extremely convenient location. Hotel 3F connected to the department store. Department store lift to B1 connected to Hankyu railway to Osaka. Easy to find taxi outside of the hotel. Many restaurants around the area. The room is big in Japan standard. Our room has a cozy sofa corner. The shower and deep bathtub is great for relaxation. The hotel breakfast is also nice and offer a great selection of food. Extended check out time cost 2000yen per hr. It allows flexibility.
