Our stay was great! It's not walking distance to the tourist spots but all of them are within the area and hailing a taxi is not a problem at all. We also prefer not to walk š But if preferred, it's possible as everything is near the area!
We tried their heated pool while it rained, and we really enjoyed it! Such an experience with a cold weather in Baguio!
The breakfast buffet is awesome! We love everything and their menu differs per day! The original flavor taho, strawberry and ube are such a delight! I think the only missing is cereals. First time to eat strawberry champorado! š
At first I was hesitant if the room will have a fast wifi for me to work. Viola! The room as a router! I was able to work with ease! We love the smart TV -- you only need to sign in your own Netflix account. We love our room view. We don't have to go to SM to see the Baguio city lights.. we already have it in the room. We have a balcony overseeing the pool area as well! We so love our room! š Only thing is maybe they should add another desk or longer desk. The TV is already in the table and there is no separate desk for laptop or if you are having snacks/dinner. We asked, but they don't have a spare table. I think they can also add another chair since the room is good for two. There's only one chair in the room but when we requested for it, they were able to provide.
Our room also allowed us to feel the breeze of Baguio! We can turn-off the AC and open the windows protected by mosquito net! I was just amazed with this feature!
We truly appreciate their prompt service whenever we call the reception. We don't need to call for follow-up! We love them!
We love that there is a bathtub and hoping they can also provide bath robes for a perfect bath! š
Truly, we love to be back to SotoGrande whenever in Baguio! š«¶ Thank you SotoGrande for an awesome experience!
This hotel is clean and comfy to stay at. It is also equipped with AC. Not so spacious but still okay. We still had a nice time since we spent most of our time outside and just stayed here to rest and sleep. The Amare La Cucina within the hotel premises is a big plus especially that my son loves their food a lot! Very accessible also to Victory Liner terminal.
Not so accessible to tourist spots but thereās a lot of cabs available within the vicinity. Super thanks to kuya guards who are very accommodating in calling the taxi for us everytime we go out.
The hotel staff are nice and accommodating, too. They helped me when we were looking for my sonās phone and gladly, we found it. Thank you to the very fast maintenance personnel for the rescue š
It was a nice stay and I would choose Microtel again whenever I go back to Baguio š
Checking In: Swift and was able to check in 30 mins before 2 PM
Room: About time for some renovation. The room I have booked has no view.
Breakfast Buffet: Satisfying
Checking Out: Took 10 minutes, they will check the room first.
Overall: 4/5 Rating for me
There are a few points would like to bring up
1. The ceiling fan in the room is functional,
However, the wind is totally not strong enough, so turning it on means not turning it on.
2. No YouTube/Netflix function on TV. Staying other hotels in Baguio which the said functions are available as well. But here no.
3. The hangers in wardrobe are so inconvenient, It can only be hung in the closet and cannot be taken away. Sometime want to hang clothes at the balcony but have no way.
4. Suggest to have USB socket ports at the bed side would be more convenient
5. Seems no individual button could control the light of baloncy. Seems the light is connected to some of the lights in room.
6. Front desk are friendly but can be more professional. Approached to the reception but no one acknowledged. We have to tell them ācheck inā proactively
7. Prior arrival, sent the message to hotel for the room inquire, the first they replied, but afterwards, no replied from hotel anymore.
8. Breakfast not much selection. And many staffs at the counter
9. Shower water pressure not strong enough and hot water not hot enough. And no water refill after make up room service.
Even so, base on the hotel location and the mountain view, will consider staying again in the future. Hope the management will review the comments and hopefully will see some improvements by then.
Thank you!
This hotel has some good points:
1. Great buffet bfast with a variety of food selections. I like their dried fish, omelette, langgonisa, coffee, breads, fruits. But noticed they did not serve bananas. Staff looks attentive to the needs of guests.
2. Have greats restos and shops nearby. Also near the CJH Conference area.
3. Has ample parking and nice garden plus heated pool.
However this hotel also needs improvement on the following areas:
1. Front desk looks like they are not coordinated. Made separate booking for three nights via Agoda and Trip.com and informed the hotel about this arrangement. However, after our first night, front desk asked us if we are extending our stay. Worst, they deactivated our key cards so we have to go down again to have them activated again which caused some inconvenience.
2. Toilet has a foul odor so called housekeeping who took some time to attend to us. They told us what to do to avoid the foul smell but some unpleasant smell still remained so reported this to the team leader who sent their engineering to check. The hotel staff told us they will return but never did. So problem was not solved.
3. Requested for late checkout since our trip back to Manila was still at 2pm. However, front desk cannot commit and said will require approval. We followed up and got no positive feedback. Called team leader and made complaints about issues 1-3 and had our request accepted.
4. Very difficult to book a taxi or grab and the guards said because of too many guests or tourists. But itās a pity that such an expensive hotel also has no shuttles service.
We booked this hotel because itās near the conference area but disappointed because we felt we didnāt get the value and services we were expecting. Anyway, thanks to the great staff.
The hotel was good, the breakfast buffet was good but our room wasnāt sound Proof. We could hear the noise yelling from downstairs at night. We couldnāt sleep.
The location is near the center of baguio and its below SM..the room is clean and have an aircon its just quite old hotel if you like a old baguio vibes this is for you..it is cozy for me..you can hear noise outside and hallway because of the hotel being in a wood structure..
Room description not indicated (no view or miuntainview) unlke with other booking app. Our room was noisy because of the exhaust. It was hot in the room and with poor ventilstion.
Service was good overall, although there are things left to be improved. Room was comfy but for some reason, the fan is slow, which matters since there is no air conditioning. Breakfast is good, too. Location is walkable from SM and Session, which is good. A bit of noise from the construction site nearby and Baguio cathedral bells but nothing disturbing about it. It's a good budget hotel.
One thing though, when we got to the hotel, the staff said they are not affiliated with Trip.com so our booking was rerouted to Agoda/Expedia, which was weird. We had to call Trip.com customer support to check.

AAnonymous UserThe landlady and other staff are very hospitable and accomodating. Great tranquil view in the terrace while enjoying morning coffee.
Restaurant, laundry shop, mini store and water refilling station within the building for easy access.
They will also help to arrange shuttle service to the municipal hall during checkout, which is helpful for those with a lot of baggage.
There is a slope to climb getting to the inn, so it is not advisable for elderly/pwd.
Also there are a few couple hours within the day that there is no water supply but it is not an issue since you'll be out exploring town.
