The hotel's guest services called a day in advance to ask about our estimated arrival time, if there were any elderly guests, and any special needs. It's clear the hotel really values guests' requirements. 👍🏼 The hotel environment is excellent, with good greenery, and staff are always maintaining it. Plus, every corner of the hotel is super photogenic! 😆 The front desk staff quickly processed our check-in and even upgraded our room for free! 👍🏼 They also explained all the important details clearly. 😎 The room was clean and tidy, with a great wet/dry separation and an amazing ambiance. I have to say, both the hotel's interior and the rooms are incredibly picturesque! 😛 The hotel breakfast offered both Western options and Yunnan's special rice noodles, and it was consistently good every morning. 😊 All the hotel staff were very friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. 👍🏼 From the environment, cleanliness, facilities, to the service, my family and I were extremely satisfied. Choosing the MGallery was definitely a wise decision! 🌹🌹🌹

This hotel is located right by the river and has a pool. The night views are beautiful. The river-facing rooms offer stunning views of the rapid Lancang River, though it would be even better if they had balconies instead of just floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel also provides two washing machines for guest use.

After a week-long trip to Xishuangbanna, I came to Kunming hoping to extend my holiday, looking for a relaxing and comfortable hotel. That's why I chose Paperman. What first caught my eye was its ranking as the number one designer hotel in Kunming. It's about a 15-minute taxi ride from Kunming Station, so the transportation is very convenient. On the morning of my check-in, the hotel called me, but I missed the call. However, upon arrival, the staff immediately introduced the hotel's facilities and services and proactively upgraded my room type and offered a welcome flower gift, which was incredibly thoughtful. The hotel facilities are excellent, comparable to a five-star hotel. The room's amenities and decor are fantastic, and it's exceptionally clean. There's a complimentary mini-bar, a Dyson hairdryer, and a big-brand speaker. The hotel's breakfast, afternoon tea, and late-night snacks offer a rich, healthy, and exquisite selection of dishes. The hotel's most famous feature is the rooftop infinity pool, which offers panoramic views of Kunming, with the Kunming Twin Towers directly opposite. The concierge thoughtfully mentioned that I could book a professional travel photoshoot in advance, making it incredibly good value for money. Overall, the hotel is absolutely fantastic! I'm completely won over! I will definitely choose Paperman again on my next visit to Kunming! The hotel service is truly exceptional and attentive! Every time I left my room, hotel staff would press the elevator for me, and upon checkout, they even gave me a souvenir tea gift and helped carry my luggage to the car waiting downstairs.

The Hyatt Regency Lijiang was an absolute hidden gem on my trip! 🥰 The room was cozy and elegant, with all the amenities you could wish for, and stunning views of Lijiang right outside the window. The hotel's pool felt like a sapphire embedded in the earth – perfect for a refreshing swim. The staff's service was incredibly thoughtful and made me feel so welcome. Davina at the front desk was especially warm and efficient, handling check-in super quickly. There are tons of great food options nearby, and getting around is really convenient. Plus, the hotel has so many adorable animals – black swans, alpacas, goats, ponies, and even miniature pigs! I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Lijiang!

Facilities: The hotel's facilities are superb! The bedding in the room is comfortable, the toiletries are complete and of great quality, and basic amenities like air conditioning and hot water run smoothly. The smart room control system is also very convenient to use. In the public areas, the fitness and lounge areas are well-equipped with brand new and well-maintained equipment, and the public area hygiene is also exceptionally good. Service: This stay was fantastic, and I must highlight Minnie and George Chai at the front desk for their exceptionally professional and attentive service. Check-in and check-out were super efficient, they were smiling throughout, and patiently explained the hotel facilities and provided tips for local attractions and dining. Their thoughtfulness was evident in every detail. Any questions we had were answered instantly, and their attitude was gentle and considerate, adding so much warmth to our trip. Their excellent service truly made our entire stay perfect. I highly recommend this hotel and commend Minnie and George Chai for their outstanding service!

Choosing Naga S Hotel was truly the most delightful surprise of my Xishuangbanna trip! The location is simply unbeatable – just a few minutes' walk to immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Starlight Night Market, and right around the corner is the dazzling Golden Pagoda. Serene and solemn by day, it becomes a brilliant spectacle at night, making you feel like you're living inside the most captivating landscape painting of Jinghong. The hotel's design beautifully blends Dai ethnic charm with modern simplicity. You'll find a seamless integration of bamboo weaving, wood carvings, and lush greenery everywhere, offering both a sense of local culture and ultimate comfort. Our room was spacious and bright, with soft, skin-friendly bedding. The bathroom had a thoughtful wet-and-dry separation, showing great attention to detail. What I loved most was that our room window faced the Golden Pagoda directly. At night, pulling back the curtains revealed the pagoda lights illuminating the sky, like a flowing masterpiece. The service also deserves special praise! The front desk staff was incredibly warm and attentive, proactively recommending fun spots and delicious food at the night market, and even thoughtfully advising us on how to avoid peak crowds. Every day, returning to the hotel, we were greeted with refreshing welcome tea, and luggage assistance was always prompt. The hotel also has a rooftop viewing platform, offering panoramic views of Gaozhuang, perfect for a relaxing evening breeze. For tourists, this place is truly a 'hidden gem' as a base. After a tiring day of sightseeing, you can easily stroll through the night market in the evening, enjoy Dai cuisine, and take photos in traditional Dai attire, then walk back to your room to rest. In the morning, you can visit the Golden Pagoda when it's less crowded to experience its tranquility. Transportation is also very convenient; getting a taxi to Manting Park or the Tropical Botanical Garden was hassle-free. If I had to offer one small suggestion, I'd hope for a swimming pool in the future. But even without it, Naga S Hotel is already wonderful enough that I want to recommend it to all my friends visiting Xishuangbanna! Here, you not only enjoy excellent accommodation but also an immersive experience of Gaozhuang's poetic charm, where 'stars fall to earth every night.' I will definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Banna!

I recommend this hotel enough! From start to finish, the experience was seamless and world-class. It is incredibly expat-friendly, and the communication was effortless as the staff speaks impeccable English. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly Chris at frontdesk . Their hospitality was next-level—warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. Chris at frontdesk went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. If you’re looking for a flawless stay with a team that truly understands international standards, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back!

Kunming Jiangye Resort Hotel absolutely deserves five stars. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hygiene management is very strict. The facilities are excellent, with a swimming pool, hot springs, gym, laundry room, and drying room all available. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and thoughtful, answering all our questions in detail. The breakfast was rich and delicious, and the hotel is directly opposite Daguan Park, which offers stunning views. It's truly a top choice for relaxation and leisure.

This stay truly reinforced the saying, 'location is everything.' The hotel is nestled right in the city's heart, with Green Lake and the Yunnan Military Academy just outside its doors. It's incredibly convenient for reaching both business districts and popular attractions, and the surrounding area offers a full range of amenities to meet every need. What surprised me most is that despite its prime location in a bustling area, the hotel offers a peaceful retreat. The soundproofing in the rooms is excellent, ensuring a quiet night's sleep. For both business travelers and leisure tourists, such a superb location undoubtedly enhances travel efficiency and comfort, perfectly embodying the ideal balance of 'bustle outside, tranquility within.'

This was by far the best hotel we stayed at during our Yunnan trip! As soon as we entered, we were impressed by the grand decor, and the courtyard had a lovely Southeast Asian vibe. They even provided free hot spring tickets, and there were plenty of pools, not just a token gesture. The room was massive, with balconies in both the bedroom and living room, overlooking Qinghua Park, with mountain views behind. We checked in at dusk, and the light on the mountains was absolutely stunning! You really must book this suite! It's so spacious and bright; I was incredibly satisfied. Even right before Chinese New Year, the hotel price was still excellent value for money. The hotel's decor and service felt five-star, yet the price was even cheaper than a B&B! The breakfast was also top-notch! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Baoshan. The only minor improvement needed was that the shower water pressure wasn't always consistent.

Rraymond200909On the positive side, the hotel has quite a few recreational facilities, and the room amenities are decent and relatively new. On the negative side, the biggest problem is the excessive dampness in the room. It was uncomfortable to sleep in, and although the hotel changed the bedding, it didn't help much. This might be due to the humid air during the rainy season in Xishuangbanna, but two things puzzled me: 1) The front desk said no one else had reported this issue before. 2) I stayed at three hotels during this trip, and Zhucheng was the third. The other two were right next to Zhucheng, and their rooms didn't feel noticeably damp. Also, the hotel room didn't pay enough attention to some details. The sofa arrangement prevented the curtains from closing completely automatically; I had to manually close them. The refrigerator was also quite noisy, which affected my sleep.

UUlysess444The hotel's facilities and services are excellent, with many thoughtful details that really show they care about guests. The way to activate the power is unique; instead of inserting a card into a narrow slot, you place it on a tray with a groove at the bottom, which is much simpler, especially in dim lighting. There are plenty of hangers and various surfaces to place your belongings. The smart room control system is very user-friendly, allowing individual control of lights in different areas. The 'disposable' slippers are fantastic – clean, comfortable, and environmentally friendly. The room has a mix of wooden flooring and small area rugs, offering the comfort of a carpet while being easy to keep clean, which is much better than fully carpeted rooms. The toilet is the best I've encountered in a hotel; the heated seat is just the right temperature, not too hot, and the flush is quiet yet very effective. While the wide front of the seat and the automatic sensor for opening and closing the lid aren't groundbreaking features, they significantly enhance the user experience. The shower controls are a bit unique, with two separate switches for the handheld and overhead showerheads. This means you can't control water flow and temperature simultaneously, but you get used to it. If I had to pick a flaw, it would be the toilet paper – it lacks elasticity and tears easily.

GGuest UserWe booked a family room, which was very spacious and comfortable for three people. The hotel service was excellent, and we extended our stay immediately. The receptionist was very welcoming and recommended good food and fun activities. They quickly resolved any issues, prioritizing customer satisfaction. 👍 The hotel is located behind the Peacock Tower, and there are many restaurants nearby. However, being in a tourist area, prices are not cheap, and the roads inside Gaozhuang are very congested; it's difficult to get a taxi in at night. The hotel is within walking distance of the Starlight Night Market, which is worth a visit.

OOlive GohWhen I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made. The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car. When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff. The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion. This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time! One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay. Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.

Xxiaoxiao061804Jun Mansion is a really great hotel with a distinct design and excellent facilities. The room rate included four meals, and even though there was some repetition in the food, it showed a lot of effort. I especially loved the Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles at lunchtime – so unique and delicious! The mattress was also incredibly comfortable; I slept wonderfully at night. When I checked out, I accidentally left my charging plug and cable in the room, and the hotel staff were so kind and helpful, arranging for SF Express to send them to my next hotel. They also have a 'Republic of China Photo Studio,' which sounds really interesting, but unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to experience it. Jianshui is a historic city, and instead of adopting the common traditional black-tiled roof architectural style of most old houses, the hotel features interior design elements from the Republic of China era. This reflects the city's past blend of Chinese and Western cultures, which is a really interesting approach. The only thing I'd like to point out is the English sign at the hotel parking entrance that says 'Welcome to put up at Jun Hotel.' This phrasing is very old-fashioned and rarely seen in international hotels anymore. I suggest changing it to 'Welcome to Jun Hotel' or 'Welcome to stay at Jun Hotel.' Of course, perhaps the use of 'put up' was an intentional nod to the Republic of China era context! 😊

DDaidai## Facilities: The hotel boasts numerous smart amenities, including smart toilets, digital TVs, smart home systems, and a mini-fridge. The 3rd floor also features a swimming pool, laundry room, and gym, which are all quite good. ## Environment: The rooms are clean and comfortable. Lower floors facing the street can be noisy, so I recommend requesting a higher floor or a room facing the inner courtyard. ## Location: The hotel is conveniently located close to the Starlight Night Market and Gaozhuang, making it very accessible. ## Service: The front desk staff are polite, greet guests with a standing welcome, and promptly answer questions and provide directions. Check-in and check-out processes are also very efficient, which is commendable.

They have automatic toilets. **Hygiene:** Clean. **Environment:** Spacious and grand. **Service:** Enthusiastic. The breakfast is plentiful and offers great value for money. They offer three meals a day, and even though I didn't have time to try them all, I could sense the owner's generosity and pioneering spirit. KKevin and ZuzannaPoor Experience - Constant Smoke and Noise Throughout Stay The Good: Welcome tea upon arrival was a nice touch Complimentary sweet drinks in mini fridge (first day only) Tea and drip coffee sachets provided with kettle Breakfast cakes were fresh and well-made Spacious shower Decent desk and relaxation chair in room Nice gym and roodtop The Bad: MAJOR ISSUE - Smoke Everywhere: The corridor constantly smelled of smoke. Men smoked in the lobby - some appeared to be affiliated with ownership as they treated the place like their own property and staff spoke to them like friends or family. Staff did absolutely nothing to enforce no-smoking policies even after being told. People also smoked in the corridor, and I could smell it from my small window even on the top floor. MAJOR ISSUE - Constant Noise: Lobby and corridors always noisy with loud customers Same men from lobby playing phone calls or video games on speaker very loudly Guests constantly slamming doors at all hours, including early morning - very inconsiderate Large groups being very noisy in corridors Rooster on neighboring rooftop starting early morning (first day) Very regular loud banging noise from ceiling in my room (first day) Drilling noise next door during the day for extended periods Friday night: company party in conference room with dozens of people screaming VERY loud for hours, continuing well into sleep time hours. They were smoking too. Service Issues: Reception staff during check-in seemed unwilling to serve me because I'm not Chinese, making it more difficult for them. I've stayed at plenty of hotels across all Chinese provinces where staff use translation tools - it's not that hard. The service was quite chaotic and time/energy consuming for me. I was told I could request housekeeping at a specific time, so I did. More than one hour later nothing was done, so I asked again and was told ”housekeeping is having lunch now.” Food delivery via robot malfunctioned; food ended up back at reception inside the robot and I had to queue to ask about it Cleanliness Concerns: Cutleries such as forks and spoons in breakfast room looked very dirty Tea mugs in my room had tea residue still in them - they clean the mugs in the sink with their finger which is gross Mini fridge drinks not replenished after first night Facility Issues: Swimming pool closed despite online information saying it should be open Common areas including lobby very cold with no heating - people dress like they're outside. Not comfortable, convenient, or homey Firm mattress (personal preference) Shower handle won't stay in place, keeps moving to the side Limited storage space in room Breakfast finishes a bit early at 10am. Food looks fresh, some egg options if you're vegetarian, but it's mostly Chinese food so quite oily. Cakes are very nice though, seem fresh and well-made. Would not recommend - the smoke and noise issues alone make this place impossible to rest properly.

GGuest UserThis is the best hotel I've stayed at since coming to Yunnan, in terms of location, service, and rooms. It's right at the foot of the snow-capped mountains, so you can see the 'Golden Mountain Bathed in Sunlight' phenomenon from your room. In the evenings, there's a lively bonfire party. The hotel's own restaurant was surprisingly good; we ordered several dishes and none of them disappointed. The complimentary hot pot was also very generous. All the staff were incredibly welcoming, making us feel right at home. If I come back to Lijiang, I'll definitely choose to stay here again.
