I recently stayed at **Escala Tagaytay**, and it was a **wonderful experience overall**. The hotel’s location is one of its best features, offering **breathtaking views of Taal Lake** and a serene atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxation.
The rooms were **spacious, clean, and well-designed**, providing a cozy and comfortable stay. The **infinity pool overlooking the lake** was a definite highlight, making for a scenic and peaceful escape. The hotel grounds were also well-maintained, adding to the overall charm of the place.
Service was generally **good**, with the staff being polite and accommodating. However, during peak times, there were slight delays in requests, but nothing too inconvenient. The **breakfast selection was decent**, though it could use a bit more variety.
Overall, **Escala Tagaytay is a great choice** for those looking to unwind and enjoy a beautiful, relaxing getaway. I would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting Tagaytay, especially for couples or families looking for a peaceful retreat.
A warm welcome at hotel. Lobby has nice ambience. Helpful staff. Room is safe in separate part of building. Nice breakfast- restaurant- bar. Quiet. Went to other location to use pool. It’s near a beautiful cathedral. . Good value. Recommend.
The facilities were okay but not exactly what I would expect from a four star accommodation. The finishings look old but are still serviceable. The breakfast buffet was good. The Bangus ala Pobre was well seasoned and filling. There were also two real fruit juice options which was nice.
The hotel is near to the place of my brothers meeting. It has a huge parking lot, a pool and the room was clean. Staff was accommodating to our request. Kudos to you guys. We'll surely be back again. Thank you
Best resort in Matabungkay, hands down! We received a free upgrade from the hotel with a fantastic view. The location, which is right on the beach, is fantastic. The staff is excellent and the resort is kept up beautifully, really well maintained. During our three days and two nights there, we noticed that the surroundings were clear of leaves and dirt, the pool was kept clean, and the water was changed on a daily basis. The room is large and attractive, with a modern theme mixed with elements of traditional home. Additionally, there are common areas where you can socialize and play with other visitors. The employees provide the best service and are courteous and professional! During our vacation, we truly enjoyed ourselves and unwinded. By the way, their breakfast is the finest! One of my favorite vacations
7/10. Would have been an 8 but major letdown was the hard bed at banaba deluxe rooms
PROS
- serene and peaceful place with lots of nature
- lots of pools and free activities
- service is topnotch, they make u feel like a VIP
- very large room (banaba deluxe)
- not so far away from metro manila (2-3hrs only)
CONS
- food is expensive and no beef/pork. Dont stay here if ur looking for a gastronomic treat. Yes the place is abt wellness, but i think u can still achieve that with a wide variety of food choices with all meats to cater for diff people
- bed was HARD. Not even firm, HARD. After a day of activities u want a relaxing bed to sleep but sadly bed was hard at banaba deluxe rooms
- massage is so expensive, like 8k pesos and above
- they get a 10k deposit upon checkin, charge ur card right away but when u ask for refund slip upon checkout they say they dont have, wait for email. Its so easy to reverse and refund on the terminal.
Overall, it was a great experience. The amenities were amazing — lots of activities to enjoy, whether you're into relaxing or staying active. You definitely won’t run out of things to do!
The food was delicious, and the staff were all so kind and accommodating. They even granted our request for a room with a stunning view of Taal Volcano — waking up to that scenery was truly unforgettable.
Cleanliness was good, I’d give it a 4 out of 5. There’s a little room for improvement, but it didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment.
If you're looking for a peaceful escape with great food, fun activities, and breathtaking views, I highly recommend Canyon Woods!
The hotel was beautiful. The room we got was spacious for a family of 3. It had a wonderful view, where the location was truly remarkable. It showcased the possibility of wanting to live there. The pool too was well planned that you'd be swimming with mountain on view.
I plan to go back there soon.
Service and quality of experience was outstanding for a boutique resort in the Philippines.
Food was very good, but I felt the menu could use a few more options. For example, it's fine to offer an extravagant ultra-indulgent double sized burger (which tasted good by the way), but sometimes guests with smaller appetites might like a burger, too.

GGuest UserThe room is very clean and it's really like a hotel it has a comforter like the ones you see at hotels we availed the deluxe room so its not that spacious specially the comfort room only one person can fit in. You can bring your own drinks or foods too inside the resort you don't need to pay a corkage fee. They have court for basketball and volleyball the price is cheaper when you rent it in daytime. We also tried their full body massage for 1 hr that cost us 750 pesos each. You will need to go to their resto to claim your free breakfast if you avail the room that comes with a breakfast, it will not be delivered to your room but you can choose whichever breakfast meal they have in their menu plus it comes with a soup which is great and their foods taste delicious also the price of their food is reasonable but they have a 10% service charge for dine in and 15% for room service. The resto's cutoff for room service is 5pm, 7pm for dine in. The resort's downside is their operations time the front desk and restaurant is only open from 7am-8pm so if you're going to need something from the front desk after that time no one can assist you because they'll be gone by then only the guard will be left in the front door and also if you got hungry at night you might need to buy food from their resto before they closes or buy from a nearby convenient store because there's also no foodpanda or grabfood nearby stores also closes early so you have to plan your dinner ahead of time. We went to SM (closes at 9pm) the fare going there using tricycle is 120pesos.Their pool is only open till 9pm only if you want to eat or drink near the pool you can use their cabanas. Another downside is the beach, the beach area closes at 8pm. Their sand is gray (but a fine sand) you can't really swim in it because the waves are strong and the water is not clear and it's kinda dirty there's a lot of trash beside the beach it's not well maintained. You will really need to go island hopping which is already not part of the resort's activity so they'll let you sign a waiver. There's a lot of bangkero beside the beach it's best to ride by group there's only 2 of us when we rode the boat so it's a bit expensive, island hopping will cost you around 2000 (1 island) to 3.5k (2 islands) we availed the 3.5k. We went coral diving (they lent us their goggles for free or bring your own goggles) and also went at the white sand beach which is in Bauan, Batangas which also has clear water and you can also spot some fish and corals, travel time going to those 2 places is 35-45mins you can also bring your food but keep in mind to really cover it in plastic so it won't get wet because the trip going there is really rocky you will really get wet because you will pass by a strong waves so cover all your belongings. It was raining when we went there so maybe that's why the waves are strong. Overall we had a blast! We indeed had a memorable stay. They even gave us a gift when we checked out they're so thoughtful. Thank you for the wonderful experience we will surely recommend you to our friends.

VVinaVanessaHere's an elaborate review based on your stay at Taal Vista Hotel:
**Hotel Review: Taal Vista Hotel (Stay Date: January 4-5)**
My recent stay at Taal Vista Hotel was a blend of elegance and family-friendly amenities, though not without a few quirks.
Pros:
1. **Elegant Ambiance:** Taal Vista Hotel exudes elegance, especially with its grand architecture and beautifully maintained grounds. The back of the hotel features a spacious area perfect for strolling and playing, with breathtaking views of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano.
2. **Family-Oriented:** This hotel is a haven for families. The expansive lawn provides ample space for children to run and play.
3. **Wide Parking Space:** Ample parking space makes it convenient for guests arriving with their vehicles.
4. **Breakfast Buffet:** Though the breakfast buffet had limited choices, every dish served was delicious and satisfying.
**Cons:**
1. **Unheated Pool:** Unfortunately, the pool is unheated, which might be a downside for those looking to take a dip in colder weather.
2. **Outdated Room:** The room we stayed in felt quite old and outdated. The chair and sofa had tacky covers, likely because they were really old.
3. **Towel Availability:** Surprisingly, there were no towels in our room upon arrival. We had to request them, which was quite disappointing considering this is a 5-star hotel.
In conclusion, Taal Vista Hotel offers a beautiful and serene environment, ideal for families, but could use some updates in the rooms and better attention to detail in terms of amenities like towels.

MMa Theresa DayThe room is ok for small family. The swimming pool is small, no available pool towel or life guard to watch. The pool is located in the 9th floor with overlooking view.
GGuest UserThis was an amazing trip! I haven't had a chance to write a review but here it goes.
1. The staff - Super amazing and friendly, always smiling and helpful.
2. The managers - great, caring, funny and always went above and beyond to help and accommodate.
3. Resort - Amazing ocean view and lots of activities, we went back 3 times in a span of 2 weeks. Lol
4. Room - clean and comfortable!
5. Food and drinks - delicious and amazing! One of the best in the Philippines.
I've been to many hotels and resorts worldwide, but this has been the top of all of my stays. The vibe, the friendliness, activities, food and drinks. I've never felt so relaxed and I didn't even need to use my phone. No stress and all good vibes! Waking up to see the ocean with a nice cup of coffee with smooth music, it makes the hours of drive (almost 4 hours one way) to there well worth it.
In my opinion, this was more than a stay, this was an unforgettable experience! We have been through the regular days and also the typhoon days, they have been amazing and helpful the whole time! It was definitely an adventure! Now I'm back in Florida again and I miss this place, but I'm planning a visit the Philippines next year and I will make this my top place to visit!
JJuvy BendijoWe enjoyed our stay though it would have been perfect if the housekeeping paid attention to cleanliness - it’s pet friendly so the lobby and the room has a foul smell that could really use some thorough cleaning.
The tray for the free water was dirty, we didn’t use the water glasses afraid it is not clean as well.
The pool was not that clean as well - maybe it was due to the rain, I donno lol. The rain ruined the garden feel and would have been so relaxing to visit their garden :( which we were not able to do.
The reception agents were helpful - they went above and beyond by helping me with the water heater :) thank you!
Amenities like hair dryer, coffee, shampoo and laundry bag were not ready in the room and I have to request them by calling before it’s provided. It was all complimentary so it’s ok :)
The restos are reasonably priced and the food was ok ~ we had dinner at Sweet Knot Haven and breakfast at Bodhi cafe.
EESTEE GWA7Overall experience is good and we are planning to go back sometime in week 4 of MAY or week 1 of JUNE 2025. It was a great experience and good accommodation for the amount we paid. Although, the room where we stayed ( Room 211 ) has no internet at all so we heavily rely on our mobile phone data. I need to check my business operation but without internet in quite unusual for a hotel accommodation nowadays. Hope to be placed in a room with internet connection in our next stay 3 weeks from now.
JJherruIts a great place, good amenities with multiple choice of pools. You can enjoy together with your friend family. They also offer lot of exciting variety of foods. The restaurant has a very good overlooking view of the mountain. Great Customer service. All staff was great and accomodating.
