Staying at Clarion Hotel The Pier in Sweden turned out to be one of those experiences where you feel at ease almost immediately. There’s a certain warmth to the place that makes it stand out from the moment you walk through the doors.
Friendly Staff Who Truly Welcome You
What I noticed right away was how genuinely friendly the staff were. Every time we entered or walked past the front desk, we were greeted with a smile or a kind word. It’s such a simple gesture, but it created this feeling of being looked after, as if we were more than just passing guests.
A Location That Balances Quiet and Convenience
The hotel’s setting struck the perfect balance—peaceful and quiet, yet still so easy to get into the city center. It felt like we had the best of both worlds: calm evenings by the water, and the city’s energy just a short ride away.
Beautiful Skyline and Water Views
From the hotel, the view stretched across the skyline and the water, and it was just lovely. Whether it was morning light reflecting off the buildings or the soft glow in the evenings, those views gave the place a special atmosphere that I won’t forget.
A Studio Room That Feels Like Home
Our studio room came with a small kitchenette, and I can’t stress enough how handy that was. For a longer stay, being able to cook a simple meal or make a late tea added such a homely touch. The room itself felt modern and cozy, just right for settling in without feeling cramped.
A Breakfast with Heart
Breakfast was always a cheerful way to start the day, not just because of the food but because of the people. The breakfast chef, a lovely lady with beautiful red hair, had the warmest presence. She greeted everyone with such kindness that it set the tone for the rest of the day.
Looking back, what made Clarion Hotel The Pier memorable wasn’t just the location or the facilities—it was the sense of care woven through the stay. Between the quiet setting, the beautiful views, the comfort of the room, and those daily warm greetings (especially at breakfast), the hotel managed to feel both professional and genuinely personal.
Located in Borås, Mini-Hotel Borås Regementet is within a 5-minute drive of Boras Museum and Textile Museum of Boras. This hostel is 1.2 mi (2 km) from Stadsparksbadet Water Park and 1.3 mi (2.1 km) from Caroli Church.
Featured amenities include express check-out, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Make yourself at home in one of the 30 individually decorated guestrooms. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Bathrooms with showers are provided. Conveniences include desks and separate sitting areas, and housekeeping is provided on request.
The hotel’s location is excellent — just a short walk from the central station, which made getting around very convenient. However, I was disappointed by a few aspects of the stay. The hotel provides grey towels, which I found unappealing; white towels generally give a better sense of cleanliness. Breakfast was adequate, though some of the fruit offered was of poor quality.
I also had concerns about the room’s cleanliness. After our first night, it didn’t seem like the room had been thoroughly cleaned — the drinking glasses we had used weren’t replaced, and some visible stains we had accidentally made were not wiped down. Additionally, the iron in the room tripped the power on both occasions we tried to use it, which was quite frustrating.
The refrigerator in our room wasn’t working properly, so the drinks we stored inside remained warm. I also found the 11:00 a.m. checkout time to be inconvenient, as a later checkout would have allowed for a more relaxed departure.
Good with few limitations
The hotel is very centrally located. The price is also positive: a good price-performance ratio, very friendly staff, includes dinner (a day-to-day dinner, soup and salad from the buffet, good and rich) as well as coffee/tea/cacao plus cakes in the afternoon.
Negative: a small room, sticky at night and a small bed (1.40m) with very soft mattress. The room was so small that we hardly passed each other. The request for two single beds and a hotel parking was not answered. The hotel has only a limited number of parking places, we found a cheap at the university, about 3 minutes walk.
Very good location walking distance to all tourist places & shopping. Room comfortable & spaces. Only 2 disadvantage which first is parking need to park across the road if with big luggage a bit trouble, and secondly breakfast not much choice & seem doesn't changed the menu day by day
Mega delicious and pleasant place and beautiful breakfast, however wondering that wasn't empty waste pads in the room, filling of toilet paper and switching towels and bedwear and we were there for three days.
Overall, this hotel was a superb experience.
We arrived around 18.00 in the evening after a long drive. Unfortunately some technical error in their system required us to wait in the lobby for about 30min, but we were swiftly compensated in the form of free parking and a complimentary prosecco in the room.
The room itself was beautiful. Amazing view, very comfortable bed and TV placement, a very long bathtub. The only mild annoyance was that the bathroom light was finicky to turn on and adjust.
The spa is a must-experience, especially after a long drive from one side of Sweden to the other. It was excellent; nothing to complain about.
The best thing about Upper House however, is the breakfast. I have never had a better breakfast experience anywhere else in the world. I would gladly stay again just to eat their breakfast menu.
Very excellent stay, great service and great food. A solid 9.5/10 experience.
Hello. It was hard with the lifts and long waiting times. Not completely satisfied with breakfast buffet, many edge-supported glasses, things were missing. Had even wish there was coffee/tea in the rooms. It was nice and helpful staff. Mvh, Susanna
It was a nice stay, the hotel is super beautiful.
The staff was super friendly and breakfast was perfect.
We can just continue to recommend it also for the beautiful rooms

GGuest UserWe arrived at 7:30 pm and were told we got a room “upgrade”. The room was small so we really wondered what the “original” room looked like. The bed had stains on the cover that was laid under the mattress
which didn’t look good. We went down to the lobby and found nobody present. We moved on to the restaurant, it was 8 pm. Half full and we were met with the wonderful advise that they were closed for service. This was Friday May 16th and the menu
board was still at the entrance door to the restaurant.
We went back to the reception and queried why the restaurant was not serving dinner at 8 pm on a Friday.
The receptionist looked dumbfounded and told us it usually serves dinner at least until 9 pm but she took no action to assist us except to say we could walk fir 15 minutes to the Aveny, a street with lots of restaurants but could not suggest any close by. We ended up going to, as it happened, a fantastic restaurant right around the corner called Le Pigalle on the top floor of, we guess, a competing hotel. Fabulous meal in a restaurant that knew how to treat their guests.
In short we have regretfully no positive things to say about the ProfilHotels Opera in Gothenburg.
Gothenburg was fantastic but when we return we will definitely not book at the Opera which is overpriced for the standard and service they offer. Total waste of money at this venue. Regretfully we did not bother to take any pictures of the place as it is nothing we wish to remember about it.
GGuest UserThis hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes away from the shopping centre and tram/coach station. I stayed in the family room for 1 night, it was quite cosy for just the night, but it would be small if we planned to stay for longer. The hotel breakfast was very busy and offered a good selection of food. The bed was nice and soft, and I had the best sleep. I even took the covers off to look at the mattress brand. The negative was that there were no complimentary amenities in the room like tea bags, toothbrush, toothpaste or shower cap. But overall, the hotel is extremely modern, and I love the aesthetic. I will most likely be back when I'm in Gothenburg again.

GGuest UserStayed for one night only but wouldn't have minded staying longer. Room is well-lit, small but comfy and definitely fine for one person. Breakfast was pretty good and had a good variety of options, just a bit crowded (understandably so because I think all bookings include breakfast by default). Luggage storage is free but not super secure; the front desk locks the storage room but then you place and take your own bags from inside, so there's nothing stopping someone else from taking your bag. Location - need to take a bus to the train station; also not much in the immediate vicinity.
BBranka IlakovacThe hotel’s location is excellent and very convenient for exploring the city, which was definitely a highlight of my stay. However, there were a few aspects that fell short of expectations. Firstly, my room did not have a view of the street as I had hoped, but instead faced an inner atrium, which made it feel somewhat enclosed and less appealing. Additionally, I had booked a double room but was given a twin room instead, which was disappointing. The reception staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming, which affected the overall first impression. On a more positive note, the food in the restaurant was of satisfactory quality, and the selection was quite diverse. Overall, this is a solid hotel in a convenient location for city exploration, but the experience was far from memorable.
GGuest UserWell everything besides our check out experience was great. Really great!
Then when checking out, we had 3 interactions with the reception about checking out prior to checking out. and only the one at 12:30 (when checking out with luggage and all), we were told to pay a 200SEK late-fee, which I was then told could’ve been even higher and that I should be thankful they didn’t charge me double…
Not nice - and we had 3 interactions prior to this for this exact reason. I wanted to work out first and then shower in the room before leaving. If we were told the first time about the late check out fee; we would’ve checked out then and there.
I complained about this practice, to deaf ears. Not coming back despite it being very nice and perfect for a Liseberg weekend with the family
