I've stayed here three times already. The room was clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was spotless, the bathtub was great, and the hot water worked perfectly. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, and the nasi lemak was absolutely delicious! However, the only aspect that needs improvement is the pool facilities. The pool water was a bit dirty, and there were limited chairs around the pool area. Overall, everything else was fantastic!
Overall, it was a pleasant stay the room was comfortable and service was good. However, the parking area could use more space, and the water heater needs improvement as the water turns from hot to warm after some time.
Check-in was smooth. Room was clean and comfortable. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast spread was good. Supper provided between 11pm to midnight. Supper consists of porridge with braised peanuts and chicken floss. On one night we had green bean soup and the next night was black glutinous rice with coconut milk. Very yummy. There was soya milk too. Gym was okay.
The location was excellent, very close to UTAR. The breakfast was generous and tasty, and parking was also easy. Our room was spacious, and the air conditioning was very cold. The only minor flaw was a peculiar smell in the bathroom that needs improvement.
Everything in this hotel is good, location, cleanliness, service, except The rooms are a bit dark because the walls are all in black, insufficient lights in the bathroom.
Improvement needed:
The main entrance location is not convenient for elderly guests or people with accessibility challenges.
A big no for the parking system, which operates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. I spoke with the receptionist — a young Indian gentleman — and explained that my mother uses a wheelchair. I asked if he could help reserve a basement parking spot for easier access. He refused and made no effort to find an alternative solution or show any empathy. His attitude was dismissive and unprofessional, which reflects very poor customer service.
Since this is part of the hospitality industry, front desk staff should be well trained in customer service and communication. Unfortunately, he seemed untrained and unaware of how to handle guests with special needs.
The good/positive thing:
1. The hotel lobby and several floors have been renovated. A water dispenser is available, and there’s a 7-Eleven store conveniently located on the ground floor.
2. The driver and security guards provided outstanding service.
When they noticed my mother struggling to get into the shuttle van, they showed genuine care and empathy. They immediately coordinated to reserve a basement parking spot for us. The arrangement was ad hoc but handled quickly and thoughtfully.
Their warm-hearted support truly touched my family and me. The hotel owner is lucky to have such kind and compassionate staff members — they made a lasting positive impression despite the earlier unpleasant experience.
I recently stayed at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed from check-in to check-out. The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of the city, walking distance to shops/restaurants/public transport. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully furnished, with comfy bedding, a well-designed layout, and amenities that included [list: e.g. espresso machine, high-speed Wi-fi, luxurious toiletries].
What really stood out was the staff service — everyone was warm, attentive and professional. From welcome greetings to helpful recommendations and prompt responses to requests, it made a big difference. The food and dining experience were also excellent: the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of fresh, delicious options, and dinner at their onsite restaurant was memorable. loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it.
We're frequent travellers to Ipoh on monthly basis. As we arrived early before 3pm this time, counter staff was working on allowing about 2 hours of early check-in, appreciated. Vehicle parking process was well explained. Restaurant staff were friendly during breakfast session.
Definitely will come again. The receptionist was so nice and helpful. BFF Restaurant provide us 10% discount as in-house guests every purchased! The food portion was huge and the taste was amazing too.
Very good service by Sunway staffs, all smiles and patience and friendly with kids. My son is very happy from enjoying this Lost world zoo trip! 5 stars
You can only check in after 3pm due to their small amount of rooms, so DO NOT come earlier! But the staff are really good to call me when room is ready so I really appreciate that.
The location is also very good if you are planning to go Lost World, but other than that it is a pain in the ass to travel to old town or central area of Ipoh for good food, just secluded area. Prebook Jeff Cellar since it's in the same area if you want high end but good food. Sunway should not only sell their own products (white label) but also should include things outside like chips or medicine. Not really convenient when all the ground floor of hotel / inside Lost World doesn't have midnight snacks that isn't Sunway branded 😂
Very Good

AAnonymous UserThe location is near the city area, near most of the attractions, the room and hotel environment is very clean. Need to go over to the receptionist to waive the car park fee every time you go out. The swimming pool is near the outdoor carpark. A water dispenser is available on every floor.

We had a wonderful stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort from 28–30 September 2025. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the resort itself is beautiful with serene views of the sea.
At first, our room was close to the lobby with less privacy, but the team quickly arranged a room change to a higher floor with an amazing view. We were also pleasantly surprised with the thoughtful touches — a birthday cake and towel decoration for our son’s 9th birthday, which truly made our trip extra memorable.
Our family enjoyed the facilities, and the kids especially loved the pool and beach. We would love to see more family-oriented activities for children in the future, but overall, the experience was excellent.
Thank you to the DoubleTree Damai Laut team for making our family trip and our son’s birthday celebration so special. Highly recommended!
CCHANFamilyI had a wonderful stay at M Roof Hotel in Ipoh. The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful, making check-in and check-out smooth.
The location is great — easy to get to Ipoh’s famous food spots and attractions, but still quiet and peaceful. I also enjoyed the hotel facilities and the overall design, which felt fresh and stylish. Definitely good value for money.
KKhairainStayed at this as hotel it use to be the best hotel in Ipoh when I was young. Over the years a lot of new hotel in ipoh. Impiana hotel is not like it use to be. Very bad staff management. Room that I book I wasn’t sure it was a premier room as some of other family members book a normal room look exactly the same as my room. The rooms also very outdated and only 1 lift was working out of 3 lift.

WWillliamWe stayed at the AC Suite for 4 nights. Below are our comments and opinions.
The positive :
- Good and central location. Walking distance to the largest mall in Ipoh and plenty of good food places.
- Nice, clean lines and modern design.
- The suite is very spacious, consisting of a sitting area, bedroom, walk in closet, full bathroom and powder room.
- King size bed is good and generally comfortable. I find the pillows too soft, not a negative comment but this is just my preference.
The negative :
- Checking in and out took longer than expected or necessary.
- Room amenities could be much improved such as bathrobes, have a hand towel and soap in the powder room will be nice.
- The floor in the room which is timber look-alike vinyl tiles can be kept a bit cleaner, I find it slightly dusty.
Otherwise the overall is positive and will recommend this place.
