The elevator was uncomfortably hot because the air conditioning wasn't working, and it felt especially cramped when it was full. This definitely needs improvement. However, the facilities were excellent and very comfortable, and the overall layout was well-designed. What's more, unlike the heated pool in Sokcho which had an unpleasant odor, Samcheok's was perfectly clean and odorless. I'd definitely love to go back.
If you are looking for an easy sunrise experience, this hotel is for you! You can set the alarm, then open the curtain. Once the alarm goes off, open your eyes and there you go! Sun is rising in front of your eyes!
My happiness was beyond words.
The beach, the sauna, the vibe was all fantastic!
The hotel boasts an excellent location and fantastic views. We were allocated a corner room with a great outlook. We arrived early, and the male receptionist informed us we could check in at 1 PM. However, upon returning after lunch, a different female staff member, who offered no smile, insisted check-in wasn't until 3 PM. We noticed other guests checking in, some even without a credit card, which felt inconsistent. After I had to complain, we were finally allowed to check in, but then they demanded a credit card for a security deposit. The attitude of the Korean front desk staff was very frustrating and made us feel extremely uncomfortable, almost discriminatory. Otherwise, everything else was fine, and we had a very enjoyable day.
It's off-season, so I enjoyed it cheaply ~
Every time I came to Gangneung, the hotel was not suitable, but now it is Gangneung = Silla. The facilities are good and the price is the best.
Located in a quiet area. Difficult to visit convenience stores without a car
The air was thick and smelly when I entered, but it turned out that the smell came from the bathroom. It's okay if you ventilate and keep the door closed.
The gym is large and spacious. The pool only has 3 lanes but is easy to use.
Overall, it's disappointing, it can't be considered a 4 star, it's a large 3 star.
However, when it comes to cost-effectiveness, the price forgives everything.
The food is just 3 stars
Best Western Sokcho was located in the perfect spot for Seoraksan Treks and also to the city centre where the Central market was. The Express Bus Terminal (not intercity bus terminal, do check with your driver) only 5mins away to Seoul, bus stop to 7 or 7-1 is 3mins away. eMart was 5mins away and Daiso was 10mins walk from the hotel. Amazing offer from Trip.com if booking made in advance. We were travelling in a group of 4 and booked two Ocean view deluxe twin rooms. Beds were Ace bed, slept very comfortably for the 3 nights stay. There is a coin self laundry service at basement. Ocean view was blocked halfly but good enough to see sun rise from the beach which is only 10mins walk away. There are many good eateries around the hotel as well as near the beach, the lake and at the Central Market. One incident made the stay unpleasant though, we bought the famous Manseok chicken from the Central Market for a beer and chicken night after climbing the peak of Seoraksan Daecheongbong for 12 hours, the cleaning staff threw away our food (a box with full chicken inside) without asking. The reception staff reaction was disappointing as they didn't seem care. In the end, they offered to re-order a random chicken for us but we refused to take it as the mood was totally ruined. I have to say there was not much service per se at Best Western Sokcho as it is more like a service apartment but the hotel room quality, the location and price were fantastic. I will recommend anyone who like trekking Seoraksan and exploring around Sokcho to stay there but do not expect for hotel service.
Service was top notch. Staff went the extra mile to help me order food through her delivery app and delivered a dryer rack when requested.
Location was pretty good with a bus stop just 3 minutes away. It takes about 20 minutes to go to Seoraksan. The cons is that there's not much food selection within walking distance although there is a 7-11 just downstairs and a CU opposite.
Overall the room was quite clean apart from some stains on the sofa. They do clean the room everyday but dont change the bedsheets.
As for amenities, bedroom slippers are provided. Laundry detergent is 1000won which has to be purchased at the front desk.
Loved the room view on a clear day with Seoraksan right in front of me. People complained about the lifts but I honestly didnt wait long throughout my 3 days stay. My longest wait for the lift was probably 3 minutes. Would come back again.
There's a convenience store in the hotel's basement, which is very convenient, and best of all, it's right by the ocean, making it incredibly accessible. Just a short walk to the left of the hotel is Gangneung Sundubu Street, and to the right is Anmok Beach Cafe Street, offering plenty of food and drinks. However, the room was a bit disappointing, and there's currently apartment construction going on behind the hotel, which made it a bit noisy in the mornings and afternoons. Hopefully, things will quiet down again once it's completed.
great location near the beach & convenience stores nearby, but the bed / pillow cover are quite uncomfortable (tbh for me personally VERY uncomfortable...) since they used 1-time use cover in order to protect the environment and such?? The receptionist said we could remove them if we want to but nevertheless the pillow cover is so unacceptable that I had to use towel to cover... other than this it'd be just great...
We stayed at the Ramada while on a family ski trip to Mona Yongpyong Ski Resort. The hotel was very convenient and was a nice place to stay during our trip. Only really had two complaints about the experience. (1) We booked a family room that said it would accommodate up to 4 people (we have 4 in our family). However, they only provide bedding for 3 people, so you have to pay a nightly fee for bedding for the 4th person (didn't realize this until we checked in). If the room can accommodate up to 4 people, then bedding should be provided up to 4 people, especially when the hotel knew we had 4 people from the time of booking. (2) The breakfast is super convenient as there isn't much open/available in the area in the morning time. However, it is very expensive, so be prepared! Even with the hotel guest discount (10%) we still paid over 90,000 KRW each day for breakfast!

GGuest UserThe hotel itself was fine, except that it was a bit out of the way! There are a lot of facilities, including a convenience store and hot springs. It's located a bit high up, so it might be difficult to get there without a car.
GGuest UserGood experience with Legoland Resort Hotel! The location is very close to the Legoland Park. Many facilities within the hotel, but nothing to play in the legoland in winter. Most of the games was closed. Hopefully we can spend a whole day in the hotel.

TTuxannie WuanThe place is good, 7 minutes to ski and has a supermarket and eatery place nearby.
Honestly the room is nice, with cooking facilities but the owner was not friendly at all.
The toilet was stuck and leak they came with only the plunger and ask us settle ourself.
Is winter and we came with kids, the kids built a snowman and they destroyed the snowman after we went for ski trip.
We are a group of 10 and we wanted to cook our dinner. There is a small hut with table and chair and BBQ facilities, we ask to BBQ facilities (We are willing to pay, 10,000 won as stated) but she said is winter so we can’t use the BBQ pit, ended up we use the stove to cook up the meat.
The husband and wife came in to the huts and told us we can’t do BBQ but we explained to her we just cook the meat and we didn’t do any BBQ. We left the place with cleaner than we came in. I have to WhatsApp her and show her the place is cleaned.
The warn us that we must left the place by 1am but in fact all of us finished eh 9.30pm every day since we are tired from Ski.
During the last day, they came to us and I was thinking they come and say goodbye but they just make sure we throw every single piece of rubbish outside the house.
My husband wear shoe and just step to take our luggage and the owner insist us to take out the shoe before we went in to the house. Although we have explained, we just step in and take the luggage and go, he insisted us to take out the shoes.
I have been travelling all around the world and we do understand every cultural is different but as the operator of tourist industry, the owner has to be service minded. If you can’t accept any international travellers then please do not list your place in any platform or put up a notice that international tourist is not permitted to stay there and we won’t book accordingly.
Is such a shame to see this happened to us after our 5th trip to Korea and our 3rd trip to Pyeongchang for ski.
DDrCraqIt was a very nice experience - of course the hotel is more expensive due to its unique ”design”, but for us it was worth it (we only stayed one night). The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms were nice and clean and parking was included. Only thing is, that there is a little walk from the parking lot to the reception, but there are carts that can be borrowed. Also the surrounding area is nice and has some viewing spots worth exploring. We had nothing to complain.

GGuest UserFree shuttle bus services definitely help get around the resort with ease. Discount coupons for restaurants, facilities and rental equipments given upon check-in are great savings too. Would choose it again for future stays.
NNaveedAdvantages
Conveniently situated
Generously sized accommodations
Impressive amenities
Perfect for family trips, this place offers all the amenities you need, just like an Airbnb. You'll find a cooker, pots and pans and cutlery readily available.
Conveniently located near a variety of dining options
Drawbacks
The staff had limited English proficiency, making communication quite challenging.
Upon our early arrival at around 11am, we found the reception area to be deserted. Along with other guests, we were left waiting at the counter, unsure of what to do. Finally, around 1pm, a receptionist appeared. However, rather than simply informing us that check-in was only possible after two, they made each guest wait in queue to deliver the same message. Upon returning to the reception at 2, we were informed that we had to wait an additional hour. This experience was quite unprofessional and made it challenging to enjoy other activities
GGuest UserI spontaneously decided to stay for a night and booked after reading reviews that praised its cleanliness. It was much cleaner and more spacious than I expected, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. I really enjoyed watching the sunrise over the ocean!
The only slight issue was that parking was quite limited, probably because it was peak season, and I barely managed to find a spot. Otherwise, check-in and check-out were smooth, and I was very satisfied.
