The staff was very helpful and professional. Before our stay, I inquired about shipping our luggage to the airport, and as we checked in they had information for me for when I needed to bring my luggage down. Also, I didn't need to do any of the paperwork (as I did at Karaska Hotel in Tokyo). The staff took care of everything for me. All I had to do was pay for it.
The hotel is connected to the train station via the Midori market place. From the second floor of the hotel we accessed the Midori market area where we purchased a lof of our omiyage(gifts for friends). The train station had about 4 floors of stores attached to it. We had breakfast at the train station -- a small udon stand. The location was very good and I would definitely book here again. The train station has a pedestrian bridge on the second floor that connects to the Don Quixote across the street. 2 km away is the Zenkoji Temple, where there is a shopping street and a large Buddhist temple to visit.
Our room was cleaned every day and they were very conscientious and very careful. They left a note saying that any cups with liquids are left as is just in case. There was three of us sharing a room with two singles and an additional bed. The room was spacious even with three of us sharing. There was a little table with two chairs on the side.
Highly surprised with thjs room! So spacious and well-equipped with amenities! Parking is also available although one has to walk abit as it is behind the hotel. There are 2 TV’s and 1 remote so will need to toggle left and right. Bed is good although pillow can be more firm in my own opinion.
With mountain view and waking up to sunrise, what a way to wake up. We didn’t have breakfast so we wouldn’t know about the variety. There’s a convenience store just a few blocks down.
Overall, we enjoyed out stay here in Hotel JAL - specifically this room :D
Hotel staff service was top tier. Check-in counter staff allowed me to use their telephone for local call when I needed it urgently and even asked if I would be okay with Japanese and offered to help me call. Felt really relieved that help was provided without me asking and it was really touching. Check in counter staff were also sincere with their service and had wide smiles on their faces.
The room was quite old but clean, quite contrasting to the modern lobby they had.
Breakfast was amazing, so much choices (from smoothies to a katsu station) and delicious. Would recommend if you have the time in the morning.
The room was large and we could see the suwa lake. The beddings were prepared by staffs and breakfast was also good. We could also enjoy the onsen downstairs. Also they let us check out an hour later. Perfect experience
The room was spacious with a beautiful church view. The front desk staff spoke English fluently, which was very helpful. They assisted us twice with calling a taxi, and we really appreciated that! The hotel is conveniently located right on Ginza Street, making it easy to shop and dine.
It was a great experience to stay in this hotel! Very nice view and staff are very polite and willing to answer many questions. Outdoor area is very big that we could take bicycles with kids. Also there are kids outdoor playground that can spend whole day there.
It is a pleasure to stay at this hotel because of its cleanliness and the services it provides. Despite the fact that the property is old and needs some renovation, I am still happy to leave a very good review. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to Matsumoto station. Additionally, it offers complimentary onsen access at another hotel, with shuttle bus service included. Hotel guests should make full use of these. Reminder: To ensure your seat at the onsen, please make the reservation by 9am every day. I will stay at this hotel again when I visit Matsumoto next time.
The location of the hotel is close to Yudanaka Station, only 4-minute walk. The twin room is spacious and comfortable, but the area near the window is slightly cold. The onsen is clean and spacious.View woman outdoor onsen ia great, can clearly see the mountains. The kaiseki dinner was very deicious. We are very impressed with Tsubakino Hotel.
It was my first time staying in this hotel, my second time in Hakuba.
The hotel staff was very nice and helpful.
The equipment in the hotel is clean and new. I also liked the design of the hotel.
One slight disadvantage was that the hotel was far from many facilities in Hakuba; it would be fine if I were driving. The heat in the summertime makes moving around Hakuba difficult.
The inn is exquisitely decorated, with a classic, elegant style. It's spotless and tidy, and the rooms are filled with Japanese charm; even the lamps and telephones are reusable vintage items, which is quite unique.
The men's and women's hot spring baths are alternated for guests' use. There's also a separate open-air bath, which is very comfortable.
Breakfast and dinner were delicious, beautifully presented, and the service was attentive.
I would love to stay here again if I had the chance to return.

CChenieeOne of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. We visited in early November 2025 during the autumn season, and the beautiful foliage added such a romantic touch to the surroundings.
I loved the modern interior, the comfortable bed, and the overall room layout. The hotel looks incredibly romantic at night too, especially with the reflections on the pond.
The outdoor onsen was a highlight. It felt serene at night, and the maple trees lit up in the evening made it absolutely scenic. The onsen is located in a separate building, so you do have to walk through the cold, but it wasn’t an issue as the hotel provides thicker robes. If I had to nitpick, the indoor slippers weren’t the most comfortable.
We drove during our stay, so getting to nearby attractions was easy. There’s a large supermarket and a pharmacy about 5–10 minutes away, which was very convenient — we didn’t even need to visit any convenience stores.
This hotel impressed me so much that it made me look up where else Hotel Indigo has branches in Japan!
NNuonuokafeiThe classic Karuizawa Resort Hotel, which has been passed down for more than 100 years, has been restored to its original state. It will welcome guests with a brand new look in 2024. There is a pick-up at the hotel's pick-up area at the south exit of Karuizawa Station. The car is parked a little inside and you have to look for it. There is a bus at 2:30 in the afternoon. If there is no bus, take a taxi directly to the hotel, which costs about RMB 60. The hotel's etiquette reception is impeccable. Every staff member is warm and friendly. The room is just the best time to live. It is brand new but no longer decorated. I booked a better room with a terrace than the basic room. I was given a corner room with large double-sided glass. The room is so beautiful. The terrace is quite small and I have never been out. The basic room of the hotel is also very large. There is no problem. Every room is comfortable to live in. It is recommended to include meals. Dinner is 16,500 yen plus 1,000 yen to upgrade the meat. The meat is tender and delicious. It is worth it! Every dish was delicious, the right temperature, the best quality. Breakfast was 5700 yen, not bad, but the quality was not as good as the breakfast in Nikko Jingu. The boiled egg was hard to open without an egg opener, the bacon was not crispy, and the toast was not toasted. I was a little disappointed, but the service was still perfect. The curtains in the room were very blackout, which was highly praised. There were many buses going to and from the station to go shopping at the outlets. It was easy to buy. There were all the big sports brands and the styles were new. In summary, I would stay here again if I went to Karuizawa.
MMeowVanWhat an awesome experience! The hotel offered exemplary service before we even arrived. Due to special travel arrangements, we arrived late and the staff quick to arrange an in-room bento dinner for us before our arrival. When we got there, we were immediately blown away by the gorgeousness of the hotel.
Despite its age, everything was very clean and polished. I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful. We couldn’t resist taking pictures even after check-out, and it took us an hour to finally reluctantly leave. Words cannot actually do the place justice, you must visit there yourself.
We were very impressed with how delicious the food was, and the attention to detail, including the placement of the food, the coordination of food color. My mouth is still watering as I recall how delicious it was. I had 10 helpings of their prime rib one day. Besides, I had a dietary restriction and the staff were really careful with that, to the extent of reminding me what dishes not to eat everyday at their breakfast and dinner buffet.
In addition to excellent food and service, the hotel went out of its way to be very eco-friendly. For every day that we did not need our room to be tidied, we earned points, which can be traded in for ice cream or other goodies.
Finally, the staff spoke perfect English. This is rare indeed, and it made everything so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Thanks for the experience!

Kkfmy1225Even though we arrived after 11pm, the hot spring was still open. The hot spring was very comfortable and satisfying. However, even though I had contacted them in advance to say I would be arriving late, they contacted me in the evening of my stay to say that dinner was ready. I wish they had confirmed whether dinner would be available in the evening when I contacted them in advance. Also, the futon was too thin, so my body ached and I couldn't get rid of my fatigue.
PPangI am from Hong Kong, but I did not stay in this hotel. Originally I booked Villa Ichinose, but 3 days before departure I received an email from Villa Ichinose saying that due to a problem with the room's machinery, they would arrange to move me to another hotel called Mount Shiga. I stayed in a tatami room in that hotel and there were no chairs. After skiing all day, I had to sit on a mattress on the ground to rest. I need an extra pillow to make my lower back more comfortable. When I opened the door where the pillows and quilts were placed and took out a pillow, I was stunned. The pillow was dirty, full of saliva stains, yellow and moldy. I believe it hadn't been cleaned for at least a month to be so dirty and noticeable. Such sanitary conditions make me very uneasy. I took pictures of the pillow and room key to prove it. My main point is that the person in charge of Villa Ichinose should not have transferred me to a very old and unhygienic hotel. I can't comment on other aspects because I didn't stay there. But the location is very good, right next to the Ichinose bus stop, and the hotel environment is nice (because I was going to this hotel to pick up my snowboard bag, so I went in to take a look).

Llouise-luoThe location is great, right outside the ski slope, but the room is really small, it's hard to put two big suitcases. Fortunately, there is a cabinet downstairs to put snowboards and snowshoes. The breakfast is very ordinary, the hot food is only rice with vegetables and soup. It's very comfortable to take a bath downstairs after skiing.
