For a tourist without car, it is in excellent location, 7 minutes to railway station to/from airport on foot with luggage n railway ticket just cost nok44 , walking distance to cable station to Floyen mount or Bergenhus or Ferry pier and shops. I reserved a small room but got a room of good size with windows and sofa. There are supporting staff in reception always and they can help me for my enquiries. They can provide electrical kettle at request. Coffee is free in lobby. Breakfast is also good , simple with good choices. I will reserve it if I will visit Bergen again.

JL HidemiWe stayed at opposite of the main receptionist. Easy to find the location. The hotel not really do the cleaning for my first day check in. The used towel and left over the tissue at toilet. We requested the cleaning services second day. Downstairs do have coffee machine is fee. This is added value point,
Very convenience. Nearby train and bus station,

Guest UserWe found the Fretheim Hotel very pleasant upon arrival — from the beautiful entryway to the stunning views from our balcony and the delicious breakfast, it certainly makes a great first impression.
However, our room was a disappointment. Walking in, it felt outdated and somewhat cheap, which was surprising given the price of 2800 NOK per night. Essentials were lacking: no face washers, tissues, or shampoo were provided (the staff suggested using body wash as a substitute), and we had to specifically request a small bottle of conditioner. The old age of the towels was clearly apparent, and mold was visible on the glass wall at the edge of the bath.
Another unusual aspect was room temperature control: it’s managed from the main desk downstairs, and with no phone in the room, we had to go down late at night just to adjust it. We’ve never encountered this before.
The bathroom clearly shows its age — dated to the late 1990s — and it contributed to the overall feeling of the room being out of step with the hotel’s otherwise high standard.
In summary, while the hotel itself is charming and well-located, the room we stayed in did not meet expectations for the price and could benefit from updates and better in-room amenities.

The old hotel has a vintage feel and a tranquil atmosphere, with many details and historical artworks. It's conveniently located right next to the station. The breakfast is plentiful and varied, and you can enjoy the view and watch people go by from the window.

Nice!
They got me the highest floor which is great, and special type room, love it!
Most of the things u need are provided except slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste.
I think most rooms can see the pier view.
The first night, some birds, maybe, or someone shooting fireworks at my window making loud noises and I can see some flash lights out the window. Scared die me.
Food: free breakfast and dinner.
Breakfast was great, dinner ok but love breakfast more.
Trip.com says the bottle water are free, but in fact they will be charged. I didn’t notice that and took one, before check out, just saw the pricing list(ー ー;)
Location: a bit tricky to find the ENTRANCE! When u see the building, TUR RIGHT! To the right u can find the real entrance( the front one is no longer in use).
very convenient, located at the heart of Bergen, the Bergen museum is next to the hotel. The fifth photo is very close to the hotel. A few minutes walk to the mountain tram station.
By the way, u can ask the front desk and get the key for accessing the roof top( third and fourth photo)

Cute little hotel in close proximity to the fisherman’s market and about 8 minute walk to Bryggen. Was easy to get to with the airport bus (about 3 minutes from the stop)
I was a bit worried about the lack of air conditioning as the weather was quite hot while staying, but it wasn’t a problem. I kept the dial continuously at -5, not sure if that really did anything.
Friendly and helpful people working behind the desk at check in and out.
Breakfast was a wide assortment of local and western foods. Liked the assortment. There didn’t really seem to be a worker whose job it was to clear tables as that process was slow. But there was space upstairs to eat.
Room was very clean with big windows, but can’t see out them as they are stained. Bed was a bit soft for my liking, like really soft and the shower leaked out onto the floor, but I think it’s reasonable considering the other positives and the price point of the hotel.
Would definitely consider staying here again if ever in Bergen.

Facilities: Complete, everything you need
Hygiene: Cleaned every day, towels and bedding are relatively clean
Environment: Downtown, some noise from the street at night is acceptable.
There was also a fire alarm, everyone went downstairs, but no hotel staff explained the reason, and there was no staff
Service: There is no front desk, you need to check in by yourself or go to the front desk of the chain hotel 200 meters away, which is inconvenient. Checking in at midnight may be troublesome

This hotel's great advantage is its excellent location; it's convenient for getting everywhere. Their breakfast is really good, though the salmon was a bit salty, so be sure to go easy on it. Right across the street from the hotel entrance is a shopping mall, and just a short walk further is the most elegant area of the entire route, with a five-star lake only a three-minute walk away.

The hotel has a great location, right near the pier. Although the exterior is European-style architecture, the rooms are modern and simple. The rooms are spacious enough to easily accommodate two large suitcases. Room cleaning was very prompt. The restaurant is indeed beautiful, and the breakfast is quite plentiful. The staff are all warm and attentive. Parking was done in the hotel's recommended parking lot for over 47 hours, costing 467 kronor. I don't know about any discounts, just for your reference.

EmreWwThe hotel itself is beautiful, and the room we stayed in was comfortable. However, our arrival experience was disappointing. We booked through Trip.com and, at check-in, were told that the room we had reserved was much smaller and not what we were expecting. Based on that explanation, we paid an additional fee to upgrade. Later, the hotel explained that the confusion was caused by the room photos used by the booking platform. Regardless of whose mistake it was, as a guest I was placed in a position where I felt I had to pay extra because of conflicting information between the hotel and its booking partner. I believe hotels should work closely with their booking partners to ensure room descriptions and photos are accurate, so guests can make informed decisions before arrival. I hope this process is improved for future guests.
