This hotel was clean and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had lunch at The River Bar which was reasonably priced and the food was good, / We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that.
The room was clean, slightly dated but had everything you needed. The Spa was clean, would recommend to bring sliders/crocs as the floor in the swimming pool area was very slippy, although the hotel does provide a robe and slippers. One of the saunas was out of action but they had other ones available to use. In terms of location it is slightly out of the way, which was nice as it was quiet. We got a taxi and used the tram to get to the city centre which was fairly simple.
Overall very good value to stay here and very good that the spa facilities is included at no extra fee.
I would recommend!
Many Thanks :)
Great location and comfortable room. A little dated but it was clean and a pleasant stay.
Staff were extremely friendly and polite.
Breakfast was ok, mostly continental with a few hot bits. Staff very attentive.
The hotel facilities include washing machines, refrigerators, clothes drying racks, etc. The bathroom is a little old, but it is clean. Breakfast is in the basement lobby, and the food is good, with several hot dishes. The hotel is in the same building as New York cafe, so you can walk to New York cafe to eat Hungarian food at any time.
The hotel is perfectly situated right by the Danube River. Our flight arrived early that day, and we got to the hotel around 9 AM. Thanks to prior communication with Trip.com and an available room, we were able to check in early! My husband and I took a shower and rested a bit before heading out for lunch. After exploring in the afternoon, we returned to the hotel and rested for another hour or so. In the evening, it was only a five-minute walk from the hotel to catch a Danube river cruise – so incredibly convenient! The next day, we slept in, checked out, and stored our luggage. In the afternoon, after our travel photoshoot, we picked up our bags from the hotel, and it was just a seven-minute walk to board our Viking cruise! My husband complimented me on booking such a great hotel; its location made getting around incredibly easy. Plus, there are so many restaurants nearby. Highly recommend!
We had a great stay at Lion’s Garden Hotel! The pool and spa area felt like a private escape—we practically had it all to ourselves. The staff were friendly, and the hotel strikes a perfect balance between elegance and coziness, offering all the right amenities without breaking the bank. Plus, it’s pretty central, making it easy to explore many of Budapest’s top attractions. Would definitely stay here again!
The toilet and shower were separate, and there was also a bathtub, which was very convenient. The shower was button-operated and very powerful, and the hairdryer was a high-quality German product. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable.
It was midsummer and hot, but they brought ice to my room and cooled the two complimentary bottles of cold water I could drink.
The concierge at the reception spoke clear and easy-to-understand English, and was able to understand my poor English.
It's also right next to the airport bus stop, and is very convenient with both the subway and bus stops nearby.
This is a highly recommended hotel with few Japanese or Asian customers.
It's not too far from the center, the staff is friendly, the room is clean, and the price is good. The building next door is under construction, so it looks a little gloomy at night, but there are usually a lot of people passing by so it's not scary.
Great location, beautiful property and top notch service! The room was great but could use a little renovation.
We really enjoyed the royal spa.
Wish we had more time at the hotel
The Hotel all in all was great. The wellness area is the best i have been in so far. The breakfast was very good, there were a lot of meals to chose from. The room was also ok. The only problem was that the parking is not included in the reservation, we had to pay for it. When i reserve a junior suite i think it should contain the parking.
A perfect hotel for a weekend stay in Budapest, or even during your vacation.
There are three beautiful pools and saunas, including a steam room.
Perfect breakfast with a wide selection.

Amazing
GGuest UserVery friendly and helpful staff. They offered us a complimentary upgrade. Great facilities at the hotel, including billiard and gym room for free. The room was spacious, the bathroom was gigantic. The toiletries they offered are from penhaligons. The breakfast was fantastic with a great variety of choices. A very exceptional experience. Will definitely come back.
SSteffenDA nice and pretty affordable four star hotel - perfect for families. Clean, relatively big and modern rooms with river view and balcony. The rooms are bright and give you a good feeling. Bathtub and shower in one. Medium size TV with an okay selection of channels. The very nice thing about this hotel is the pool and sauna area. Several pools for swimming, relaxing and one pool with thermal water. They even have kind of a medical spa/hospital attached to the hotel where you can get (health) cure. The breakfast has a great selection and is delicious. The hotel WiFi works very good and is available almost everywhere. The service and staff are friendly and helpful. They provide you a free water bottle in the room as welcome gift, which other hotels don’t as the tap water is drinkable. The location is on the island, where there are parks and kids playgrounds nearby, even there is a very small zoo for kids to play/touch some animals. To go to most sights/inner city/circus/thermal pools you can take a taxi with the Bolt app for approx. 8-10€. Near the hotel there is also a very tasty chain restaurant VakVarjú Étterem with typical Hungarian dishes. The hotel is also very dog friendly. We loved our stay and will come back. We also stayed in Danubius Hotel Helia nearby, but this one here is much better!
GGuest UserHygiene: Meets 5-star standards
Environment: Luxurious

Space: Slightly small
Location: Very good
Breakfast: Very good, especially the bread
Others: There is a bar on the rooftop, suitable for dating; the Michelin dinner downstairs requires reservation

Great
AAndreitaenchinaThe hotel is well located to walk around and there are great places to eat nearby. It’s a 15 minute walk to the Christmas markets and river.
The hotel is very nice in the entrance with a dramatically beautiful lobby, but the rooms are small, dark and in my case not very clean.
Before I keep with the negative aspects, I’d like to make a special remark to Mr. Janos who was the most helpful person and so willing to help and gave us the best recommendations, including best running route!!!
I arrived at 7am and was able to change and go for a run before my room was ready as early as 11am!! Thank you for that!!!!
Back to the negative:
My room didn’t have a bath (my friend’s on the same floor did 🥲) and the furniture was old and kind of sad.
The worst was the shower. It was so tiny and badly designed that it was impossible to use the shampoo without getting it all washed away.
Breakfast was very good, specially if you are an early bird like me and can enjoy the 7am opening service with fresh bread, amazing eggs and the cauliflower which was my ultimate favorite!!
All in all, pleasant stay, made much better by Janos!!!!!

SSabsKebabsThe hotel is gorgeous!! Breakfast spread was alright; nothing too special but the architecture of the space was very lovely. The live classical music was an added bonus.
We had issues with the shower and after two attempts to fix it, we were moved to another room. We appreciated the gesture.
The weather was extremely hot and it was very unpleasant to be out but we were able to walk down to the port in 20 mins, so the location was great.
We tried to get in a spa treatment but it was fully booked, we should've pre-booked before arriving!
All in all, a lovely few days.
MMiss KatMy experience here as AMAZING.
1. Location was perfect. Right across from the Opera House and there is a subway station entry right outside of the hotel
2. Facility: this is a newly built hotel (I think they only opened a year ago). Every thing is stylish and beautiful. Consistent with the W Hotels aesthetic.
3. Service: the staff was super friendly and thoughtful. We were celebrating our anniversary and they offered some chocolate and dessert in the room and when we dined there!!
4. They only have one restaurant there that serves Asian fusion at night and break in the morning. I would give it a 4 out of 5.
Overall one of our favorites stays ever.
気気まぐれ猫I chose this hotel with the thought that a suite in a four-star hotel might be preferable to a standard room in a five-star one. I was indeed able to check in early around noon, which was a huge relief after a total of 18 hours of flying. For breakfast, there was an impressive variety of milk options, including skim and oat milk, which is great for vegetarians. However, since the menu was identical every day, I'd say that about three consecutive nights is the ideal length of stay before it gets repetitive.
