The room is quite spacious for a Japanese hotel. It's right next to the subway station, with a 7-Eleven downstairs and a bus stop. You can easily get to Osaka and Naruto whirlpools from here, which is super convenient.

Guest UserCosy Ryokan walkable to Iya Valley Vine bridge although it may be steep at the entry/exit slope for elderly n those with mobility issues. The stay was comfortable and relaxing. Public bath was a little small but nonetheless enjoyable. Food wasn't luxurious but showcased their local seasonal eats. If you are driving and only staying overnight , I would suggest packing an overnighter and leaving the big suitcase in the boot as the poor staff will have to lug them up steep staircases to bring to your room. There is free coffee and also a vending machine next to lobby area. There is a small courtyard to chill after dinner and look at the stars after dark. The Futon can be a little thicker as those not used to sleeping on tatami may wake with a stiffer back. It's not a deal breaker though, will still recc the Ryokan if you are planning on staying in the area and enjoying the famous Japanese hospitality.

Sarahef2026Nice hotel right next to the train station. Good amenities and clean room and bathroom. We got the breakfast (around 1300yen) and it was decent with western and Japanese breakfast options. In walking distance to everything of importance in Tokushima, would recommend for a short trip!

It is an unmanned place, but it is a method of calling the staff by the phone placed at the desk and finding the key in the room reserved in the keybox.
The staff only speaks basic English, so you should prepare a measure to communicate in Japanese.
Early check-in and spacious rooms and bathrooms are hard to find in Japan. The water pressure in the bathroom is strong and the hot water comes out well.
It's equipped with a microwave and a refrigerator.
But the mattress on the bed was dead with all the cushions.
If you go to Tokushima, I'll find this place again.

A very pleasant stay! The service was friendly and polite, and the small cable car onsen was a unique experience! The private bath (charged price) is highly recommended; the environment is tranquil and spacious with excellent views! Taking the hotel's used car at night, listening to vintage Japanese songs, to the Mangqiao Bridge for the night view was a unique experience!
The landlady was very kind and even sang a beautiful song during dinner!
They quickly helped me send any forgotten items to my next hotel!
Highly recommend staying here!!!
This is even better than Wa-no-Yoku!

The Eleven Hotel Awa Ikeda Station Branch is very conveniently located, with JR Awa Ikeda Station and the tourist bus stop just downstairs—you could almost touch it. There's a shopping street downstairs, but it's often closed. There's a tourist information center next to the JR station.
I stayed in a standard twin room with an en suite bathroom. It was spacious and well-equipped, with a large Japanese-style bathtub and a sliding door separating the toilet and shower. It was super clean. Pajamas were provided.
The hotel has only a few staff members, but they were polite and friendly. When I checked in that evening, 15 minutes before closing time, the gentleman patiently assisted me. The continental breakfast was exquisite and delicious, and the soup and toast were the most memorable. It was absolutely delicious and not to be missed. There's a locker on the floor, but we didn't seem to use it. If you have a chance, please let me know if you do. Thank you.

Guest UserOlder style but everything is well maintained just like most Japan hotel. Nothing to complaint about, just sleep over for us. But I imagine it’s very convenient as it’s at the JR station, we drove so it makes no difference but nearby parking isn’t as expensive as JR station in more developed city. Food option is plentiful nearby though so that’s great for late night supper.

Jenny*v*The staff service is proactive and attentive! Although the lobby is small but well green, there are many drinks provided free of charge, the facilities are courteous and attentive, which is heartwarming.
Highly recommended! Will choose to stay again next time I have the chance.
There are low buildings nearby, the hotel is the tallest, so the view outside the window is wide, and you can see the sunset.
