As for cleanliness, the hotel is still new, so the room was very clean. One thing that bothered me was, was it a mistake by the cleaning staff? There were tea bags on the shelf in the room, but there was one tea bag on the shelf above it, which was neatly propped up. Are there two per room...?
The location is a bit of a walk from Yanigawa (about an 8-minute walk), but it might be good for multiple people! The location is not complicated, so you can find it easily. However, since it is outside the downtown area, there is nothing around...just another hotel or a ******** parlor! It is a bit dark, so it might be a bit scary for a woman to walk there alone. There is no convenience store nearby, so be careful!
The necessary facilities and amenities are available. There were separate pajamas for top and bottom. The bath was a type without a bathtub.
In terms of service, I had booked a single non-smoking room, but they upgraded me to a double room because there was a vacancy ^ ^
The location may be inconvenient,
but it's a great place for healing purposes.
The food is delicious and the view is amazing.
There are many stars in the evening, and in the summer, you can enjoy the pool, which seems even better. The hot springs in the hotel are free, and when there aren't many people,
I was alone and took a picture of the bath.
It felt like a private bath because I could enjoy it alone.
The hot springs while looking at the sea were the best.
The hot springs are open from 5 AM to 12 AM.
I'm so happy that they operate.
And most of all, the staff were really kind.
I was impressed that they greeted me from the time I arrived at the hotel until I left.
First, we loved the onsen and its services, where we soaked in three pools of different temperatures, sweated in a sauna, then alternately cooled ourselves in cold baths.
Second, room services were excellent despite its furnishings seemed to be run down a bit.
Third, its location is central to travel most places of interest, which spreads out in Kagoshima Prefecture.
The views of the bay and the volcano are absolutely stunning, 'picturesque' doesn't even begin to cover it!
My room type was a garden view twin, so I couldn't see the volcano or the sea. It was all about value for money, at around 600-700 RMB per night. The room was spacious enough (by Japanese standards), and the luggage rack could fit two medium-sized suitcases. The bathroom was also quite large.
If you want to see the volcano, you can head to the courtyard or walk five minutes to the Shiroyama Observatory. You can soak in the large hot spring bath while looking at the volcano, but we only took a quick look around the baths and didn't really try them out, so I can't comment much.
The hotel shuttle bus runs every half hour, which is pretty convenient. The city view bus stop is near the Shiroyama Observatory. Just ask the receptionist at the hotel lobby on the 4th floor how to get to the observatory; we turned left then right and it was a five-minute walk.
By the way, the city view bus route is a bit winding and there aren't many buses. It's better to take the JR to Sengan-en. The JR has a stop right at the entrance of Sengan-en, and the platform itself is the best spot to view Sakurajima.
A new hotel with excellent location. It’s just next to the shopping streets with lots of restaurants & souvenir shops. Got amenities such as bath salt, tea bags, drip coffee & cleansing oil/ lotion at hotel lobby for you to pick up. The restaurant where you take breakfast commands a stunning panoramic view. Will stay here again.
Despite the rainy weather everyone seemed really friendly and easy going. The staff took great care of our needs and was really attentive.
Even though we dont speak Japanese, communication was possible. Some people of the staff also spoke English.
The room and amenities were great and clean.
The chicken rice for breakfast was delicious. The sea view is wonderful. There was no drinking water pet in the refrigerator. It would be nice if it was also at the front desk with the menu images for breakfast and dinner.
My expectation is to have a bathroom inside and a private Onsen in the afternoon and morning. But hotel policy provides only private Onsen in the afternoon.
The hotel food is perfect and has a nice taste. A staff can speak English very well and is helpful.
The front desk and cleaning were very kind and the amenities were abundant and I was very happy.
I was worried because there was no car, but I was very helpful with renting a bicycle. Also, it was very convenient because there was a hotel in front of the station.
I would like to use it again when I go to Izumi! (^o^)
Thank you! !!
It's a 5-6 minute walk from Kagoshima Chuo Station, making it very accessible. The airport bus terminal is also a 5-minute walk away, making it even more convenient. The staff are friendly, and the cleanliness is excellent. Breakfast was disappointing, with almost the same food served every day. The hotel's exterior is currently under construction, so the views from the rooms are not great. When I first entered the hotel and opened the curtains, I was surprised to see construction workers right in front of my window. The train noise was loud, and worst of all, the Wi-Fi was barely usable and frequently disconnected, which was incredibly annoying.

Very Good
Its a good place as a onsen resort hotel. The onsens are really good. The food is so so but they provide free flow ramen and ice-pop at night as supper and snack. The room is spacious, clean and quiet. There is a private onsen tub at the balcony of our room. It is so nice to enjoy it in the breezy spring. It will be better if you have own car to stay here. There do not have much choice of public transport direct to the hotel. But hotel staffs are also helpful to assist you to grab a taxi to any scenic spots nearby. The taxi drivers are all very nice. Even they can not speak english well, they tried very best to drive slowly when we pass by beautiful sakura park and use simple english to introduce few scenic places. The hotel limousine provided us one way when we arrived the jingu station and one way when we checked out from the hotel to jingu for free. I like their service and have great stays here!
We absolutely loved this stay and would recommend it to all travellers! We booked the corner room. The room was well illuminated by natural light during the day and we could see the river from our room. At night we could even hear the water flowing. There were two western single beds but we asked for futons for the full Japanese experience and loved it! The room was spacious and clean. There was a bathtub in the bathroom but we used the public bath (male and female separated) which was amazing. The public bath was quiet and spacious and there was a sauna room. Breakfast was served during 7am -830am with a well set table as shown in the picture. The staff was super kind. Just note that the walls were thin and you should expect some noise but people here are generally used to keeping their voice down. Another highlight is that you can take the bus of both the red and blue lines at the bus stop right in front of the hotel. (The blue line is for Shiratani Unsuikyo.). It is very convenient if you are not driving. The hotel is around 25 mins away from the ferry port and the walk there was pleasant and not difficult to find. Yet another great thing about this place is that you can rent mountaineering gear here at a cheap price, including shoes and rain protection. We rented the shoes here at 1,xxx yen per person (forgot the exact price) and they were very useful. It was raining for almost the whole 5h hike for us and the shoes offered a good grip and were sufficiently waterproof. You can also find little souvenirs at their shop. Honestly, it's impeccable!
I really enjoyed my two-night stay at Samana Hotel Yakushima. The atmosphere during my visit was very peaceful, and the staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive. Everything about the stay felt well considered, and there was honestly nothing disappointing. I would definitely return. I really enjoyed my two-night stay at Samana Hotel Yakushima. The onsen was a real highlight, beautifully maintained and deeply relaxing, and the view from my room was absolutely spectacular. Although it was whale season while I was there, I did not manage to see any whales this time, but that simply gives me another reason to come back. If there is one small area for improvement, it would be the dining experience. While the food was perfectly fine, it felt rather ordinary compared with the overall quality and standard of the hotel. A more varied and distinctive selection, particularly at the buffet, would better match the hotel’s otherwise excellent experience. Overall, a truly lovely stay, and one I would happily recommend.
Convenient : Yes, hotel entrance just few steps from Shinkansen station exit👍🏽👍🏽 Price : Very reasonable👍🏽👍🏽 Room size : Can open 2 big luggage in same time🤣🤣 Clean : Yes👍🏽👍🏽
I stayed two nights. This is the second review for the same accommodation. I was very satisfied. This accommodation is really exceptional value for money. Very grateful for a great experience. Thank you ”Rest & Lodge Syou” for everything, especially the free airport pickup and drop-off. Very much appreciated.
Even though this is an old hotel and it shows in its facilities and overall design, the service and amenities you get as a solo traveller is worth thw price you pay for an overnight stay. The room is clean albeit small but sufficient. Some points to take note if you're planning to book: This is close to the central station so it's juat a block away from major shopping and transport options. The hotel closes its front desk and doors at 11 pm to 7 am. Checkin before 11 pm. Going in and out of the hotel at that time is possible if you use your key card to open the front doors. Walls are thin and it's very possible that you would hear your neighbor. There's free coffee and drinks at the lobby.
