This hotel is a real gem! The location is fantastic – right outside the train station exit, just turn right and you're there. There are all sorts of restaurants around; the most popular one, Sen-Sushi, usually has a queue, but others have available seating. I highly recommend the farm chicken cake shop – delicious, beautifully presented, and they even have merchandise. The hotel itself is excellent; the lobby is impressive, and the rooms are spacious. From my room, I could overlook the entire city and Tsugaru Strait. The bed was huge. The hotel's hot spring was very relaxing, especially in the morning when you can enjoy Aomori apple juice in the blue zone while gazing at the sea – it was a truly comfortable experience. There were many other facilities to try, but unfortunately, I didn't have enough time. The staff were all very kind and attentive. Absolutely perfect!
The hotel is quite far from Hirosaki Station. It may take 15-20 minutes to walk there, but the hotel has a shuttle bus to the JR station in the morning, which runs frequently. There are parking spaces, which is more suitable for self-driving tours. There are many restaurants near the hotel with many choices. It only takes 10 minutes to walk to Hirosaki Park.
It's true what they say about an inn with a spectacular view.
The heavy rain that was falling when I checked in stopped the next morning, and I was able to gaze at the autumn-like sky and sea in front of my room for a while.
It had been a while since I'd stayed in a Japanese-style room, and I was able to enjoy local ingredients for both dinner and breakfast, making for a truly enjoyable holiday in Aomori.
It was also great that I was within walking distance of the prefectural aquarium.
There was a live Tsugaru shamisen performance in the evening, which really immersed me in the romantic atmosphere of travel and exceeded my expectations.
This is an inn that I would recommend to others.
Although I chose this ryokan as alternative place but it turned out it is my best stay so far. It is not far from Kuroishi and it is accessible by public transport.
Room is very spacious and has both a bathroom and a toilet.
Onsen is good. It has both indoor and outdoor ones. Usually it is not busy.
Food was great both dinner and breakfast.
Free flow of both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks are also included. Very generous.
Staffs are very friendly, although their English are very limited.
Extra 150 yen per person for onsen tax. Cash term only.
Cashless payment is available.
It took less than 10 minutes to walk from Misawa Station with my suitcase, arriving around 2:50 PM. Staff members greeted me at the entrance with a pony, offering free photos. There was a long check-in line, but the front desk was busy, so I was checked in within ten minutes.
We were randomly assigned to the West Building, which was fortunately the top 12th floor. We walked through a beautiful red-lantern corridor, and the elevator next to the breakfast and dinner restaurant took us up to the West Building. The location was perfect.
The room was a Japanese-Western style room, with two beds for one person. Pajamas, a bath basket, and towels were provided for two people. Gray tabi socks were free, as were beautiful Hoshino Resorts brochures. The room was very clean, with a mountain view.
Dinner included large scallops, roast beef, tuna rice, and ice cream. Breakfast started with large scallop ramen, which was quite satisfying.
We booked the 9:00 PM show in advance, and it was incredibly popular. The seats were packed. The young performers were incredibly enthusiastic, and the props were beautiful. The two elderly men playing the shamisen and singing were also very engaging. Highly recommended!
The apple tree in the first-floor corridor offers free apple juice before 8 PM and until 12 PM the following day.
The shop in the room also sells delicious apple cookies. I'd love to come back sometime.
The environment is quiet and beautiful. The hot spring has indoor apple soup with a faint apple fragrance. The outdoor hot spring is very comfortable. The air is fresh and the room is spacious and comfortable.
The dinner is very exquisite and rich, and the taste is delicious, especially the sashimi is very fresh. I will come again.
Saw a vlog on the property. It lives up to the hype. I went with my teen. We enjoyed the walks. Thankful for the hotel shuttle…the walk alone to the only “halfway house” is 1.5h! Easiest to take shuttle to the end and walk back. There were some negative reviews of the crush during meals which we didn’t experience, perhaps it’s not peak season? But one should use the QR code for booking your eating slot, it informs you on how many before and asks you to start going down to the restaurant when it’s one group before you; minimal wait time. We stayed for 2 nights: surprised that the mains at the live food stations were unchanged! It’s apple-themed! Appreciated the small attention to detail like having cold coffee brew and cold oolong tea on tap for the weather. And the rubber band for sleeves. The yukata provided in room is “F”= Free-size I believe. There are different sizes in the amenities corner by the lift. S fit me perfectly for 153cm tall.
If you chose not to have daily cleaning of room, a small reusable bag with the new towels (which you have to bring to the onsen if using) will be hung on your doorknob.
Service was great all around.
Only bug-bear was the inability to book a massage. The service only starts at 4pm and by then it’s fully booked for the day. Perhaps i should have booked online.
