AAnonymous UserHotel was tired and staff are inexperienced in the hospitality industry.
Room: stayed on 8th floor. Pillows had strong sweat smell and looked like they havent been changed in a while.
Room decor was pretty basic with basic laminate flooring.
In the bathroom there was complimentary shower gel and shampoo but when the bottles were pressed, it was very watery and seemed like the staff had simply topped it up with regular water.
Room internet was also extremely poor and I gave up after half an hour of trying.
Breakfast was a big spread but not of high quality. The bubur was lumpy. Fried chicken was tasteless (possibly indicating being frozen for some time) and the chefs cooking the indomie simply threw the noodle cake into a half filled water bath and did not stir or monitor the cooking resulting in half cooked indomie.
Breakfast section also smelled like a massive cigarette factory as there were smoking sections.
Upside: Great location as part of a mall development.
There is a comfortable lounge in the lobby conducive to meetings and afternoon catchups.
Staff at the lobby lounge were very pleasant and efficient and went out of their way to clear our cups quickly and take new orders. Always smiling.
This hotel is a very stark contrast to the mercure semarang where we spent the previous night.

GGuest UserWe had a very nice room it was quite clean ( Could be cleaner perhaps) but the room average was good. We had a funtime during weekend at the aqualand just little bit disappointed that during week days the slides during the day wasn’t operational. The breakfast was good with quite some choice. Overall definitely a place i could go back to

GGuest UserRoom is ok, enough for 1 person. Exactly like picture single room for 1 person.. cleaning team did a good job... room floor was clean, clean bed sheet and smell good towel 👍 but amenities was very limited. No hair dryer. Front counter service staff were friendly and polite. Buffet breakfast was all right. Still have varieties to choose.. Location wise was good. Thank you.

However, the restaurant's menu is quite limited, service at the lobby cafe is quite slow, and customer service is somewhat lacking.
For those who prioritize facilities, this hotel is highly recommended. For those who frequently utilize in-house services, the Mercure Hotel in downtown Samarinda may be a better option.

The check-in process was smooth and quick, with professional and friendly staff at the front desk. My room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with modern amenities — including a minibar, air conditioning, and reliable Wi-Fi. The bed was comfortable.
Breakfast buffet offered a variety of Indonesian options, and the taste was good overall.
I’d gladly stay here again on my next trip to Balikpapan.
